  1. I am in the process of bringing my mother here from South Africa, we have paid the IV and AOS fees and are filling out the documents. How soon after submitting the application, do we need to submit the civil documents? We have them all except for the Police Clearance Certificate due to lengthy delays at the Police Stations in South Africa with the ongoing Covid pandemic. Can we submit everything that we have and then once we have the certificate, submit that then? I obviously would prefer not to have an RFE, but any advice would be appreciated

    Thank you in advance

  2. Hi,

I am currently filling out the I-130 to sponsor my mom to come to the USA from South Africa.

I have 2 questions regarding the form.

Part 2. Information about you (petitioner)

It asks for parents information, do I still list my dad's info even though he passed away a few years ago? I'm assuming yes, but just want to confirm

(My mom is the beneficiary I am filing for.)

My second question is that my mom is a dual citizen with the UK. She has passports for both the UK and SA. She was born in SA and still lives there.

When it asks for the beneficiary's passport number, I'm assuming I would enter her SA number, as that is the country where she is currently "located" and lived all her life - correct?

    Again just wanting confirmation.

    Thank you all in advance.

  3. APPROVED. YUUUUPPPPPEEEEE.

Opening the mail box last night, and seeing only one letter there, and it addressed from Immigration, got me sooooo excited, I almost screamed.

I can't believe it is almost mostly over, just wait fo the reeal card, and then take a break and then at some stage apply for citizenship.

Ahh man, I'm really really legal now:)

Good Luck to All, yours will come soon, it looks like they are actually moving ahead now.

  4. A quick question, let me know what you guys think, please.

My Bio app is scheduled for Monday the 6th, I haven't received a cancellation/rescheduled letter for my appointment, but do you think they will turn me away when I go on Monday as they have cancelled some for the 6th and if they are updating there systems from the 7th, do you think it includeds the 6th as well, and I should just do a walk in tomorrow?

    Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for your help in advance.

  5. I always go take out the garbage and go to the mail box by myself, just to get a few minutes of exercise:) But tonight I asked my hubby if he'd like to join me for the walk. He said yes, he is my good luck charm.

My biometrics letter app was waiting for me in the mail box.

Please put me down for my appointment on 07/06/09.

Danced all the way back to our apartment.

    It's the small things

  6. Personnally, I would wait, just so as not to confuse issues. I know it sucks having to wait, but maybe you get some nice person or a beginner at the bank:) and they don't notice it? Thats just me personnally.

I received my application on May 1st, and it was post marked May 20th, and I received it on the 23rd. So give it a little time.

    Good Luck

  7. Please help.

My applicataion was returned to me this week after I filed for removal of conditions. I didn't write out the check correctly - I left off the 00/100 cents in the wording of how much the check was valid for.

Anyways, moved on from being highly annoyed with myself.

My question is, they have put some code in the Remarks section, on the front page of the I-751, now when I resubmit the application, should I attach a brand new form or just leave theirs attached?

I aprreciate all help in this matter, I just wanna get this sent in as soon as possible.

    Thanks once again.

  8. Received my Green Card in my hand last night, the card is dated from the 27 July 2007 and will expire in 2 years time.

Then all of this begins again for us, but in the mean time PARTY PARTY PARTY. Gonna relax with my husband and enjoy one another without all the stress that comes along with obtaining a Green Card.

    Good luck to you all.

p.s. I'm addicted to VJ, so I will still be around checking on everyone, and helping where I can

  9. Hi Everyone, I want to let you know our case transferred to California Service Center, as I read from other members whom cases has been sent to California, their cases approved without interview. I hope our case will be one of those.

There is a CSC transferred column going at the moment, you should add yourself to their list, then you check out how everyone is doing that is in the same situation as yours. I was on it, it was great.

  10. I came on a K-1 visa, at the POE they took my medical envelope, like they were supposed to, but somewhere between JFK, Missouri and CSC they lost it, but my RFE said that I never included it. But obviously I wouldn't of gotten in without it. So I say the LOST it.

Anyways, long story short. I went for an infopass app - nothing came of it. I contacted my congressman - nothing came of it. So, that left me going for a full medical AGAIN, I had some of my copies from the medical done in SA, so they used them and I only had to have the HIV, sphyillis and TB skin test done.

I sent the RFE back about 3 weeks later and a week after that my Green Card was approved.

If you can get your congressman involved and he finds them, then great. But other wise just go for the medical again, yes it's alot of money, but it also saves alot of time.

This is just how my experience was and my personal opinion.

Good luck, hope it all works out great for you.
