I need help. My fiance is a Syrian Citizen who was living in Lebanon. we applied for the K1 visa in 2017, we had the interview in 2018 and were put on  a lengthy administrative processing more than 15 months . During that time, my Fiance had to move to Montreal, Canada as a refugee  after she lost her residency in Lebanon and was unable to return to Syria which is worse than Lebanon . All of the sudden, the US embassy in Beirut called her to renew her expired finger prints, DS 160 and come for another interview. The political situation in Lebanon was getting worse everyday, the roads were blocked and there is lots of tension against Syrians  and she was not allowed as a refugee in Canada  to travel to a country in which she does not have a residency. We decided to transfer the case to the U.S Montreal, Canada. The U.S embassy in Montreal agreed to transfer the case, we have been waiting for 3 months for the transfer. The U.S embassy in Montreal is saying that we have to wait to the visa transfer which could take months. The U.S embassy in Beirut is not responding to any emails and there is no way to call them. Last week, I checked the status of our case online and the status says ( EXPIRED). We are now devastated, we do not know what to do. Any suggestion or help is much appreciated.

    thanks

Did you do a change of address when she moved. If so call and discuss this. If not talk to attorney.

  2. You have to show you have strong ties to your country. I think you need $10,000 USD and a house. Just a good job is not enough. I don't think you would get visitors visa.

You can meet in another country. My fiance did not meet the requirements and his country is too dangerous so we meet in Turkey. If you are Muslim the country you meet in is limited but they are some. Good news is his visa was approved. It took almost a year to approve. When the two of you meet, take pictures with time-stamp or document the days you took each picture. Also, make sure you wear different clothes for each day. This will help them determine the pictures were taken on different days. Smiling and kissing is a plus. We only had one kissing picture as I felt that Turkey is a conservative country and kissing in public would not be the thing to do, but we were smiling, holding hands a lot.

  3. I submitted printouts and it was it was approved. Do the photos have the date on them? If not put the date (month/date/year) underneath the photo. Are you wearing different outfits? It helps to show you did not take all the photos at the same time. I only had one trip and took lots of photos but you only need to show a few, not all of them. My fiance has been approved! He is waiting for his visa. He will be here soon. Yeah!!!

  4. I would check to see why it is not updating. Do a control (maybe alt, I have a mac and it is an option) refresh and if that does not work find out if the embassy has tech support for the website. It should refresh more than every 2 months. My finance has been in Process Pending since March, his number starts with ANK2015 and it usually updates every 2-3 days. Hoping they will change the status soon.

  5. Guys, let me ask my question this way,

I had my interview for my K-1 visa on June 16, 2015 in Ankara / Turkey and they sent my case to administrative processing. The consular officer told me to check this webpage http://www.usemb-ankara.org.tr/consular/english/immigrant_admin_processing.htmland when I see my case number, to take my passport to embassy so they can put my visa on it. So up untill now there are no news from my case number on the link above.

My case number starts with ANK2015...

ANK obviously is for Ankara and 2015 is the year they got my case right?

The link above doesn't have any case number starting with ANK2015... not only mine!

Embassy got my case from NVC on May 5 2015. So the question is Do people whom K1 cases are in administrative processing in Ankara require long time to be processed? I mean suppose there is some guy whose K1 case was sent to administrative processing in Ankara on February 2015. So his would also start with ANK2015 right? Or March or April or whatever? Or should I interpret it that as no one's case from Ankara have not been sent to AP in 2015 and I'm the first one.

Idk. Somebody help me over here. Anybody whose case is in AP in Ankara out there?

    Any info would be appreciated

  6. If you live near a large city and are looking for things to do so that you don't get depressed, check out meetup.com (it's free). It will list all sort of groups for hobbies or maybe a group for other people from your country or people new to the US. If they meet on the weekend or evening your husband could go too.

  7. My finance needed to have documents translated for his interview. He sent me a pdf, I had it translated and sent the certified translated document back to him. I used Global Language Services. I emailed the document to Global, they quoted me the price and I paid by credit card. They then mailed the document to me. There are also other translation services online and if you live in near a big city there are probably local translation services.

  8. The K-1 visa is faster in getting her to the US than marrying her and applying to get her to the US. The downside to k-1 visa is marrying in the US, her family will not be able to come. The plus is your family will be able to attend. Either way document!!! Get pictures, if you talk on the internet or phone keep records. If you meet her parents, get pictures. They do like pictures of you kissing but I did not feel comfortable doing this in public and depending on the woman she may not want to do this. If there is religious reason make sure you document why you are not kissing. You should be smiling. I know a lot of guys do not like to smile but you need to show that you are in love/like her. If this is more of an arranged marriage, make sure that you mention it in the letter explaining the relationship.
