Orhanzo and all those looking for reference, our scan date was 12/17/2015. Our case was completed today, 1/26/2016.
-
That was my wife above in post #1180. Yes, we got our third N/A this morning just about when I predicted based on other responses here. I noticed that folks who got a 12/15/2015 scan date got their CCs on 1/22/2016, so I figured we had 2 more business days and two business days later, we're here. We filed an I-864EZ (no, I'm not rich...lol) and apparently I squeezed past the minimum on the Poverty Guidelines.
We are soooooooooo glad this chapter is over because I have not seen my mother in 7 years (marital disaster, divorce, single father stuff, as the children live with me, meeting my current wife, courting, taking trips to see her, getting married made it near impossible to go see my mom who lives in the Caribbean, herself). We NEEDED this to happen so when I see my mom again, I will have my ever beautiful wife next to me. In fact, me and my 3 brothers are planning a later April trip to go see her and have a sought of family reunion. So, yes, there was sooooooo much riding on this approval in hopes that we could get an interview date by at least EARLY April (we are hoping for March) to keep that trip alive. Yes, for something like this, you get choked up because we are that much closer to FINALLY living our lives together and being able to travel together and live like a husband and wife ought to.
Thanks for all the support and all the answers, replies and well wishes. -
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Case COMPLETE!!! Got our 3rd N/A. No checklist!!!
-
I am sooooooo nervous. Just biting my nails right now. I really can't deal with a checklist right now.
-
Scandate?
Dec 17 ? if so i hope for you Friday it was Dec 14-15 i think so.
Yeah, 17/12 is our scan date. Fingers crossed for good news today or tomorrow, hopefully today. My husband is saying even if we don't hear anything today or tomorrow, he doesn't see the week ending without us hearing something.
-
Really hoping for a CC today or tomorrow.
-
12/17 Monday or Tuesday!! Fingers crossed!!
-
No there's no buffer. Like today someone got Case Complete 1/22 he will get the case complete email in 7 days next Friday the 29th. That's how it has been for the last 3 years.
Why a week who knows it's been there thing for some time since I been doing this in 2012.
What would be even better is if we knew at the start of that 7-day interim that a checklist is forthcoming so you get a 7 day head start on what they are asking for or asking to edit.
-
So what you are saying and correct me if im wrong.
NVC says there time is down to 30 days again, but they need a buffer of 7 days to mark the case CC in system ?
So cases we see now, has been done for up to 7 days ?
Yes, that is what I am saying, but I was actually asking based on the comment that "they send you an e-mail 7 days LATER." I took that to mean the case can be completed earlier (within the 30 days), but the system is not updated with an e-mail stating this until 7 days later?
-
I will be on that site 8 times a day from Wednesday, if they keep up the work at NVC i may see CC around end of next week.
But yes it a waiting game.
Just spoke to them and yes, they did tell me that as of NOW the case could be completed, but the system might not reflect this until 7 days later IMPLYING that they get the case completed within 30 days or so, but allow themselves an additional week to probably mass e-mail applicants for a [scan] date 30 days earlier.
For example:
Scan Date: 12/17/2015
Actual CC date: 1/15/2016
EMAIL stating Case Complete: 1/22/2016
I'm guessing that is how it goes, as it does not appear that whenever a worker is done with a case, they do not reach for their computer and send out personal e-mails to individuals alerting them that their case is completed?
-
Well you can look at CEAC after the 3 N/A or you can wait it out for email/letter.
But yes.
Well, no matter when you find out, you still have to "hurry up and wait" for the interview anyway, but I guess it is good to know, as early as possible, for peace of mind. Waiting that extra 7 days for the CC status to go from the worker's desk to the system for an email is just another 7 days of excruciating fingernail biting.
-
They send out an email 7 days after completion of the case. or at least thats what i know
So, does this mean that the NVC can complete a case and you won't know for 7 days unless, say, you call into the center to hear it directly from them?
-
After Submit DS260 IV Package how many days wait for next step or how many days wait for review this process
They told us 30-45 days.
-
Well, we are day 36 (January 22 today) and no CC as yet. Somewhere along the way, we were told that the review period was changed from WITHIN 30 days to WITHIN 30-45 days starting in December, of course, the same month the NVC got our AOS/IV. I guess it makes sense that we are BEYOND 30 days if, in the first place, they could not review applications within 30 days.
I see someone above had their scan date on 12/15/2015 and got their CC today (1/22/2016). Ours was on 12/17/2015, so I hope we are right on their heels with a CC today or Monday, but I would take today. Of course, there is always that chance of a checklist to hold things up even longer. -
Well, I have not checked into VJ since about mid-October when the USCIS finally approved our petition, but my wife sure has been checking and her mood varies based on what she sees. All I have done is call in to find out if the case is completed because I try to busy myself with other things and just let the days sail by without thinking too much about all of this. With each step of the way, it has been “hurry up and wait.” She is so down in the dumps right now as we are at day 34 of the “30-45 days” window.
The other worry we have is the dreaded “checklist” which can hold up the process even longer UNLESS it is something they ask you to simply get and take to the interview. Then, since I don’t see many Guyana cases about the place, we have no idea what the going time is for interview dates from Guyana. I was hoping it was more like 1.5 to 2 months, but who knows now. But, before we even think that far, we have to first get past the NVC and it seems they can checklist you if you breathe too hard even though we triple-checked everything, signatures and all. Interestingly enough, my wife met an American Citizen in Guyana two days ago who is there for an interview and the embassy. They were told to come back for a new apt to provide more proof. Guess I am going to ask him how long it took them to go from CC to interview. -
Sooooooo, my husband called the NVC a few hours ago and was told they have officially extended the review process to 40 days and 30 days are no longer in effect. Soo, more waiting . Apparently they only did this about a month to three weeks ago.

Scan Date December 6th. Today is the day we hit 45 days. we called NVC yesterday and they asked us to wait one more day. Not surprised how things are going for us. We have been getting the short end of the stick since the start of the process, Waiting 7 months in USCIS instead of the average 5 months. It took about 27 days for our application to reach NVC instead of the maximum i seen on this forum which is 21. There are so many delays i'm starting to forget them all. Anyway will wait out today and call tomorrow so that it can be put under supervisor review so that we can wait another 40 days or so.
WOW!! I'm sorry it's been going like this for you. We've had it pretty easy so far: 5 months at USCIS, 3 days to NVC, 21 days to get case number and IIN and everything else went pretty fast in terms of forms and fees and yet, we are still frustrated. I really hope you get your CC soon.
-
You should get CC next week. Because someone with a scan date of December 10 was approved yesterday.
Be strong, and let's be honest, NVC moves faster than Nebraska Service Center, good thing we dont have to wait another 5 months.
This is soooo true. That 5 months had me going crazy so I'm thankful for small mercies.
-
When was the last time you called them ?
Can be there is a checklist maybe.
But yes i don't believe them when they say 30 days either.
But again.....
The right hand, don't know what the left hand does.
So seeing is believing
Noooooooo, no checklist, please. I would have a heart attack if we have a checklist. I can't handle that now but one very nice rep had told my husband she saw everything. When he called before we had the scan date, the rep took a minute when he asked if our packages had arrived and she said looking through everything, we did everything right and had all the necessary documents so I'm hoping she was right and was telling the truth. I really never believed the 30 days because I was looking at other timelines and saw how those went so I just counted off the 45 days but now, seeing people getting their CCs closer to the 30 day mark or just a few days after, I am hopeful.

I was told by NVC that it´s not working days, but just days.
And i know the last one was Dec 10.
But after talking with NVC last night, they told my wife that the letters are correct and it´s 30 days not 45 days.
We are at day 34 now so if it's 30 days, they really are moving SLOWWWWWWW.
-
My wife called NVC last night.
She was told that what´s in the letter from NVC about how long they need is what counts.
So she was told to call back Thursday/Friday for a update.
I told her to specific ask if it was 30 or 45 days they needed and that the letter/webpage don´t talk about "up to 45" days.
So i hope they pull a hail mary and get it done
Have a good day, i will go to the US Embassy today for a other matter.
My husband called yesterday and they told him 40 days but before, it was 45. I don't know what is going on in that place, I just know they need to do better. I'm gonna go work 12 hours now just so that I don't lose my mind today. Beyond frustrated. Scan date: 17/12.

Hopefully we get a miracle and get case complete this week next month interview.. This is so hard I started a new job at the bank in November I don't know if I can leave and go visit, if I wasn't working and I'd go back and wait till he comes here.. I spent 6 months in 2015 back home with my husband now it's been almost 4 months I haven't seen him.. Let's all pray for some good luck this week.. ❤️ This is too stressful and draining I agree with you 100 percent agree with you.
You're so lucky you got to spend 6 months with your husband, for me, it's always just a few weeks then back to responsibilities for both of us. He called the NVC tonight and they told him 40 days, we are now at day 33 and these 7 days will seem like FOREVER. Our first anniversary is in March and we really want to be together for that I just hope this is all finished because I feel like I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I try to focus on work but even that isn't working anymore. I just want it to be done with and to just get on with all the plans we have.
-
My scan date is Dec 14 and when I called just now I asked her is there any updates because I'm almost at my 40 day mark, and I heard her count on the phone from when I sent them and she said if I don't hear anything by the 29th to call them... Ughhhh I'm hoping it's sooner than the 29 because these 10 days seem so far away I just want my husband here already!! Hopefully my self and you guys get cc this week. Good luck.
I know EXACTLY how you feel. Our scan date is 17/12 and the days go by so slowly. BTW, this is the wife responding, too lazy to open my own account on here so I just use my husband's account . My birthday is next month and I was really hoping to be able to spend it with my husband but at this rate, I doubt that will happen. This wait is so tiring and draining and I just need my husband.
-
Still can't figure out how our scan date is the 17th December when we mailed it overnight and it was delivered to the NVC since the 10th but whatever. Hoping for CC this week or next week the latest. We are already at day 33 so hoping it is soon.

Give it 40 days. You're likely to get it before then but count 40, not 30. Our CC came today and our scan date was 17/12. So it was closer to 40 than it was to 30.
