They received my case on August 2nd, and all I have at this time is the extension letter. Didn’t receive anything about biometrics (appointment or waiver), and on the website the last update is that my case was received. On the other website, when I enter the receipt number it says “At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.”
so frustrating.
Don't give up ! California received our case on 8-10-18, we got our NOA on 9-6-18 and then we received my husbands biometrics letter on Saturday. His apt is 3-26-19. Looks like they are moving through some of these now.

I had California as my filing location originally, but during the chaos, my application was sent to Arizona briefly to cash the check and after sent to Texas to be processed. I've not heard anything since then (September 21st.) Anyone else happen to be in the same situation? I think we're only seeing the California ones being updated at the moment, so I'm assuming Texas just haven't caught up as well as they have 😔
We are California too and ours still says : At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 for additional information.
We received our NOA 9/6/18

I agree with you 100%. But he says that he had promised them to come home last summer for a visit and had to change his plans because he changed jobs. He says he can't do that to them again. I feel so guilty for asking him to wait, but it's only for a few months and maybe we'd know something by the end of the year or early next year and then he could go. Thank you for your opinion, I don't know what will happen.

Hello everyone,
We filed 08-10-18 and received our NOA on 09-06-18. Has anyone heard anything ? My husband never received anything about a biometrics appointment. I know we are still a long way from it being over. Has anyone travelled out of the country with their extension letter ?
-
Thank you for your help. It's a big risk I guess, but I understand he wants to go home and see his mom :) It's been 3 years.

You are welcome.
One more question. Do you mind telling me if you had a layover anywhere ? If so, where and did you have to have a transit visa ? We are looking for flights that have a layover in Madrid both ways - but should we be looking elsewhere as well ?
I know that he does not want to have a layover in France.

No you are totally fine. Yes I'm Moroccan and I travelled with My Moroccan passport , expired GC and extension letter.
Thank you so much ! I appreciate the information !

This may be a stupid question, but since I can't see your timeline, I have to ask. You are from Morocco correct and didn't just travel to Morocco for a vacation ? Sorry if it seems obvious.

Hello,
My husband came to the US in September of 2016 on a CR1. We filed to have the conditions lifted last year and received our NOA 9/6/18. He received his extension letter, extending his green card 18 months until they are through adjudicating our case. Here is my question and my
gut wrenching dilemma. He wants to go back to Morocco for a visit this summer. He at first wanted to wait until he received his 10 year green card, but has since changed his mind. I'm sure he wants to see his mom and family, I mean who wouldn't ? I am just scared to death that when it comes time for him to board his plane to come back that they will not let him. I've heard all kinds of horror stories about Morocco not accepting the extension letter, etc. I am trying to find anyone who is in the same situation that has flown with the extension letter recently to Morocco.
Did you have any issues and if you did, what were they ? I have a friend whose husband's CR1 was approved in late December. He was leaving Morocco from the Casablanca airport, with his wife, and they would not let him leave. And this was with a passport and a visa !!!!!! They said it was because he had a 1 hour and 10 min layover in Paris and because he didn't have a visa for France, he couldn't go. She had to leave him at the airport, and fly back to the US without him and he came a few days later with a layover in Portugal this time. She said that the Moroccan officials
at the airport told him when he left, not to come back unless you want to stay !!!!!!!!!

Thank you for all the replies but I think y'all are missing the point. I am even reading i751 experiences in this same community and MOSTLY (not to say all) of them had the same pattern. Between 5 to 7 weeks after the first NOA people received the Appointment Notice for Biometrics and the actual appointment was something between 6 to 9 weeks . I am certainly not asking about the whole processing time because I know it takes forever and I just have to wait, sit back and relax. I am expressing the idea that with the new extension period (18 months), times for NOA are gonna get longer.
I wish someone who had applied after June 28th 2018 would reply this topic to compare.
My husbands application was received at the California Service Center on 8/10 and they still haven’t cashed the check and we have not received an NOA. We’ve called USCIS and they said we had to wait 30 days and call back. We will be on the phone with them first thing the morning of 9-11. My husbands green card expires soon and we are worried about what to do next.
-
Well, here we are nearly a month after the California Service Center received our package and they still haven’t cashed the check or sent out a receipt. We called USCIS and they said we had to give them 30 days so that’s what we are going to do. We will be calling on Tuesday 9-11 to see what they can tell us, if anything. My husbands green card expires on 9-21 and we don’t know what to do without the NOA 😕

He would need an I-551 stamp in about 18 months. That should be enough time to get it. He doesn't need the passport for biometrics.
At the time of an I-551 stamp if he doesn't have a passport, he can get a special card made as proof of I551 but he'll need to bring two passport photos.
Thank you so much for your help. You’ve put our minds at ease. 😊

So if he has to get another I-551 stamp, will it need to be in a valid passport ? I'm just worried that we won't have time to apply to have his passport renewed and get it back in time for the biometrics appointment.

I don't know if I'm in the right place to ask this, so if I'm not, please let me know.
We recently filed my husband's I-751. They received it at the California Service center through FedEx last Friday. My questions are this:
1. Should I be concerned that they haven't cashed the check yet ?
2. How does this process even work exactly ? I know in 3-5 weeks, (so I've read) he'll get a piece of paper saying they have received our package and there will be a case # assigned and this piece of paper will extend his green card for 1 year.
When/how does he get a biometrics appointment ? Do we need to make it after we get that piece of paper or do they make it for us ? Does he have to bring his passport ? (His Moroccan passport expired in November 2017) - if so, we'll need to expedite getting it renewed.
Someone else who had gone through this process, but it was several years ago, said he just brought his driver's license and social security card.
Again, if I'm not supposed to ask this here, I apologize.
TIA

My husband is from Morocco and we have a 17 year age gap, me being the older one. It was brought up in our interview back in 2016. It wasn't elaborated on but it was mentioned. If you have a legit relationship and you have effortless answers to their questions, you should be fine. I also lived in Morocco for nearly a year which I think helped.

Hello,
I am asking for a friend who is currently at the NVC stage and received a letter for a missing casier judiciaire for her husband who is in Morocco. The question she has is do you get this document in the city he lives in now or in his birthplace ? My husband actually went to his birthplace to get it. NVC is also telling her they don't need the translated copy - has something changed ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !
-
I am 17 years older than my Moroccan husband. BUT, I also lived in Morocco for nearly a year with him prior to us filing for our CR1. There will be questions and you will need proof. Could you not hold off on the process until she's able to make a few more visits ? It's better to have more face to face time in the long run than to file for a visa that you may have a slim chance of getting without more proof.

My fiancé has his interview this morning in Casablanca and was out in AP. They did not want to see any information, the interview lasted about 5 minutes and was mostly focused on why we didn't get married in Morocco, why he was looking for a girl online (he wasn't, we met on a website for language instruction) and why he would want to marry a woman 17 years older than him, they said it wasn't "normal" for a man in Morocco to marry a woman so much older.
Is there a way we can appeal this AP as soon as possible? I will be in Morocco the 11th-20th and would want to go to the Embassy with him if possible. My concern is if we let the case come to the US it will sit indefinitely and die here. I know it's not a no but it feels like one. They did not keep his passport and he said the guy kept asking questions and did not let him answer them.
What is our next step? Can I do anything in country? Please give me hope!
Don't let your age difference deter you. I am 17 years older than my husband too. And there is another couple on here that have a 27 year age difference. She is 27 years older than him and he is from Morocco too. If you are serious about being together, then wait until you get the decision about the AP. If they deny him, then go to Morocco and get married and come back and file the I-130 for a CR1 visa. If you need any help or additional info, send me a message.

Hello,
My husband and I are also one of those couples that just completed the immigration process in September when he arrived in the US. We were married in Morocco in May 2015 after I had lived there for nearly a year. I returned to the US and filed for his visa in 11/2015 and he was here by 9/22/2016. Anything I can help you with, please let me know. Good luck and be patient.

It is my understanding that you have to take the original I-864 signed by the person whose income you are using on the I-864. NVC had a copy of ours, but I also send the originals to my husband prior to the interview. They did ask him for them, even though they came over from the NVC. Hope this helps.

My husband's visa was issued 09/09 and it was ready to be picked up on 09/15. Eid was during this time though too.

It's a consulate in Casablanca. The actual embassy is in Rabat. The consulate is not near the airport. Here is a link to a hotel I stayed at while in Casablanca. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293732-d601764-Reviews-Barcelo_Casablanca_Hotel-Casablanca_Grand_Casablanca_Region.html

Hello- it was my husband- we are married. We had to have a cosponsor because I lived in Morocco until June 2015 - so I only had 6 months of income for 2015 and it was not enough. I had submitted letters from my current employers showing what I would make this year but it didn't matter. The CO told my husband we were approved pending we find a cosponsor. We found one and I got the documents fedexed to him, he delivered them to Aramex along with the blue 221g and his passport and he had his visa a couple weeks later. That is why I asked what color the paper was. The way I understand it, the white 221g form is for administrative processing alone. Meaning you have to wait to give them time to find out whatever it is they are investigating and they will get back with you. I hope this helps.
