Received Packet 4 and scheduled our interview today! December 17th in Montreal. It sucks that Montreal wait times are so long, but at least now we can relax, get the medical done, and make plans for him to arrive by the end of the year!
-
My case arrived at the NVC today! Calling back tomorrow for the case number/invoice number. Woop Woop!
-
Quick question...
My NOA2 says it's valid through 12/20/2015. Does that mean we need to have our interview completed before then? I'm worried that we won't get one scheduled in Montreal before then because they're so backlogged.

Hi anyone from june filers still waiting for case number? Been waiting 41days still no case number..
is this normal? My f and i are worrying now
My NOA2 says:
"If you have not received any correspondence from the NVC within 30 days, you may contact the NVC by email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. You will need to enter the USCIS receipt number from this approval notice in the subject line. In order to receive information about your petition, you will need to include the Petitioner's name and date of birth, and the Applicant's name and date of birth, in the body of the email."
Maybe that will help?

I didnt get any confirmation (no text, email, or post).
But you'll know its there if you recieve packet 3 ?
same here, we didn`t get any message or notification other than the one when we look up our nvc case number on the website.
First notification we`ll get other than that will be one of these days my packet 3 will arrive here. For some people that`s enough, but I like to plan and prepare ahead. When my packet 3 gets here all I`ll have to do is buy a big envelope and send my documents back cause they`re all ready and waiting to be sent.
That's my worry, that I won't get any notification. And Montreal is NOTORIOUS for not sending Packet 3! Some people never get it, and for some it takes months. Looks like I'll be calling in 2 weeks. Thanks for the info!

Thank you..
I just cant see myself or my fiancee calling to get our case number like 20 times a day and on hold for hours and hours and the respond is "wait until 35 days" when they do pick up. We both are easily stressed and we're not that patient.. So we only pray cause we believe that good intentions lead to good result.. Praise God we're blessed..
So guys, just hang up the phone and spend time joking around, goofing around and have great fun with your fiancee.. Time flies when your not stressed out.. Dont mind the visa process and just let everything flow as it wants.. And remember to pray... Praying will not change our destiny but it can change how we feel and look at things and praying definitely can calm you down..
So, does everyone get an email confirming that the case was received? From reading the guides I was under the impression that you may not get an email, so you better call and get your case # to be sure. I would rather not stress myself out by calling and waste time by sitting on hold, but I don't want to miss the case # and drag out this process any longer.

My case was approved today! I sent off the RFE on 8/11 and NOA2 was 8/24. Yayyyy
.

Hi Abbyhawk, how did you receive the notification? Did you have to sign in your USCIS account or was it by email?
I registered my case # at uscis.gov and checked the box to receive text and email notifications. So when there was an update, I received an email alerting me that there was a change. But when I go to check the status online it shows the same message, so either way you should be able to find out.
Good luck!

Got a notification tonight that they received my RFE and they're working on the case again. YAY!
-
Received my RFE today (6 days from online notification) which I thought was a pretty good turn around! They need my long form birth certificate (I originally submitted a card).
No big deal because I found out after I submitted and requested 3 copies of my original birth certificate from Florida. Now I'll be sending one back to them tomorrow in the provided envelope (and one to my fiance)!
I'm so relieved that's all they needed.
-
I finally got an email today that I have an RFE coming to me in the mail. I think it's probably for my birth certificate because I sent a copy of my card, not knowing there was such a thing as a "long form" birth certificate. The good news is that I already ordered the long form and received 3 copies, so I'll be able to send back the original as soon as I receive the RFE.
I'm sad that it's going to take even longer to get my NOA2, but at least it's moving now.

how do you know that they are working on your case and that they have touched it .... what exactly is the wording from them?
So for the following has not been changed ....
Case Was ReceivedOn June 24, 2015, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number XXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by July 24, 2015, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to
Mine says the same. It's been 37 days since my NOA1 date. Good news is that my login is working again! (it was broken for a while).
-
we got ours right in the middle of the estimated time our timeline gave us ( 21-25 july and we got it 23rd of july)
Don`t give up guys
Also, It looks like they`re doing incredible work at CSC we`re getting more and more record time ones.
Yea, it's hard not to get impatient when you see the other quick turnarounds! But today is the first day within my "estimated window" so I have to keep that in mind.
-
Still got nothing from USCIS after 48 days. We're anticipating an RFE for we forgot to mark X over some of the questions. Hayayay! USCIS will you please atleast touch our papers please. :-(
Sorry for ranting in here.
Congrats !!! hope our once will also come soon ....
You guys are not alone! I'm still waiting, 36 days since my NOA1 date. My timeline estimates it should be here this week. I also think I may get an RFE since my Birth Certificate was a small card instead of the long form (I didn't know there was a long form until after I sent it off).

Geeky as it is, we met online playing shooter games. Yup, shooter games! N`either of us were looking, at all, but he was the first guy to not treat my like most gamer girls get treated. I was head over heels in love in the matter of hours(i always tell him days cause he`ll make fun of me :X) and so did he. We still play video games almost daily after work or during weekends while skyping on a second monitor.
My fiance and I also met online playing shooter games
Halo on Xbox, to be specific. And we're both June 2015 filers!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Just got our approval. 27 days. Wow, I am in shock. I can't wait for my fiance to wake up.

Hey Abby, I'm confused about the packet you just mentioned. ...so once we get the NOA2 we also get a packet? Sorry I'm all new to this so I have no clue...thx
No, we only get the NOA2 hard copy, but after that arrives I will send a package to my fiance with a copy of the I-129F packet, copy of NOA2 hard copy, and I-134.
From the K-1 guide section:
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).2. Send copies of the documentary proof that you submitted with the I-129F for your fiance(e) to have on hand for their interview at the embassy.3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form.4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form.5. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.6. Proof of your ongoing relationship. -
No RFE or NOA2 yet, although I don't expect it until the first week in August.
When will you guys send the next package to your fiance (or when will they be sending it to you)? I read that you should send it right when you get the NOA2 hard copy so that you can include a copy of that, plus any RFE's, etc.
John's birthday is in a few weeks, so I was going to send him all the info, plus a nice gift, but I don't want to be waiting around for the NOA2. Maybe I can just scan a copy for him that he can print out and add to the packet.

So after a very simple interview, my visa was approved! Thanks to everybody here for all the help and guidance through this journey.
Congratulations! I have been watching your journey because my fiance is in Canada and I hope our process is as quick as yours!
