Anyone have been successful in expediting AP to travel for work purposes?
We submitted our AOS in early May w/ AP, and then submitted an AP expedite request (he needs to go to Australia in early July for some collaboration with colleagues and I am travelling with him) mid last week. Yesterday we got a letter asking for evidence to support severe financial loss (our expedite reason) - I have printouts for the travel arrangements and letter from the University he will be visiting, but all of a sudden I feel like it might not be enough...

So we went ahead and contacted USCIS over the phone to try to expedite AP for my husband (has to travel for work in early July to Australia). Yesterday we received a letter stating their receipt of our request and asking for supporting documentation (we are going with severe financial loss). Will be faxing over our documentation today and then keeping fingers crossed.

You can make an infopass at your local USCIS office and provide proof of a true emergency (illness, death etc) to get a faster emergency
AP. Work related is not a true emergency.
Hi Ebunoluwa, they also have the "severe financial loss" as a category for AP expedite, which is our case (a noticeable amount of money went into organizing the business part of the trip and a lot of people involved). I am hoping to hear from USCIS in the next few days, if not - will definitely go with the info pass option!

So we are trying to expedite my husband's AP (work/family-related trip coming up in 1 month). He called the 1-800 number today and they took his information and said that someone will be contacting him between 5-30 days with regards to the AP. 30 days makes me worried =((((
Doing some research on the forum to see what that 5-30 days actually means...

Biometrics completed today! Now we will try to contact USCIS to expedite AP. Keeping fingers crossed.

Good afternoon everyone! My husband and I are also May AOS applicants.
Sent package via Fedex on 5/7
NOA texts received on 5/13
NOA letters received on 5/18
Biometrics letter received 5/23
Attempted biometrics walk-in 5/26
Biometrics appointment 6/2
Ehh, everything was going so fast and smooth for us until my husband tried to do a walk-in for biometrics (yesterday at Buena Park office) and was told off =( Now we have to wait an extra week.
We are on a super tight schedule (travelling to Australia for work/family on July 2nd) due to my mistake (I was incorrectly under the impression that AP is a formality immediately after the biometrics provided your status was fine prior to the AOS application). Hopefully we will be able to expedite as soon as the biometrics are done!!!
Good luck to everyone!

HI canadian_wife! Thank you for replying to my post.
Vice versa, I am the US Citizen, my husband has J-1, we currently adjusting his status. I frequently travel with him when he travels for work. The financial loss is all the expenses for the planned travel - plane tickets, etc.
I guess the question is ultimately what is "severe" in the eyes of USCIS. Would be nice if they provided some guidance.
