I was an April AOS filer had my interview last Dec.30 at Seattle.

How was your experience? Did you bring copies of everything? I was planning to bring all originals of documents plus updated photos and bank statements. Etc..

I received notice that my interview is scheduled for Jan.14 ( Seattle) . I was told in August that I had to wait 9 more months! So this was a surprise!

July 7th my case was ready yo be scheduled for an interview, and thats the last that has happened for me

Same here... I was so excited....ive been ready to schedule for an interview since July 7th.

If you plan to travel abroad you may want to renew your passport for now. To obtain a US passport, it will take several years before you can apply for US Citizenship

Its been a long time since I wrote on this topic but it looks like some of us are smoothly running along with our EADs and interviews . I got approved Friday last week and still not received an update on card production and getting a little worried. Congrats on everyone so far though

I got approved July 29th, received update that card was being mailed out Tuesday, Aug.11 and actually received it in mailbox the next day.

I got my combo card on Wednesday. It is my first piece of id with married name. Today I went to SSA office and was in and out within 15 minutes. I brought birth certificate, marriage certificate, combo card, and i have a state id. They said I could use passport or birth certificate. My passport expired and I want to wait to get US passport , instead of renewing my old one, so luckily I didn't need it.

Received update that my EAD card was being produced today.

Ok sorry just to add: I added a copy of my marriage certificate to EACH form,I-485,765,I-130,131. Just to make it clear. Under other names used: I put my maiden name. I'll try to find a link on this recommendation.

Hi Everyone - This is probably a really silly question however I am a little confused how to complete the G-325A Form for AOS (yes still trying to get all paperwork together ). Do I complete this in my married name or my now maiden name? Also at the bottom of the form it asks for me to complete Alien Registration Number and Name. Do I use my Maiden Name or Married Name? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi so I had no ID that showed my "married" name. My passport,drivers license, etc had maiden name. Also my marriage certificate had my maiden name. I researched and read to go ahead and use married name because they will accept marriage certificate as proof of name change. EvEN if there is no name change on it. Anyways I went to my biometrics today. My forms said my married name and my ID was all in maiden. I forgot my marriage certificate. I was freakin out! When I got to the window. The officer said no problem. I think she checked my file or something and I got to complete my fingerprints/photo etc. I asked if everything was ok, if I needed to do anything else. She said no everything was good and my card should come.

It seems like the affadavit of support is getting everyone trumped up ? I filled it out twice , because it confused me a bit...have my biometrics tomorrow. Hopefully no RFE's!!

Now we've got already our four numbers, tried to check them , but since we are new in system, guess will take some time to verify our statuses, says Error for now:( Will wait for our NOA by mail, hopefully next week))

I-797 is the NOA1. Its not a form you filed. I-797 is like a receipt FOR a form you filed. You should read what form the receipt is for.

Just got NOA1 email and sms but only for I-797, waiting for AOS and for my son's as well))

I also didn't get an I-94 entry as I'm from Canada. I left it blank. I stated Visitor status.

Wow. This is crazy but I agree with Blahblah's suggestion. Maybe write a note and include a copy of rejection notices as well and ask to be SPECIFIC so you can fix whatever is wrong, instead of having to guess each time.

Update: I received my NOA1 hardcopies today and everything seems fine so far. They cashed my checks on Wednesday...so they did accept them. I did not have my phone number on either check, and one was missing the address. I cannot believe I was so careless. Everything else I checked over about 10 times! It all worked out, because they were cashed and my package was accepted.

Received my NOA1 hard copies in the mail today. So now onto waiting for biometrics appointment letter!

no the fees for i-131 and I-765 are included with I-485 when u file for I-485. So for you it will be 985 + 85 (biometric fee) = 1070 . I don't know if you need to file I-130 or not..
