Did the officer say that you were permanently excluded from the US?
-
It shouldn't as long as you are making the same, or more level of income as your previous job. I would just bring a verification of employment letter with you to your interview if you've already filed.

No because i dont have a social security number :/
I didn't either when I got on my husbands insurance policies. He explained to them the case we were in, and they allowed us a temporary addition, and they would follow up for a social security number in three months. I dont know if it would work for you, but its worth a try. And as far as I'm aware, a SSN was not needed to be added as a life insurance beneficiary.
Do you have any wedding cards addressed to the both of you with a signifcant amount written in them? We provided some of those as well. Also, we included support letters from a variety of people, and that helped I think.

I found it was significantly different than expected. Our interview asked us a few basic questions about our relationship, but the rest of the interview was "self-led" in that he asked us to prove to him why I should be allowed to stay. It was up to us to choose what evidence to show him and to talk about the legitimacy of our marriage. We came prepared with all of our previous paperwork, plus updated financial information, and copies of insurances with both of our names on it. We also brought wedding cards addressed to the both of us, as well as 4 support letters. We only showed the officer a few of the wedding cards and two of the support letters, and that was all he needed.

Hi everybody i need some advice about what to do in this case, this the story i submitted my aos package including i130 and i765 and all the other documentation about sponsor and medical examination everything fine until i realize we didnt include any evidence of bonafide marriage for the i130 we are afraid now because we dont want any rfe or noid because it will delay the process and we are in a hurry waiting for the work permit bc in this moment we are living in separate states me(beneficiary) in new york and my wife(petitioner) in florida, i know it looks weird that we are not living together or even that we dont have a joint bank account but we can not do that before i get my ead because i need it to move to florida there is difficult to get a job that pay cash or the transportation without a car if you dont have a driver license in florida so i think we have a vallid reason. can anyone give us an advice, will we get a noid or rfe??
I can't say whether or not they would give you those. I think if anything, its likely that you'd get an RFE. It does delay your case, but it isn't always the end of the world. In regards to evidence, are either of you on the same insurance policy (health, life, or car)? That is what my husband and I used and it was fine.

In theory you're allowed to come for visits, but you will be subject to scrutiny at the border, and unless you already have booked a return ticket, you may have a problem.

It does say that on the form, I guess he didn’t realise. I just wondered if anyone had been approved using dark blue. It’s probably not best to risk it. Thanks.
I'm sure people have been approved using it. I didn't put n/a on my forms and just left things blank when I was supposed to. I didn't realize til after but it worked out for us. I don't think it would be an issue, BUT I know the darkness of the ink helps when they copy things into their systems.

My theory is to always be over prepared. With that in mind, I would get atleast the last years tax return, if not three. But, that is just personal preference.
As for the forms, I highly recommend you get them filled out according to instruction. I believe they needed to be done in black?

Hi everyone,
Is it true that it's only required of the Applicant and not the petitioner? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
With our visa, I only provided mine. But then again, I know they have full access to run their own checks on the USC.

Thank You so much! We are planning on starting in June. I appreciate the feedback. You have made me feel better about this process.
It’s a long process, but worth it in the end

I have seen that you need to wait a week for medical exam results from Surrey, I have also seen the next day. Can anyone confirm how long the results from Surrey, BC take?
Have you had a chance to call and ask? I’ve heard mixed things about how long it takes. I got two different answers the two times I called, but that was over a year ago.

Hello,
How long did your process take? Where did you have to go for your medical exam? He is from Alberta and so he has to go to Surrey. We really want to do the K1 and we have discussed that we will have enough saved so that he won't need to work for 3 or 4 months. He is a mechanic and makes a good living. Thank you in advance!
Hi! My process was pretty quick (you can view my timeline on my profile). I’m originally from Alberta as well. I found it easier to go to Montreal a week before my interview and get the medical done there, because it was significantly cheaper than planning a separate trip to surrey.

He lives in Canada but because he was convicted of a crime he needs to have a fingerprint search done which has to get sent away no matter where we go unfortunately
Oh shoot. Sorry to hear that.
Like the other posters said, they probably just ask you for it and put you in a waiting period until they get it.
-
If I may ask, does your partner live in canada or imthe US? I know sometimes you can luck out by going to a different police station if you live in a city. I got my police check just by walking up to the desk at the station in my hometown.

I just finished my K1 process and I’m from Canada. Feel free to message me if you have questions along the way!

@karice @missileman but how long it takes? I received letter on 7th Feb saying I am awaiting in queue . You know any estimate time? Like 1 month or 2 for getting interview letter
Immigration is a hurry up and wait game unfortunately.

If you want to prepare beforehand, I'm sure that a copy of the packet 4 letter is out there somewhere. You can always prepare the documents on the list, and just double check when your official letter comes in.

OP, it might be a good idea to go pick up your husband so he feels more at ease returning with somebody he is comfortable with and is a USC.
This right here. Having worked and spent a lot of time with people who struggle with similar things, having a familiar, calming presence very well may help. At least a small trip so that you can help him work through it, so he doesnt feel alone?
-
In addition to the above suggestions, perhaps getting letters from the people in attendance at your initial ceremony would help?

Define Criminal Record?
For the most part USCIS and USEM doesn't care about your past criminal history if you area US Citizen. Only a few listed on 129F that you have to list or get a waiver for.
As neither my husband and I have criminal records, I’m not exactly sure of what the parameters are within that restriction. However, I do know that they (USCIS) have a tendency to look at ‘crimes’ on the beneficiaries record more closely and that at times it can cause issues.
-
Honestly? Just find a copy of a lease on the internet and amend it to meet your needs. It’s seen as a contractual agreement and could be more valid than a letter. We did that for our K1 and it was a simple one page deal.
-
Are either of you still married? Do either of you have criminal records?
Those are a couple major issues (if you have them). Not everyone has a happy family, and I think the person viewing your case will understand that. As for evidence, you need to submit everything they ask for, otherwise you get an RFE and that will delay things.
-
I don’t exactly know how you should proceed, but from what I understand there will be an issue. If you applied while you were still technically married to the first girl, it’s likely that your petition could be denied. Though I don’t know what could be done (if anything).
Have you applied yet?
