Did your IO really ask you a trick question? That would've thrown me. LOL.

Maybe two weeks until your oath ceremony? That would be awesome.

Yes! I think he knew I knew my stuff since I answered within .01 of a second when he finished the question so thought he would be funny! 😝

Of the two weeks thing is true that would be outstanding!!

  2. OK INTERVIEW OVER - RESULT - RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL!

Tampa office was really busy. I got there 30 minutes before my appointment time, got my number and quickly found out that regardless of number or appointment time, they go in no particular order. The two different ladies I set next to in the waiting room had been there for over an hour past their appointment time. They were calling out numbers in the 40's when I arrived (mine was 75). One lady had something like 59, but my number was called before hers!

As for the interview, my officer seemed one of the happier ones. I cracked a few nervous jokes with him and made small talk, which he was fine with. He was an immigrant from Poland, so that was cool to relate to him a little bit about the journey. He started with a few basic questions about me, my wife and how I started on the immigrant journey. He also asked her full name, where we met, when how we started dating, very simple, nothing strenuous. Then moved onto the civics questions. The questions I got were:

Who becomes president if the president is incapacitated?

When do we celebrate Independence Day?

    How many Supreme Court justices?

    Capital of my state?

Who becomes president after president and Vice President?

Who was the 50th president? - trick question!

Then he moved onto the YES/NO questions from the application. All were rapid fire, I think he went quicker since my first language is English. But still, all simple and easy. When he asked if I would be able to pledge the oath I said "Yes, please when can do we do it?" His reply was....."well I have to approve you first (with a smile)!"

The English test was read " WHO LIVES IN THE White House" and write "THE PRESIDENT LIVES IN THE White House" THE IPADS you have to write on are pretty awful, but they sufficed and he wasn't bothered about poor handwriting. I also had to sign a couple of boxes about reading the oath, as well as a couple of small changes he made to my application.

All quite simple. He didn't ask to see anything extra I brought, including my wifes birth certificate or marriage certificate. He did question if our daughters birth certificate was in there, because he couldn't see it in the file. But then he found it.

He kept talking to himself as he was scrolling through the application on his screen saying, yes, yes, good, good....... Then he printed off the paper and said "Congratulations"!! These were the best words I've been waiting for and was super happy to hear! I asked when the oath ceremony might be, and he said usually within a couple of weeks of the interview.

Now, I'm sitting back, relaxing, drinking a Mojito celebrating. As much as I want the oath ceremony to happen right away, it's finally relaxing knowing that its actually coming!

Good luck to everyone else waiting. It will happen. It will come. It's A LOT easier than you're expecting.

That one. And if you need living proof, I’m it. I got my green card when I was 27. I did not register although I had been in the US since I was 17 in various non-immigrant statuses. I was naturalized without any problem.

    Sweet! Thanks

of I knew how to delete the post I would!

Well, the official website says between 18-25 so...

I would go with that one?

I agree. I just got a little concerned and questioned the part in my head of 31 on some pages I've read!!! I'm being a complete idiot and just OVER worrying! I believe my case to be fairly straight forward, so fingers crossed Monday lunch time I'll be a happy man!

LOOK, EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT APPROVE MY CASE FOR CITIZENSHIP AND LEFT WITH NO HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt

Thats amazing!!! I'm so happy for you. I have my interview on Monday morning. I hope to be just as happy as you then! Let me know when your interview is and (if I get approved) we have the same ceremony date, we can have a shot of Russian Vodka together to celebrate! (fingers crossed I get approved too!)

  7. Ok. Call me a pessimist, and a worrier, but I just watched a video online that said you needed to register for selective service between 18-31. When I received my first GC I was 31 years old. I didn't apply, and I just looked through all of my paperwork from USCIS and it said that if you're between 18-25 you have to register.

Which is it???? Very last minute worrying because my N400 interview is on Monday. I know there's nothing I can do now as I'm 34, and well in less than 36 hours I'll be at the interview.

Just hoping someone can calm my nerves.

    Thanks in advance!

I had the same thing . I had the 751 and the 400 form . I went to the interview alone and everything was fine but the officer said I had to take my wife with me. and after the interview, he gave me a 692 form that says I passed the test and the decision can't be made yet. after 2 weeks of waiting, my wife and I caught our officer leaving. and we asked him and he said that we would have a second interview with his wife . then another month passed and came form 52 . in this document it is written to come together with the wife and to bring proofs . this Friday, March 15, I will have a second interview. 45 I was nervous and now I'm just waiting to see what happens.

@Nikolas2017 any news from your interview today?? 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻

Got my interview tomorrow (combi), will spend this evening doing last minute prep.

The only thing I wasn't able to provide was IRS tax transcripts, I really hope it isn't an issue. I got the formal i-751 interview letter, with the required evidences checklist, about 6 weeks after the N400 call up. There wasn't enough time to get them, ordering via mail was the only option (for me) and they're still on their way.

I do have 3 years tax returns and W2s so am hoping the IO will be happy with that. I can always offer to submit post interview, but I'll wait and see if it comes up on the day.

I've got everything crossed for a smooth outcome, but from reading about other people's experiences, I'm prepared for some roadblocks. Hoping for the best, but prepared to go into wait mode.

    🤞

wahoo! Good luck today! I'm rooting for you! Let us know how it goes!

Hey! So I was on another website and I saw some filers were saying that their estimated wait time was changed to "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time." instead of having the usual months left. I checked my status and it said the same thing, it no longer has estimated case completion is in "8 months". What about you? I am freaking out right now.

Mine changed too.....but I already have my interview date set. I bet this is a standard thing and not meant for everyone. Kind of like the whole case transferred thing on i751s this time last year. I wouldn’t worry too much.

I think it depends on the law of your country. In the Netherlands your Dutch drivers license isn't valid anymore the moment you move to another country. When you're visiting there you have to use your US license. So I think it's best to figure out your countries law on this.

Perfect. Best answers so far! I’m from UK so I’ll go with it!

    Thanks

LESSON LEARNED: For all N-400 applicants through marriage to a US Citizen, go with your spouse to the interview! After waiting this long for thr interview opportunity, it will suck if the reason why you can't be approved is because you did not come with your spouse. It's very dreadful to have to come back in for a 2nd appointment over something that could have been avoided in the first place!

I’m not sure I 100% agree with this. I mean obviously it can’t hurt, but I’m positive that his was originally supposed to be a joint interview for i751. If you’ve already received your extension, and your N400 is only for citizenship, then you do not need to take your spouse.

Anyone else here agree or disagree?

My i751 was granted, so my interview next month is only for N400. The interview letter said nothing about spouse. So I wasn’t planning on making her take a day off of work to come with me.

my i -751 not approved. but can i ask you. how did they opprove your i-751? did you went to interview or no?

I thought in one of your previous posts you had mentioned yours WAS approved. Makes sense now why your N400 hasn’t come through yet. You need another interview with your wife!!

mine was approved on evidence alone I guess. No interview. I got very lucky.

I went to immigration this morning. I specifically went with the wife and was waiting at the door where are officers usually call people for an interview. and my idea was successful. I met my officer who interviewed me. and he said. what they will do again interview together with my wife. because I first came to the interview alone and without a wife . because they didn't call her and my name was all in the letter. and my wife said that today. then I asked if the officer had given my case to the supervisor . but the officer said that there is not given since Tampa is not in place for two weeks of the supervisor .and wait for the letter and there we will tell you what to do. that was today.

So wait, did you have your i-751 get approved or not? Why do you need your wife with you??

My i-751 did get approved a few weeks ago. I wasn’t planning on taking my wife with me to my N-400.......

    anyone?!?

I don't have criminal cases . I do not have a single fine for the car. I get up at 7am and go to bed at 9pm . I love my wife and the United States of America . I answered all the questions correctly. but they said they'd talk to the supervisor. it's been 15 days, but there's no news about me . I made a meeting for Monday and I want to know something about myself and my case .

@Nikolas2017 how did your appointment go today?

Hi Nikolas2017. I had to reply on this thread because I noticed you've been distressed abt what happened to you at the Tampa office. Funny thing is, I just interviewed for N-400 there on Monday 02/04 and my interviewer told me the same thing and gave me the same form - that says I passed the test but they can't approve my application at this time (the only difference is interviewer said they have a major problem with their system so they can't do approvals and will have applicants come back LATER to complete the approvals) So relax, you're not the only one in your boat.

Oh no way! I have my interview in just over a month! I hope their system gets fixed by then. Did he give you any indication as to when you will have to go back? That seems crazy.

Can you tell me more about your interview in Tampa though please? I would love to hear more details so I know what I'm headed into.

    Thanks!
