dianakarl2014 got a reaction from Darnell in Green card production after ELIS
Now that I have read everything, I will share my status! Hoping that it helps
I check D-260 for both SSN and GC but hadn't received anything. Payed $165 on 11/5 and had POE 11/6
I got my IOE receipt number because I made a print screen of the confirmation of the payment, when I made my payment. It says USCIS Receipt Number
Been worried about not been able to check my status, and yes you do it at the regular USCIS check status link as apparently they have changed the ELIS system August 2015 so all the talk about tracking card by login in in ELIS doesn't work anymore.
Went to an SSN office last week and was told that I was issued a number on 11/10 but that they most have "forgotten " to send me the actual card Anyhow the lady was really nice and issued me a replacement card. I'm awaiting that now. But at least I got my SSN number from the clerk, so would advice to go to your local SSN office if it's been a while since you payed and entered US.
Talked to USCIS today about the GC and it was useless! He pretty much just read a script that he had infront and repeated that I can call back when it's been 60 days on what ever question I had. Also I have read that the GC plastic card will take at least 30-60 days, not even those who had the old system got it until after waiting a month. The only shame is that you can't track the card in the check status link, at least I can't as it just says error. I guess I'll just have to wait and wait...

No ones green card can be waiting for them before they enter the USA for the first time after obtaining an immigrant visa.
When you enter the USA your visa will be endorsed by the CBP at the POE. When your visa is endorsed it becomes a temporary green card valid for 1 year from entry date. (read the visa.) When you enter the CBP do some paperwork and send your visa package to the USCIS. The USCIS will match up your visa package with your ELIS account and fee. After they do this, which takes from 1-3 months approximately, then they will produce the card and mail it to you.
You can use the temporary green card, aka endorsed visa, to do anything you would be able to do with a regular hard copy green card.
    I hope that helps.

to everyone in this thread - please take some time to read over the thread. There is a lot of valuable information in here. I will no longer be on the website to help out, answer questions, or maintain this thread in any way, shape, or form. Best of luck to you all.

My husband recieved his permanent visa for Sweden in 6 weeks. lol. Good luck Helena with the U.S visa. It's pretty lenghty but filing from abroad seem speedier.
