  1. Hello,

Can anyone provide some clarity on how to proceed AFTER interview has been scheduled at embassy? It is rather confusing. What are the exact steps? Just making sure we don't miss anything.

We are scheduling the medical exam and we saw an account must be created on ustraveldocs and bring that confirmation to the exam? We created the account must did not get a confirmation like they say. We can login fine but what exactly do we bring? The date of the appointment also does not show on ustraveldocs, is this something to worry about? Once medical exam is done, basically just bring all documents to interview? Petition is for my MIL and she is not tech savvy

    Thanks

  2. Hello,

I am looking for resources/insights of some sorts to help bring MIL to the US. We petitioned since January 2020 and a few months later, petition was approved. All documents have been provided and case awaiting interview since August 2020. Since then, crickets, no updates, just the standard "pending interview date". The political situation is increasingly getting worse in Haiti and everything is worrisome. Hubby is an only child and thus she has no one else really over there. Is there anything we can do? Alternatives? Anything information will be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

  3. So hubby is applying for Citizenship (based on 3 years marriage to USC) and we need to provide proof of citizenship for me. My certificate is with my maiden name, which I did not change. (BTW, do I have to???) I know I could also send scan of my passport which I just renewed last month to have new last name (I know, long overdue, but laziness!). What would be best to provide along with his application? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you :)

I planned to apply N-400 when the time comes.

My friend got his N-400 done last year when he waited for almost 2 yrs on his I-751. He told me they will request our spouse come with us to the interview if we have not had I-751 approved.

Since we starts seeing things move forward with us right now, it would be better that we have I-751 approved before we apply for N-400.

I wonder how long does it takes from the time they accept our Fingerprint to the time they approve and send us the card?

I will travel back my country on April 5 and my expecting filing time for N-400 is April 7. Want to have thing done before my trip.

that's good to know. I am afraid to send the N400 and have the process take longer because of it.

  5. Hi Everyone :)

it's been a while since i've logged on. We received a notice from USCIS today was praying for an approval, but instead it is this

I saw many of us have gotten them but i am still wondering why?  if that is a good thing? does that mean they will finally start working on our cases? Also we were thinking of applying for N-400 at the same time. Has anyone on here done so?

Hoping for approvals for all of us :)

  6. Not sure if that is the right thread but... I have a question that I need help please.

A family member is renewing 10 year green card. Card expires late November. Biometrics are scheduled in a couple of week. Just want to know if they can travel BEFORE going to the biometric appointment??? Technically the card has not expired yet, but want to make sure before traveling.

    Thanks!

  7. Hi All,

I am in need of advice as we are preparing to send hubby's ROC docs. As far as evidence go, this is the list we have. Will that be enough? I know we need to everything but the kitchen sink but not sure what else we can add.

    Evidence of the Ongoing Relationship

    • Copy of Certificate of Marriage
    • Signed letter from wife’s father to attest living arrangement from 2015 to 2017
    • Copy of Lease Agreement showing joint occupancy
    • Copy of Utility Bill
    • Two (2) photo albums that includes photos of us together over the years
    • Copy of insurance plan showing joint policy
    • Copy of car title showing joint ownership
    • Copy of car insurance
    • Copy of cell phone bill showing both our names
    • Copy of greeting card addressed to us both
    • Copy of boarding pass of trip in 2016
    • Copy of driver licenses showing shared address
    • Copy of bank statements
    • Copy of credit card and credit card statement showing joint account
    • Copy of joint tax return for 2015 and 2016
    • Profile page from wife’s(USC) company showing the beneficiary of life insurance
    • Copy of wife (USC) company profile showing emergency contact
    • Copy of 401K plan and 401K retirement plan showing my wife as beneficiary
    • Copy of company profile showing wife as emergency contact

Questions: how many bank statements are needed? Will 5 for each year enough?

    Thanks :)

  8. Hello,

I am looking for information on how to help my mother in law get a Tourist visa. My hubby came on a K1 Visa last year. We have done the process for AOS, all went great. Now we would like to know the steps how we can have my mother in law apply for a visa to come Visit. We are looking to hold a religious weding ceremony and would like her to be there for it. Can we send an invitation letter based on that? Can anyone point me to the right direction to look for guidelines.

    Thank you :)

  9. Where did your hubby do his medical? My fiancé has been trying to call the doctor but is getting no answer. He doesn't live in PAP so he has to travel in and doesn't want to waste a trip if they wont do it without an appointment.

Also how do you know when the embassy has received the packet, he tried to call but can't get a hold of anyone.

    Thank you!!

My hubby did not live in port-au-prince either, he had to travel there to get it done. There was a list of doctors attached in Packet 3 I believe, we call them and asked when he could come in (the one he went too only did those exams in tuesdays and thursday) and he had to go back a week after to get his xray done because they couldn't do it the same day (the technician had left) There is a list on VJ on the consulate info page of a few doctors, He can try to call them. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Haiti&cty=Port-au-Prince

Also, you should see on NVC site when your package reaches the consulate, they update it from : At NVC- In Transit (when it is sent) and Ready for interview I beleive. As soon as you see that status, you or him can email the consulate to request Package 3 (which is just a list of instructions) at on of those emails: papcons@state.gov; acspap@state.gov, support-Haiti@ustraveldocs.com

To reach them I contacted the UStraveldocs number and I was able to speak to someone on several occasions. It is a US number so it was easier for me to call.

Good luck :) you guys are almost at the finish line

  10. Hi :)

personally I would not want to set up the medical first, because it has to be within 30 days or less of the interview. For Port-au-prince my hubby did not have to get an appointment, it was a walked in, however some have specific days they do medicals, I would call to inquire first. My hubby's case was stuck at NVC for 25 days in AP, I called them every single day, sometimes twice a day until they send it. We filled the DS-160 before the case got to the embassy as well, so when it got there all we had to do is pay and set up interview. Good luck :)

  11. We had the same situation and my husband had to redo the whole thing+vaccination. They refuse to give the vaccines in Haiti I do not know why, it would have been so much cheaper!. we got lucky we found a place where we paid about $200 for it all. We looked up civil surgeons on USCIS website base on our zip code, we call them all until we found the best price. Good luck for the rest of the process :)

  12. I have a question for those who had received GC after AOS interview. Hubby and I had our interview on June 7th,we've been approved on the spot and the lady who interviewed us was super nice and even showed us the paper where it said approved. the online status is still stuck on "Interview is scheduled and it's been a week and I am starting to get worried because I see almost everyone had status changed within a day a two after interview. Is that normal?? Anything we can do on our end to find out more??

    Thank u :)
