  1. I'm just as anxious as everybody else to receive a noa2, but what can I be doing in the mean time? Is it too early to be gathering my financial information ( to be honest, I'm not sure what all financial papers I need). I plan on going to see my fiance mid january, to pay a visit as well as give him his copy of the packet I sent in. I just want to keep myself busy, and be as prepared as possible. Any advice is welcome!

I sent everything that my fiance will need from me, financial documents, I-134, etc only a couple days after sending my I-129f packet. This way as soon as I get NOA2 I can email this to her, she can print it, then get her police clearance and mail off packet 3. YMMV depending on country.

  2. Getting everything together to send to my fiance with anticipation of receiving noa2, it says to send everything duplicate that you sent to the lockbox, for the life of me I don't remember what pictures I used, I made a few double prints but missing like 4 pictures and can't remmeber, does it matter if I send different ones to her? Also for the letter of intent since you need a new that is dated much closers to the interview date.

Should I just wait until she gets the interview scheduled or can I just date it...let's say...2 months from now?

I should not think the different pictures from what you sent should matter. The duplicate is more for paperwork. Different pictures means extra evidence.

For my second letter of intent to marry, I just post dated to around the date that VJ gave me as an estimate of NOA2.

  3. The 1040 is an alternative tax transcript which I had to order from the IRS.

I have certified copies of the divorce paperwork on the way but I have not found any data to show it is necessary so I am not going to wait for the certified copies.

Standard procedure for NC they do not even supply the divorcee's with certified/signed divorce decrees as they are not required for anything. I had to make special requests and pay to get one but it is taking too long so I am not going to wait for it.

  4. What is the best service when sending documents from the US to Thailand?

UPS is out of the question as most of Thailand is not a UPS "brown" region and prices are insane.

US postal service offers a 15x9.5 inch flat rate envelope for $49.95 but my documents are about 2 inches thick and I dont think they will fit in one of these.

I am hoping to send all of this tomorrow during my lunch break so all help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brett

  5. Nam9482, can you please fill in your timeline to help the rest of us keep an idea of how long people ahead of us are taking in the process?

Everything you have noted above looks good to me but you are a bit further along than I am. Good luck!

IIPenny, your kind of scaring me with the 3 years worth of 1040s or W2s. Can you point me in the direction of the people that had issues because of this? I am about to send everything to my fiance tomorrow and really do not want to delay things to get 2 more years worth of IRS documents. I am well above the income threshold and have evidence that I have had the same job for over 10 years. Is it possible that people who had issues with only one years history also were below the 125% of poverty level and had cosponsors etc...?

  6. So we mailed our I-129f packet 11-27-15 and got NOA1 on 12-3-15. I have gathered everything I needed for I-134 to send to my fiance and wanted some help going over my list of things to send. Please check it out and let me know if I am missing anything. (this is for a Thailand fiance. Thailand is known for making things very difficult for the visa process so I know some of this probably does not make sense for other countries that are a bit more lax.

    • Complete copy of the I-129f packet that I sent to the lockbox including copy of check for payment
    • 2 copies of NOA1
    • originals of all of my airline tickets and receipts from visits to see her
    • I-134 filled out and signed
    • Statement from my bank about my accounts (supplement to I-134)
    • Letter from my employer on company letterhead (supplement to I-134)
    • Tax return 1040 for 2014 (supplement to 1-134)
    • New letter of intent to marry post dated 1-1-15 and signed 3 copies, (They have been asking for some for police clearance)
    • passport style photos of me printed 2x2. Sending two of them
    • Signed copies of my passport (police have been asking for them for police clearance)
    • Copies of my previous marriage certificate and divorce papers

As soon as I get NOA2 I will forward that to her by email so she can print it and go get her police clearance. With the papers I am sending her now and what she has already gathered herself. We hope that she can mail her packet 3 to the BKK embassy the day she receives her police clearance.

Please let me know if I am missing anything as I will be sending this all tomorrow.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brett
