  1. After the interview my wife and stepson were told they needed to take the meical again. From what i have read, this should not have occurred on a K-1.

With that aside, we had done over 2 months ago. My wife called USCIS today and they can not find anything in her file.   The person she talked to did not seem to know what the problem was that had occurred and per my wife, had some confusion in angering her questions.  The RFE was due 10/14/2017 so new we are concerned it was lost, although the US postal service noted it was delivered.

Any advice would be helpful. The customer service rep told my wife seh would do a check, but that my wife would receive an update in a month.    Crazy!

  2. After the interview, due to the lateness, my wife and son had to redo their medical.  Any idea how long it takes to here back from Immigration or to receive her Green Card this point? Been over two months. Should she call to check the status? In the past, when we call it pretty much has not done anything for info.   Everything has been done in the Baltimore office in Maryland if that matters.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

  3. So, I checked the status of the Baltimore Office as my wife was told to do to see how things were progressing.

    The new dates show:

Field Office Processing Dates for Baltimore MD as of: November 30, 2016
Form Form Name Processing Cases As Of Date:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status March 13, 2016
    N-400 Application for Naturalization May 22, 2016
N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship December 3, 2015

The old date from my previous post:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status March 8, 2016

Five days?  If I am readig this correctly, they are now processing actual cases that arrived on March 13,2016?  Can someone please explain if I am reading this correctly?

    Thanks!

  4. Well, taxes are coming up which I know we all enjoy. My wife's and stepson's AOS was sent in June, an RFE came back and answered in August.  Been waiting since then to hear back from the Baltimore office.

My wife has an SS number, but they would not give my step son a number and told my wife to come back with their lawful permanent resident for his.  I am hoping this would happen before the end of filing, but I also know I can file an ITIN for my stepson.  The concern I have is the IRS wants the passport for the ITIN. It is supposed to take 6 weeks to process.  If my wife needs to go to an interview for this, I am concerned they will want his passport as well and it may be still at the IRS.

    Should I:

    A) Wait until the AOS is approved. If needed I know I can extend my tax filing time.

    B) Send in the ITIN form and hope it comes back within the time period they have stated?

    C) Was the person at the SS administration incorrect, and my stepson should have received a SS number as well?

Any info is welcome.   I love our system in the US.  Not.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

  5. So, to confirm what I had written, I went and had my fiance call. We both talked to the Immigration Agent who was very nice and directed me to this site:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do;jsessionid=bacXD1OC9RCyFagQNRyeu

I put in Baltimore, and it shows cases are being processed that were received:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status March 8, 2016

My six month projection on VisaJourney must have been from some very lucky people, as this means at this rate, our June Submission (If I do a monthly projection) won't be processed until April 2017. My wife noted her friends have said the same thing.  Crazy. 10 months to process.

  6. Go to a divorce lawyer now. Don't wait, don't fight, don't argue. Be nice, and if possible, move to somewhere else.  Depending on the state you are living in, the lawyer will let you know what do and how to handle things.  You are better off having a lawyer now at this point, than trying to figure on your own. This has nothing to do with your status, and all to do with money from what you are saying.   Save yourself time, grief and possibly some money.

Guys! Who else is the same with me - not hearing anything after getting EAD Combo?

My priority date is August 19th, and it has been 4 months+ since my application. Even though I am in San Francisco, I still thought it would be earlier than this...... Am I going to have to wait til 6 months and send a Service Request...... :crying: Finger crossed some updates come soon...

I think it may depend on where being processed. My wife and step son are being done in Baltimore which shows approx 5 1/2 months on the timeline.  I sent in an RFE which was processed on August 12 so hoping to hear something by the end of this month.

  8. I sent in the I-485 for my wife and step son. Finally called when I had no NOA, and was told the amount on the check was incorrect so they sent back. If I read correctly, the filing fees are:

    Filing Fee: $985

    Biometrics $ 85

    Step Son $635

    Employment Authorization: Free

    For a total of $1,705.

    Is this correct?

After rereading my app, and the directions, it looks like I have to file a separate I-485 for my step son which I did not do. Does this mean I need to write two separate checks as well?

Still have not received my package so hoping that clarifies things.

    Thanks,

    Kevin
