  1. USCIS is a little bit richer now - sucked the $$$$ out of the account over the weekend. OUCH! Still having loads of fun. Yin Yuan - or more detailed : qian li yin yuan yi Xian qian - two people destined to marry each other, though born a thousand miles apart, can be tied together by a single thread. :)

  2. :joy: This past Friday, my sweetheart arrived!!! This coming Tuesday the knot will be tied, the broom will be jumped, getting hitched, etc etc etc. Then on to the next stages which will be much easier now that she is here. A heartfelt thank you to all who have encouraged and supported us in our efforts. Good luck to all that are still waiting. It's worth the wait!!! :joy:

  3. Hello Everyone, I totally disappeared from this forum, my days after the interview was extremely busy, I had 2 weeks to pack everything up and flew to my love to the US!!! I proudly announce that we already got married and will pick up our marriage certificate tomorrow!! I am so happy that we made this together and thank you all for the useful tips and words of cheer! Let's meet at another forum of AOS:)) I will update my timeline accordingly finally.

Have a nice day to all!

    CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!

  4. I can't quite believe it, but my day has finally arrived. Picked up my passport, visa and BWE this morning from the courier. POE is Houston TX, this Sunday (I had booked a flight previously and just brought it forward for an extra charge). I cannot wait!

Fantastic turnaround by the embassy considering my interview was just this past Monday at 8am. 4 days receipt!

Thank you all very much for your help and good luck to those of you still jumping through these hoops. AOS and all the other shebang awaits us next.

congratulations and welcome to the States!!

  5. Congrats again Rush! Don't worry so much about the NOA-2 hardcopy, just call the NVC once it has been 2 weeks since your status changed. Once they receive it and process it, they can give you the case number, which is important. They can also tell you when it was sent to the embassy, then you can use the DHL tracking trick, see the link to the forum below. Some consulates want packet 3 and 4 before they let you schedule an interview, not sure about China. Don't forget the medical as well. My uncle married a woman from China about 4 years ago, he was there for the medical and interview (waited outside), if there is anything you want me to ask them just let me know. Nice to be out of USCIS at least!

Tanya will be here next Friday, it's really hard to believe, for both of us! It's going to be strange after all this time seeing her here, but fun, since it will be her first time in the US.

Have a great weekend too :)

Thanks for the info Jeff. Did Tanya get here yet?

  6. HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!

Patiently waiting hardcopy of NOA-2 - that's right folks he said NOA-2! Fiance already filled out and saved DS-160 and is starting to check for interview dates. We are trying to gauge the packet being at the embassy right before her interview and then I can finally relax. Filling out affidavits of support this weekend to send to China this week ( rest assured I will read them over 12 times before licking the stamp). I am reading nothing but good news from everybody. Congratulations to all. Have a great weekend! Ciao! :)

  7. K-1 approved this morning, in and out of the embassy within 45 minutes. Thank goodness for that, I can breathe again!

I've left a very detailed embassy review for anyone interested in reading here. I won't double post it, but summarise a few of my experiences here.

Biggest tip I can offer anyone with an upcoming interview is make sure you refresh yourself on your original K1 submissions. Read them cover to cover. I found the interview quite an anxious and nerve wracking process which as a result made me innocuously stumble one of my questions and the interviewer stating she was 'a little confused'. Additional questioning settled this and the fumble evidently didn't impact the final result, but at that moment I felt myself falling through earth's crust into molten lava just purely because it seemed I was not in full control of words coming out of my mouth. Don't discount nerves, it can affect people differently and even the most genuine and transparent people can have 'rabbit in the headlight' moments that can make them appear disingenuous.

I see my CEAC status has updated to Administrative Processing already this evening (which I'm led to believe is normal), so here's hoping I get my passport and BBE issued nice and prompt. I'll update as we go, along with answering any questions here about my review or experiences if it can help others.

Good luck to those of you waiting, hang on in there, your day will come!

    Congratulations!
