I didn't know that not everyone receives a reminder notice. Good thing I asked! Thank you all for the response!

Hello, everyone!
My green card expires on December 21, 2017. From my understanding, my husband and I would have to file Removal of Condition on or after September 21. However, I haven't received a reminder notice to apply for ROC. Is that normal? Do I have to have the reminder notice before I send my application or I can file without receiving it?
Thank you!

Thank you for your response! We just mailed my husband's and mother-in-law's I-865 forms yesterday. We didn't include other documents but we did keep the USPS receipt. I'm hoping my future mails from USCIS will end up on our new address though.

Hi, everyone! I am going to be doing ROC on September. My husband and I just moved. I read that I can change my address online however we have to send in Form I-865, Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address for my husband/sponsor. My question is, do we have to send any other documents with the form? Or do I just mail the form by itself?
Also, my mother-in-law who is a joint sponsor, moved with us, does she have to send in Form I-865, Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address too?
Thank you in advance!

Hello, everyone! I've been searching for awhile but can't find an answer to my question.
I came to the US last December and got my SSN on December 28th. I am currently unemployed and don't have health insurance yet.
Can my husband claim me on his tax return this year? If so, do I need to have gealth insurance?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, everyone!
I would like to say thank you so much to VisaJourney and its members for guiding my husband and I with our CR-1 visa application. You guys made the whole process so much easier! I'm so glad that I found this website
I now have my US Visa and Packet, Emigrant sticker on my passport and my flight is tonight! I am very excited and I can't wait to see my husband again and finally spend the rest of our lives together
Thank you and best of luck to all!

Hi, we didn't send any chat or call logs when we submitted our I-130 packet to USCIS. We just sent the following and we didn't had any problems with it:
Pictures of US, Pictures with Family members, Wedding pictures
Bank Certification of Joint Account
Flight and Hotel Itinerary for Honeymoon Trip
His Flight Itinerary when he visited me
Best of luck!

Hi, everything you need to know about the CFO is can found on this site ► Completing the CFO
It helped me a lot preparing for my CFO seminar.
All the best!

Hi, my Visa was issued on December 7 but the status on CEAC updated again on December 8 (which I think was the day they printed the visa). The tracking on ustraveldocs and 2GO showed nothing until December 10. Later that day, around 5pm, I received a message from 2GO saying my Visa is ready for pick up.
Up till now, my status on ustraveldocs says "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery" but I already have my Visa in hand.
Keep trying to track your status on 2GO website using your case number, UID or passport number!
All the best!

And thanks to you too, Greenbaum! I was trying to remember who has the other account that has the arrow and link for K1-VISA! Your site has been really helpful too! I don't know if it's just me tho but I couldn't click the links on your site. Again, thank you

Before I attended my CFO seminar, I read a lot of CFO seminar experiences here on Visajourney and most of them were negative so I was terrified to attend it. I even felt the it was more nerve racking than the Medical and interview so I thought why not share my good CFO experience.
I read Hank's guide so many times! (Thank, Hanks_!) and made sure that I have all my documents with me. (Unfortunately, I didn't have my original CEMAR and Parental advice letter so that worried me more). I didn't want to miss it again or get rescheduled cause my flight would be on the 20th of December. (I missed my original appointment which was on November 11, went to SMEF-COW and PRISM and got told that they don't do the CFO seminar anymore.
Yup, I read so much and realized too late that most of them were posted 2-3 years ago lol my bad.I got to the CFO bulding at 1:00pm and they didn't accept me anymore because I was scheduled at 9:00am). And I left home really early so I wound't be late!Do not be late on your scheduled appointment and make sure that the thread you are reading and getting information is recent!
So here's my CFO Seminar Experience:
6:00 am – There were already a long line outside the CFO building
6:50 am – The guards and a CFO employee started to let people in. I submitted my PhilHealth ID and Appointment confirmation letter and was given an ID with letter “F” on it.
7:30 am – We were instructed to go to the 3rd floor. The CFO employee (1) asked if we have visa or not and gave us forms to fill out. If you have your visa on your passport, you will be given 2 forms and if you don’t have your visa yet, only 1 form will be given to you. Another CFO employee (2) checked the forms and made sure that everything was answered and instructed me to wait for my name to be called.
The CFO employee (1) called my name and instructed me to sit down, asked for my husband’s birthday and took a picture of me for the GCP certificate.
8:00 am – We were told that we could eat breakfast or stay inside the room and wait for the seminar at 9:00 am.
9:20 am – The counselor was late. He introduced himself, gave us pamphlets about Departure Checklist and Women's Rights and started the one-on-one interview. He played videos for us to watch about immigration and naturalization while we were waiting for our names to be called.
Questions that were asked to me:
- When did you get married?
- Have you meet his parents?
- When did he acquire his US citizenship?
- What are your plans when you get there?
Documents that were asked from me:
- Naturalization Certificate of my husband
I was very nervous and shaking and all but my interview lasted less than 5 minutes! I was relieved when the interview ended and was really glad when he instructed me to go back to the room and just wait for the group session.
11:00 am - Started the group session. He discussed the following:
- About the CFO and its objectives
- 10 Characteristics of Successful Relationships
- Intermarriage and Cultural differences
- Physical, Verbal, Emotional, Financial, Physiological Abuse
- Getting State ID, Driver’s License, SSN and Green Card
I was so busy with negative self-thoughts the whole waiting time before the whole seminar started but it turned out really well. To be honest though, I knew already the topics that were discussed specially about the IDs, SSN and Green card as I've read them online and on Visa Journey.
12:45 nn - The seminar ended and we were instructed to go on the first floor and lined up on the cashier to pay 400 pesos. The CFO Employee (3) started calling names so the line wasn't followed. I paid 400 pesos and gave my passport.
1:30 pm - My name was called and my passport was released with the GCP certificate and Emigrant sticker.
And don't forget to surrender the CFO ID and get your valid ID back before leaving the building.
There was one in our group that was asked to come back. I suggest you take all the papers you brought to the interview and make extra copies of your documents too! Also, I've seen a lot of people calling and texting their partners because they couldn't answer the questions on the form.
As long as you know all the information about your fiance or spouse (past relationships, educational attainment, mother's maiden name) and you have all the documents with you, the seminar will be as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Good luck to everyone and God bless!
-
Since my passport is in my maiden name, will my CR-1 visa, green card and IDs such as state ID, driving license and social security card be under my maiden name?
If so, what can I do to get those changed to my married name after I move to the US? Is that going to be a long process?Thank you.
-
Hi, everyone! My maiden name has Ñ. On my birth certificate, passport, marriage certificate and CENMAR, it is spelled as Ñ. However, it is spelled as N on my NBI clearance and NVC emails. Should I be worried?
-
Hi, my husband called NVC earlier today. Did you call them today? Hope you get yours very soon!
-
Interview scheduled for November 12!
-
Don't forget your Birth Certificate, NBI Clearance and AOS Cover sheet. Good luck on your journey!
-
Congratulations, K & V!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, davidhutchins654, jebetot and zsa zsa shing!
I wasn't in a rush but when I found out that you can't have your medical exam when you're on your period and wait for like 5 days after your last period before you can undergo physical exam, I got worried. So I thought of having my medical exam in advance.
@Hank_, I have received a Welcome Letter from NVC, AOS and IV Fee Invoice showing our case number and even a checklist saying that they are going to forward our case to the embassy. Will these suffice?
-
Good day, po! Our case just got completed on September 30th, we haven't received a case complete confirmation email as well as interview schedule yet. However, I am hoping and expecting to have a November interview so I am now getting ready for the next step.
I have read that the following are needed for the medical:
- Php 11, 515.00
- SLEC Online Registration Confirmation
- NVC Interview Letter
- DS-260 Confirmation
- Immunization Record
- 2x2 Photo
- Passport Biographic Data Photocopy
- Original Passport
My question is, can I have my medical exam in advance and without an interview schedule letter? Can I provide something else?
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, po!
-
I would call NVC.
Thank you, dweels76! We called NVC and was told to just ignore the checklist cause our case was completed. However, we are still going to bring a corrected form I-864EZ on the interview.
-
Hi everyone, don't know if anyone can help shed some light, our case got completed on September 30th but received a checklist today, October 1st.
Please review the instructions below to complete a new I-864EZ Affidavit of Support form or to obtain the missing supporting documents.Form I-864EZ: Assessment Letter for PETITIONER's NAME:[x] In Part 1. Qualifying to use Form I-864EZ, please correct the following...[x] You must check either "Yes" or "No" in response to questions a, b, and c.I am confused cos under the "Instructions for: BENEFICIARY's NAME", nothing is listed. For "Financial Evidence", it has no list or specific documents listed. And that correction on I-864EZ is the only specific instruction listed on the checklist. My question is,Is my understanding that there are no missing supporting documents and additional financial evidences needed and we only need the corrected I-864EZ right? It is stated on the email that we don't need to send the corrected I-864EZ form to the NVC instead, the beneficiary will take it to the interview and the Consular Officer will review at the time of the interview. I'm still glad that we don't have to wait for another 30 days for a checklist review! God is good!
Can we trade in our car while the ROC is in process?
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

My husband and I submitted our I-751 Removal of Conditions on Residence on October 2017 and our car’s sale contract is included as evidence.
Is it possible to trade in our car while the ROC is in process?
Please enlighten us. Thank you in advance!
