  1. Hi All,

After over 200 days of wait in USCIS TSC we received a response to a service request:

The status of my service request is:

We have placed your case on a processing hold, because the required security checks to be completed on all applicants who apply. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.

We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

This is pretty clear to me. I know every case is different but I am desperate for some information. So my questions for those who have been in this situation are:

    • How long did it take for you to have a decision after this message?
    • Have you taken any action/contacted anyone that helped accelerate this process?

    Thank you!

In my case, it took around 2 or 2 and half months.

  2. I called the NVC again this morning and they confirmed to me that they have sent my physical file on the 20th. And electronic file has been sent before that. The consulate kept telling me that my case is not fully transferred. Thiet answer is like a automatic reply. Should I keep submitting inquiry with my main concert is to receive electronic instruction letter???

  3. It has been three weeks since NVC stated that they sent my physical file to the consulate. But the consulate kept telling me that my case is not fully transferred yet, and they didn't answer when I requested to have a electronic instruction letter. What can I do now?? Keep submitting inquiry ??

  4. Are they working on Labor day???

You should send them an inquiry asking them to confirm the receipt of your package. And, while you're on it, explain to them about your different mailing address, then ask them to email you a copy because your fiancee will not be at the registered address to receive the packet.

I think it saves time to do it now rather than wait for another week or two.

I think they're closed for labor day. I will sure do this on tuesday. Thank you frongear.

  5. The NVC sent my physical file to the consulate on the 20th. Showed consulate received it on the 24th. Can I submit a inquiry asking for instruction letter now? Or at least confirm that you already receive my physical file?? Thanks alot

  6. They won't be able to update the address now. And they couldn't not answer to my question properly. How do I know whether they send the packet 3 out or not? I asked if I'll be notify and they gave me another answer. What should I do?

  7. I didnt email them... but will go ahead and do so now!

I started calling the NVC 4 days after I received NOA2..... but could never get through to anyone. I finally got thru sometime the next week (i think toward the end of the week), and she told me it had already been sent to the embassy in Montreal two days before that. This past Monday the ceac.state.gov was already showing Ready!! It went pretty fast.. so since it seems to be on a roll.. I will email embassy today and see whats next. I tried calling yesterday, but I couldnt get a live person.

I don't know how's it in Canada but the consulate in Vietnam won't answer anything . They told me that everything now will be contact by email. Mine showed ready few days ago. Checked DHL tracking and saw the case is there as well but they said that our physical file is not there and that they won't be able to send our packet 3 to our email. The letter in the packet 3 is all were waiting for right now. Keep us posted.

  8. Folks,

Our case is at the consulate and ready now. I aslo have submitted the inquiry about our packet 3. When I filled out her DS-160 I said no to the same mailing address and put the address where I wanted them to send her packet 3 to. So, will they send it to the mailing address or her actually address in her household register?

    Thanks

  9. Hi guys i sent my package w signature conformation on aug 14th i check money order status using 1 (866) 459-7822 i read online it states if it says ur money order matches that means its NOT CASHED!? I have not received an email or text and i did send the notification form. I went to post office and they said w out a tracking number i cant track. Anyone have an idea how long i should wait before contacting someone from NVC?

Can you make it clear? Have you receive your NO1 yet?

Can you make it clear? Have you receive your NO2 yet?

  10. Ok Thanks! I will keep trying. =) Will they eventually send a notice that it has been sent to the embassy? (just in case I never get through on the phone?) I just dont want to be waiting, if there is something we can be doing in the meantime.. I dont know if it is NVC or the Embassy that tells us the next step...

Congrats on your recent approval. and here are the next few steps

1/ within a week USCIS will send your case to the NVC

2/ give it about another week to even call the NVC for your new case number and the invoice number ( in my case was 7 days)

3/ you can then check your status at ceac.state.gov ( aslo remember to ask the NVC when is the estimate time they will send your petition to the consulate)

4/ as soon as you get your new case number you can go ahead and create a profile at ustraveldocs.com. From here you can fill out the DS-160. Make sure to print out the confirmation paper. You can then go ahead take the cash deposit intructions and the DS-160 confirmation paper to pay for the fee ( check out where to pay. Its different in every country). Once your fiancee pay the fee and get the receipt. You'll need it to schedule her interview.

Keep checking your status at ceac.state.gov because once they change it to "ready". I would go ahead and submit the inquiry to receive packet 3 by email. It's just a letter along with their instruction how to do all the things I just typed above for you. I would aslo give it a few days to make sure that the consulate have the actual case. Your fiance then will have to mail the DS-160 confirmation paper, along with her 2x2 picture and copy of her passport to the consulate.

    I hope this helps.

  11. Yeah, that kind of sounds like being able to submit inquiries after being out of processing time - totally useless and they ignore it anyways. However, since we are at 10 months today and I am slowly loosing my mind/ patience/ you name it with this process I am a firm believer in the try-anything-to-do-something-so-as-not-to-loose-my-mind-completely method of approaching this.

Try waiting for 300+ days without any info on what in the world is going on. Believe me, it is considerable harder than waiting 8-9 months. At least in that range you are not feeling so alone, because you still have the company of other filers who are in the same boat ;-)

The active filers waiting a similarly long time were a June filer who waited 11 months for NOA2 and got no outright approval at the embassy stage and a September filer who waited 323 days for NOA2 and is currently waiting to GET to the embassy stage. 2.5 more weeks for us to match that.

So even though you are probably right we´ll give it a shot anyways... :-)

This is absolutely unreal you're still waiting. I just hate for oct and even some of sept are still waiting. While a case from CSC NOA1 was early August and got approved four days after. How on earth can this be fair? I really don't know. I'll keep you in my prayers. I was stuck at TSC for 258 days and it wasn't easy. I know how it feels, believe me. Keep us posted. Good luck

  12. whats the contact for the ombudsman office? I found all the info on what they say they do, but no contact...

I wouldn't even bother to contact ombudsman office. Been there and done it. Been told to wait for another 2 months when I signed a released form to them. A week after my approval, they sent me an email saying that my case has been approved and my file will be closed at their office. Just my experience. Good luck.

  13. FINALLY!!!!! FINALLY!!!!! FINALLY!!!! We got APPROVED!!! I cannot beleive it... RFE response came very quickly.. only about two weeks!!! I am so excited, I dont even know what the next step is!! :joy::joy::joy::joy::dance::dance::dance::dance:(L)(L)(L)(L)

Hang in there Novembers, or any month for that matter, there is light!!! It's a long wait, but when it comes, boy, am I smiling!!

Big congrats. It's about time for the rest of nov filers.

  14. Folks,

According to the other timeline. I think the consulate will still send packet 3 to my fiancée and she'll have to return it back to the consulate once she's done. Is this correct? My fiancée is in DongNai and about two months ago they just got their address changed by law. So which address should I put in the DS-160? Because her household register book still remain the same. Thanks
