  1. I forgot to answer a question on the 129F.. There one that ask if i was ever convicted of a crime and all that other stuff on there. Me like an idiot I over looked that question but I answered it and sent it right back to them. Which is why I was hoping that once they received that that my case would be approved.

    _________

However.... as opposed to most of the other replies to your Q,... I think, if I am a reviewer, THAT Q IS PRETTY DARNED IMPORTANT AND.... if you forgot to answer it AND ONLY IT.... I'm already suspect, upon initial review of your petition. So, I'm going to send some RFE's your way. I wouldn't expect an easy ride, now... until they are satisfied that your past is clear. (or, ... is it???)

  2. According to some of the responses here on page 2, (starting with darnell),... I think it is in fact true that, people drink more, getting closer and closer to Christmas....

...........(probably even true in the non-christian half of the planet....

.... firmly expecting darnell to give US exact stats on what percentage of the planet is christian or not)

  3. an end to this mini-crisis: I went to the post office, not far away, and he said "they received it on the 16th" , so that was within 3 days after being mailed.

So, I guess to answer my own initial Q: No. The uscis does not send email or text message upon receipt of responses to RFE'S....

.............So, now I can climb back on board the ANTICIPATION TRAIN of WAITING for APPROVAL.:whistle:

    Senor Claus????

  4. no.... sorry Dave/Roza... I got the lil green receipt they give you when you mail it.

Haven't got the green card back yet, which then lets you know that they got it.

THAT's why I'm asking about... IF YOU GET AN EMAIL/TEXT MESSAGE... when they receive responses to RFE's.... because as Hank states... sometimes the USPS can really screw things up. and down. and all around.

  5. Darnell,... that is my lament, at the beginning of this post....THAT I didn't send it "next-day" mail.

Regular, however Certified, is what I believe was done.

I've got the lil green receipt.

but, I meant to send it NEXT DAY DELIVERY.

A hundred other things on your mind,... end of day, trying to get to the post office before they close, etc.

    My Bad. :bonk:

  6. Looks like a tracking number on the side of this CERTIFIED RECEIPT.

I Know it's Christmas time and all, but I think a week is still more than long, for an envelope to get from here to there.

Mostly.... just wondering if they text and email, when they receive responses to RFE's? ? ?

Or,... if since I have not got the return receipt, NOR TEXT, nor email... then, they have not received my envelope yet.

  7. I made a Bone Head mistake last Tuesday when sending in my Responses to the RFE!

Sure! I sent it certified mail, return receipt requested.

But in my haste, mixed with always a bit of anxiety that so many of us experience when sending/responding/communicating with

USCIS,... I meant to, but didn't ALSO tell the postal worker: NEXT DAY DELIVERY!

So,... it's been a week, and I'm still waiting.

That seems a bit long, Louisiana to Vermont.

I'm gonna call uscis and/or go talk to the post office today.

QUESTION: Does USCIS ALSO send text message/email upon receipt of a response to an RFE?

thanks for your help and Best Wishes for the Holiday Season!

you might want to search this link to 'other posts regarding the same issue' that you are asking about.

    ________

AZ: "DUI's are not an issue because it is not a crime of moral turptitude".... Would you like to go a few rounds with a handful of MADD Mothers over this question? And, since the OP is from another country, it would be helpful to her, if the word was spelled correctly. turpitudes.

  9. this really is a ridiculous thread (even more than most, here on VJ)

If you sent a few - 2 or 3 - western unions for small change - $100 usd, more or less - then include it. No big deal, as long as you have PLENTY of OTHER EVIDENCE.

If you sent her BUNCHES OF $$$ VIA Western Union... it's suspect, probably.

If you never sent anything.... so what? A Non-Issue.

  10. And, of course I should have entitled this thread:

....."What's the TYPICAL, usual amount of number of RFE's received per case, if any at all?"

Darnell, I'm recommending you for position at USCIS as a reviewer,... because you are a person of detail, directness, and precision. AND, Maybe you can then help some of the good VJ people along quickly in this process

  11. Curious, what did you end up doing with that? Did you send in a notarized affidavit stating you never got married to that individual?

    Good luck btw!

    ___________

    Hey there, J and S!

I took YOUR advice about the 'Non Impediment' statement from the Clerk of Courts Office.

Mostly... because YOUR ADVICE CONCURRED WITH the second tiered advisor that I spoke with, same day, week ago last Monday, at the USCICS, ... When I attempted cordially to press them with EXACTLY WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD Do/WANT DO YOU WANT ME TO... DO????

That advisor told me to do what you recommended.

    They did the search.

And, then issued a statement called a CLERK OF COURTS NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF MARRIAGE.

    Signed and Sealed.

Then, I had my One-and-Only Divorce Attorney from 8 years ago, who is now also a client/friend of mine write a statement on her letterhead as to the same information.

Lastly, I wrote a statement myself, witnessed by my daughter, and notorized by the 'sister of my ex-'... that I had NOT EVER MARRIED N.C.M. (1st colombian fiancee, 2008).

So, I had 3 documents that I sent today with a nice cover letter in RESPONSE TO THE R.F.E.

I really don't expect anything until after the first of 2012, with the Holidays upon us.

But.... all you VJ'ers will be amongst the first to know... if I am wrong and/or when NOA2/APPROVAL is issued!

  12. Darnell... somehow, I figured you'd come up with THE EXTREME CASE SITUATION.

Rather than, an average,... a norm.

117!? Interesting, however. For about 3 seconds.

and, my timeline is here... on my signature.

Really..., I don't have time to mess with it, and I think it's mostly useless, since every case is unique. Just for you though, I'll get around tuit... someday. Maybe after Christmas/New Years and I've got a couple more important items/projects completed.

  13. I wrote a post about an RFE I received last a week ago Monday, (for which I'm putting my responses in the mail, back to Vermont today).

It was an RFE that clearly was appropriate, yet unexpected (about me not saying, "We Never Got Married", when I asked a lady 3 years ago, to return to Colombia, within the 90 days, which she did).

    I don't expect any more RFE's! :)

    But.... you never know.

What I'm wondering is,... IS IT MOST USUAL,... that they have scoped the entire package and ONE RFE IS USUAL, AVERAGE FOR THOSE THAT RECEIVE ONE???

Or, is it common, that AFTER RESPONDING to an initial RFE, that folks have also received a second? or, third? more?

  14. Actually, you had every reason to be pissed at the nature of the RFE. The adjudicator at USCIS has the authority to approve the petition even without a signature on the G-325A and just forward the petition to the Embassy for signature at the time of the interview.

Sounds like you just had an adjudicator who had nothing better to do than issue a RFE when he wasn't REQUIRED to.

Sorry this happened, but your petition should be back in line quickly for approval after USCIS receives the signed copy.

Good luck in the rest of the process.

    ____________

What good does it do, ... to be pissed?

AZ,... respectfully,... I'm wondering how you know such intricate workings of the adjudicators at uscis? that they have the authority to approve a petition without a signature?? Signatures in our culture are......PRETTY DAMNED IMPORTANT! as is the lack of signature.

Maybe the adjuticator's dad or mom died... i.e., they were having a really bad day. .... (an adjuticator with NOTHING BETTER TO DO???)

"but your petition should be BACK IN LINE" shortly???

Damn... just yesterday, someone else was proclaiming how when you get an RFE, .... YOU GO TO THE BACK OF THE LINE!

Everyone but Me.... of course!:thumbs::whistle::innocent:
