How many days between you received NOA1 and biometrics exemption letter?
Approximately 3 weeks.

Haven't logged in for a while. Just wanted to share I also received a biometrics exemption letter last month. Hope everyone is hanging in there.

For some reason I can't remember for the life of me how I sent my SIS packet. How did you send your ROC packet, in a ring binder, plastic sleeves, folders, etc. Not sure which is the best way
USCIS doesn't recommend any of those ways according to their filing tips.
I had everything organized by paperclips which I ended up removing. I used sticky tabs at the bottom to denote a new section.

That's what we did.

My cheque / check was cashed today! Feeling relieved - now waiting for the NOA to arrive in the mail.

thank you! I didn't realize that was the case. This kinda sucks =(
I got it in 7 days after it was delivered to California Service Center.
I'll be checking my bank account to see if my check gets cashed. My package was delivered to the California Service Center on April 4th and still haven't heard anything...

They received the package on 4/5, NOA was dated 4/6 (Friday) and it was in today's mail. So exactly a week from when they got the package. I'm guessing it probably didn't hit USPS until Monday though.
Wow that was fast. Mine was delivered on April 4th but I haven't heard anything since...

Check is pending to be cashed today! At last!!!
Checked mine and it has yet to be cashed. Hope mine happens soon!

@LinJoe I had affidavits written and signed by my in-laws who we live with (to explain our lack of rental agreement, utility bills, etc.)
For credit card statements, I provided everything from the month we got married up until the closure of the card (in November 2017). For T-Mobile I included every statement showing our family plan.
I suggest writing a letter to explain any gaps the officer may find in your documentation. My husband returned to school, so we wrote and signed a letter explaining that he left his job to pursue a different career and isn't working at the moment.

You and me both! I've been reading up on N400 and what's required so I won't be as frazzled next year around this time.

1 minute ago, lance&carrie said:Ok thanks for the advice on vacationing...I feel too nervous to anyway I think after 2 returns! Yes I also put my copy of green card right after the form and also included a table of contents but......someone was feeling lazy that day!
That's really frustrating. I'm sorry to hear that, hoping for better luck for everyone all around.
-
Wow that's frustrating. I included a copy of my conditional green card right after my I-751 form, I hope they don't overlook it.
Can't provide any advice on your vacation plans, but maybe others can chime in.
There's no spreadsheet for April filers, not sure what the best way is to create one. If anyone wants to, please feel free.
5 minutes ago, lance&carrie said:Just submitted mine for the 3rd time!
First time (sent March 7th, delivered 9th) I had downloaded the form beginning of December and then didn't even think to check again before filing in March and the form expired in mid December! Sent the whole package back all pulled apart. Resent it on March 19th (same day I got it back from USCIS) and was delivered on 21st, I received it back today 4/2 saying I need to include a copy of I-551 which is my green card and was ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE! It was still in there when they returned it to me so they must be buying time or something?! Resent today...third time lucky hopefully! My green card expired on March 21st and I'm due to leave the country on vacation in 2 weeks....if anyone has any ideas how to speed this up..........???? Or whether it would be too risky to leave the country if I haven't received my NOA yet? I can have my family post it to me once it comes for returning to USA....comments?
Is there a spreadsheet started for April filers?

We included two notarized affidavits from my in-laws that attended our wedding. We also live with them, so we used the affidavits to explain our living situation (and lack of rental agreement, public utility bills, etc.)

Just mailed our I-751 package to CSC this morning! Used a USPS Priority Flat Rate box and it should reach Laguna Niguel by Wednesday.
Was eligible to submit my petition since February 12th and finally got around to it. Looking forward to hearing from other April filers!

Has anyone who is AOS from visa waiver (aka not a K1) received an interview date or GC approval?
I feel like everyone who has been approved without an interview is adjusting from K1, rightfully so as you've already been interviewed.
Not the case for me. My EAD/AP card will be coming in the mail today and the last update made on my I-485 was October 15th.
-
EAD was approved not too long ago! I wasn't lucky enough to bypass the EAD/AP part like a bunch of folks here, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
-
Thanks for the tip! I'll be calling them first thing tomorrow morning since my case has now passed the 75-day mark. Hope you'll hear some good news soon!
Hello Fellow October AOS Filers,
Just a little information, this is my first time posting on the thread but I have been waiting on EAD and Advanced Parole since October 5, 2015, I called today and was able to get a service request for the EAD since it has been at least 75 days.
So if you're still waiting, call USCIS and give them your information and they will open a Service Request, and he explained to me that it just puts a notice to the service center that the 90 days is approaching for your particular case and they will send you an update within 2 weeks. It basically just puts attention to your case and a hopeful expedited approval. I read where someone did a Service Request and got an approval within 4 days. Fingers Crossed!
Just an FYI! Hope it helps!
Blessings,
Mrs. Ashley Powell

I think I missed the approval bandwagon and I probably will not hear anything until next week at this rate. No updates from my end.
-
Congratulations to everyone here! Sounds like Christmas came early for many
Still waiting on my AP/EAD approval...NOA1 was on October 15th and nothing from USCIS since.

To those who are concerned over their petition/NOA2 expiry date, just know that is not your K-1 visa expiry. This is just an (unforunate) example of what can go wrong if the CBP officer is being difficult and not knowing the rules. It's evidently a rare case on VJ and I never imagined it could happen to me.
As an update, I mentioned before that the officer at the Montreal airport inputted my first name incorrectly on my I-94 (only typed in half my name). I was able to get it corrected by a CBP Deferred Inspection Site, however they caused another issue for me. Now on my I-94 has a false departure date with no port of entry/exit listed (I am positive that this was created in error since the date of my "departure" matches the date th CBP officer corrected my name. The deferred I dealt with replied with this:
"The record in the CBP internal database is correct; the public I-94 search database appears to be showing a departure (9/28/2105) for some reason, which is nothing to worry about. Your application for converting your K1 visa to resident will not be affected by this issue. The USCIS officer assisting in your application will not be utilizing the public database as the only resource for your travel history. We hope that the name correction we entered has assisted you in obtaining the documents needed, and if you need any further assistance, please let us know."
I will be going to another CBP deferred inspection site later this month tp try getting it removed anyways. I have also made an Infopass apointment just incase that deferred inspection site won't do anything to correct my I-94's travel history. I hope this gets resolved so I can finally get an SSN and a driver's permit. What a ride to say the least.

Mailed my AOS package on October 8th, arrived at the lockbox on the 10th, and received three emails yesterday.
-
Hello,
I entered as a K-1 last Friday. On my I-94, my first name was entered incorrectly. I contacted a CBP Deferred Inspection site and they were able to fix it and now when I retrieve up my I-94, my first name appears to be correct. The officer that did my name change said in the email: "We corrected your first name in our non-public accessible data base, but this may not reflect the public data base you have access to." I assumed that was the SAVE database.
This morning I went into the SSA to apply for a SS card and the lady processing my application was able to find me in the database (which I'm assuming is SAVE), however my name change did not appear on their end - my incorrect name is still present. My question is, does it take a couple of days for a name change to cascade across diferent federal databases?
I contacted the CBP site that dealt with my name change, asked specifically if my name was updated in the SAVE-AVSI database, and the officer responded with: "The SSI may need to choose a different database to verify your information, I don't recognize the one you mentioned."
Should I contact SAVE.HELP@dhs.gov for help?
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
So I'm in the U.S. now and the wedding took place on Friday. Believe or not, the CBP officer in Montreal did not enter my complete first name on my I-94 and now I have to get that sorted out before I proceed with my AOS...
Anyways it's been a whirlwind and I'm thankful for the community here. I hope this thread has been helpful, or at least has shed some light on what possibly could happen with an expired petition and a very uncooperative CBP agent. Although none of this should have happened to begin with, I hope that the steps I took to resolve this situation can help someone else in the future should it happen to him/her. To recap what I did:
- Contacted the consulate that issued my visa in the most direct manner possible
- Went in person to have my visa reissued and my package resealed (another option I was given was to mail my documents in)
- Left out of a different POE
- Filed a congressional complaint

OP here -- can't believe I started this thread over a year ago on 4/2/18. Just happened to login to my USCIS account, and noticed I received an approval message!
