  1. My case creation date changed just now to 6-Jul! How long did y'all wait after that to see "issued"??

It's so close yet so far away!!!

I had my interview on the 1 July and experienced the same changes as you describe: the case creation date changed today and it went to AP.

Hope it will show 'issued' soon!

  3. Well...it's now over two weeks since Knightsbridge Doctors received the letter from my doctors.... :crying:

I was kinda hoping that the "two weeks" that mostly everyone else had would be due yesterday/today.

I'm really hating waiting for the postman every day just to be disappointed.

I guess I should wait another week before contacting the embassy but I'm really down.

4 weeks since my medical.... It's not going according to plan.

    :clock:

I am sure you will get it by the end of this week

  4. Hey all,

    Forgive the desperation and "waiting-caused-impatience"...

After an annoying 2-week delay because I needed to get a letter from my Doctor, my medical results (which I passed) finally reached the Embassy on Friday 29th May (it will be 1 week ago tomorrow).

Obviously I am now waiting for the golden letter of the Interview date to fall through my letterbox. CEAC shows Ready and last updated on Monday 1st June.

Can anyone who has recently received their packet 4 (interview date) tell me roughly how long it was from their medical? (I know the medical results and courier take a few days to get to the embassy).

Was it 2-3 weeks? Less? More?

I appreciate any understanding. I know these questions get asked regularly.

I'm just trying to set my expectations! :)

I miss my fiance SO much!

    Steve

I had Medical on 14 May and got interview letter on 29 May. So 2 weeks and 1 day from Medical to Packet 4

  6. They return your originals, but do pause in the lobby before you leave to make sure you actually got them handed back to you and there are no more questions you might have. It's a far better place to get things right than asking on VJ after you get home.

Thank you so much! I will make sure to pause in the lobby :)

  7. Gather & Bring All Required Documents

The applicant is responsible to bring all required original civil documents, and photocopies of the original civil documents, to the visa interview. Failure to bring all required original documents and the photocopies to the interview may cause delay or denial of the visa. The following documents must be available at the interview:

Will London Embassy return original civil documents or it's better to bring certified copies?

  8. Ayisi&Phyllis, April&Daniel:

To explain my "hostile tone" or "moral objection": No, no moral objection to disclosure, but yes, it does annoy me that in this process it seems as if we immigrants are basically regarded as poor, and that we from day one rely either on our fiancés (spouses) or will turn to the state. It does not seem to be an option that we have savings that will last for a while.

Babushka545, kzielu: Certainly I will have to live off my savings for a while longer than until the day of marriage, but with AOS comes I-864, and then the original affidavit is void. So that is only good until the day I file for AOS, right? I do understand the line of thinking that the now-fiancé would have to be able to support me in the long term, in case I don't find work or similar, but that's what I-864 is for, then.

I think I will actually write to the consulate. I need to mail the documents before, so bringing them to the interview is not the question.

That's great you are able to support yourself up to the AOS stage or longer if that's the agreement with your fiance! Hope German Consulate has an option for not filing I-134

  9. It just annoys me that my F has to disclose his financial situation at the K-1 visa stage, while nobody asks me how much money I have to support myself until we get married (less than 90 days, yes, my savings will allow that).

    travel.state.gov states:

"You may present evidence that you are able to financially support yourself or that your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is able to provide support. The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e)."

Has anybody supplied just their own evidence to Frankfurt? Not that there is a problem, there's enough money on both sides, just BECAUSE.

My understanding is that you will have to support yourself longer then 90 days up to marriage because filling forms for AOS and EAD will add time (several more months).
