  1. I have to agree with all that has been said. It sounds like someone was trying to set an example where nothing fraudulent could be proved. Why they would go to these lengths is ridicules. Please stay strong you are doing all of the right things from this point but you are also a victim of the holiday slow downs. Also I think they tossed the "march" date out just to scare you. Once your senator gets back from recess and the funeral I hope they can get some answers. I will keep you both in my prayers.

  2. Congrats to you Neya, now the real test is when your partner gets here, it'll be his choice once all the paperwork is completed if he wants to stay with you or not. Don't mean to rain on your parade, but it's true, however, I wish you both all the best !!!!

Should this relationship not work out I will do as I have done to ALL of my past disappointments and life lessons....I WILL KEEP ON LIVING AND LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE AND NOT CLING TO THE PAST...

Yes, I have been disappointed before and as long as I keep on breathing I may be disappointed again but that will never stop me from dreaming and reaching for new high and experiences. I refused to be held down by my past. Can you say the same?

  3. Congratulations to you and your fiance...She will get to experience the full in your face holiday season in NYC.

I hope you remember to take a warm coat with you to the airport cause ya know she is gonna be cold!!

I'd also like to thank you for your input. It has and will make the process more bearable for others who are following. You're right to say we're family because we are all sharing a unique experience and hopely helping each other along the way...

    Enjoy your celebration

  4. Segun's interview today was mostly a lot of waiting. He said once he was finally called after waiting almost 6 hours the interview was fast. His CO was a woman and she first asked for his paperwork. He also gave her the file I had prepared. Then she asked some basic information about me from it such as my name, DOB, where I work, what type of work I do. He said the CO would look at the papers then ask a question from them. She then asked some questions about his son who was not present(we did not intend to get his son a visa today but he was included per instructions). She asked him to hand over his passport, birth certificate, police report and medical results. He gave her everything except the medical results but he did give her the receipt where he had taken his medical. On it was the date when the results would be available. She told him he should return within 2 weeks after the medical resultsare in to have his visa issued. She gave him an appointment date and a form that would allow him to get in.

As has been said before each interview/interviewer is different. For his she never asked to see any pictures at all....not a one(here we were stressing about them wondering if we had enough). She was impressed with the folder I had put together and she looked through that a lot. He didnt say if she asked to see our emails, IM's or phone records but since they were in the folder she may have just looked at them.

On a side note Segun did say there were a lot of people there for tourist visas and they all were rejected. Also he saw a man on a K3 visa get rejected because he could answer the simple question of who filled out his forms. He said he did but as it turned out the man didnt even know how to write. The CO said that the marriage was a sham and rejected the guy. Another guy was rejected because his police report was too old.

I hope this helps everyone. Next......MASTERPIECE....

  5. :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I just got off the phone with Segun and he was approved for his visa. He will receive the visa once he gets his medical results in to them. Apparently the labs are very backed up with visa medicals and his results wont be ready until next week.

He had a very long day at the consulate and didn't give me a lot of information. He arrived at 7:00am and didn't leave until after 3pm. I will update this thread with his interview details later.

  6. For your income taxes do you have W2's or just the actual return?

I also included an updated letter of intent. Don't forget a copy of your passport.

I think you have it covered.

One thing I have been telling my guy is to know where everything is so no nervous fumbling. Listen to the questions before blurting out what you think they are asking. And most important have faith.

    Good Luck

  7. I have my original decree and I really didn't want to give it up... So on advise of VJ guidelines I went down to the court house and got a certified decree. I sent the certified copy to my fiance and also sent a copy... the second decree cost me about $20 total because it was a complicated divorce but at this point better safe than sorry. I hope they wont need it and my fiance can bring my second copy with him. My instinct tells me that if the seal are visible/legible you may be able to use the copy. Also remember a notary is only certifying your signature not the validity of a document.
