Interview date in MTL Oct 23

Case "Qualified"?
Has anyone heard that before? I just called the NVC to inquire about the second case complete email I got yesterday (since I got my original in May), and to find out if I have an interview. No interview, but the NVC rep said my case has been "qualified and completed" on September 1st, even though it was completed on May 12. When I asked what that means and if it's a new step, she mentioned it meant that all my papers and documents were reviewed for completeness and all is ok, and that I just need to wait for an interview.
Very kind lady on the phone, so that was nice.
Anyone heard of this before? Is the NVC reviewing cases for completion well after the case complete date? Are they doing that to ensure all is still valid? -

Was it the one that says that the NVC has received all of the necessary documents? If so, my case was completed on August 25th and I received that e-mail on September 1st. It didn't say anything about my actual case complete date, but I've called the NVC to make sure, and they say that my case was completed on August 25th. If you are worried though, it never hurts to call the NVC and make sure!
Yes it is, but I received it twice now - first time on May 12, and today Sep 9. I am trying to call the NVC, but that's a hard task!
-
Has anyone from Canada received an interview date for October? If so, when was your Case Completed?
Gaaaa, by the time I'm finished this whole process I'll be ready for the loony bin!! :S
You and I have similar timelines - I got my NOA1 in February but my case complete in May - and I am still waiting for an interview.
-
Hi there everyone -
Today I received a Case Complete email with today's date, even though my case was completed on May 12. Not sure if this is just an email glitch - is this a cause for concern?
-
That is appalling
There must have been quite a few Canadian cases that completed after June 16 that have already scheduled.
If CC really means it is complete and no more work is being done, then what would be the hold up?
Maybe the case manager is irresponsible? Is the file still in NVC?
Welcome to the world of waiting for an interview! My CC is May 12. Still no interview for MTL...
-
Same here. I had an arguments with the two NVC rep Friday nights. We have the same timelines. That's probably why were still stuck at NVC.
Yours hasn't been scheduled yet either?
Hopefully October is or time! Montreal is nice then...
-
What can I say, I am jealous of you all with interviews!
My CC is May 12, although my PD date is January.
-
I have a CC from May 12 and am still waiting.
Check out this thread and each future month for lots of talk about interview scheduling:

Many cases take longer to be completed not because the applicants did something wrong, but very often because the USCIS/NVC messed something up along the way.
If you think logically, people with older priority dates have been away from their spouses for much longer. I doubt anyone would do that on purpose..
We have done everything right the first time, just like you. We overnighted everything to USCIS and NVC, paid fees the minute they were available, triple-checked all forms.
We never got a RFE or a Checklist for anything we did wrong, but we've been unlucky to:
- have our I-130 sent to the Nebraska Service Center (which is never faster than 5 months for the NOA2);
- dealt with NVC's website issues that prevented us from filling our DS-260 for over a month;
- had the NVC lose our police certificates (even though we wrote the case number on the top corner, as advised). We had to mail again, adding another 30 days for review;
USCIS is luck of the draw. Lots of people waited 5+ months for their approvals for cases with no RFEs (mine included, thanks Nebraska!). NVC is a whole other ballpark, especially after the system failure (some are still waiting for their DS260s to be reviewed more than a month after the problem was "fixed" and their forms were submitted). It's definitely not an even playing field, all things considered.
(I'm just a bitter 2014 filer, don't mind me.
)
I'm sorry to hear that from you both! I guess my assumption is if the system works out well and seamless, as it should - but usually never does.
Enjoy this weekend - there's always next week and another chance for us to get interviews!

I just completed my daily call in about an interview a few minutes ago. It only took me a few minutes to get through this time. She once again confirmed my case (CR-1) was closed July 22nd and was told I would be emailed once an interview has been scheduled.
So did I. I am a MTL filer. No interview yet. CC May 12. I hear that emails are coming quicker now, so at least we don't have to call so often?
Look to the Visa type columns. Anyone going through NVC like F2A, EB (I don't add student or sibling Visa types)
One thing you have to consider if you see a CC after you get a date before you look at their NOA1 (PD date) that is when that PD comes into play. Or it could have been an expedite, or like mentioned a different type.
Right now its very obvious they are doing something different. I have read on Facebook in one of the groups all the embassies are doing a new upgrade to their system and this may be greatly effecting IR1/CR1 type visas.
But honestly this is keeping in line with how NVC schedules. Looks like they are going back to their 2nd week of the month scheduling style.
All I can say to help ya'll is stay tuned, good news will come so just be ready to pounce when you get that P4 letter.
I thought this is the case. I have seen several MTL filers with CC after mine, already have their interviews - but their NOA1 were back in 2014 whereas mine was in 2015.
With Montreal consulate, I think it has to do with Priority date. My Cc was June 16 and there were 2 people with a June 26/ June 29 Cc but they got an interview date last month for August interview. Sucks huh???
I agree it should go by CC, if it's by NOA1. I'd like to think I am a more simple case, and I did everything right the first time with submission of documents and not getting an RFE - only to have to wait longer for an interview than everything else before it.
-
Called today, no interview scheduled yet.... CC May 12
-
That is just my theory because I see some people getting an appt quickly after their cases are closed while others who have had their cases closed for mths are still waiting. Plus, if the priority dates didn't matter, I don't see why they would include it in the letter from NVC when the case gets closed.
I agree with you - I think this matters to the degree that the hand out appointments. Objectively, if two people have the same CCs, but one was "in the system" longer than the other, chances are they would give the appointment to the one who was waiting longer. Even though that is unfair to the one who got their CC date quicker!
I was thinking the same thing. My Cc was June 16 and someone with June 29 and July 7 Cc recieved thier interview date last week for August. Im so upset.... I hope Nvc will do it fair and square.
:ranting:
:ranting:
**Were on the same consulate MTL.
Don't feel too bad - my CC was May 12 and I am still waiting for an interview date in MTL!
-
Colorado is amazing - I may end up there!
-
I got my email with "CC" on July 7th. I received an email yesterday July 17th saying they had booked my appointment for August 25th. So maybe for those still waiting there are appointments still being given out for August as I just got mine yesterday via email.
Congrats! Now I wish I can get mine, with a CC on May 12! But looking at your timeline, you've been in this entire process longer than me - I only started it at the end of January, 2015. I wonder if the NVC is giving people who are in the process long a jump ahead in the queue to get interview dates?
That's not it.. It all depends on which person or supervisor worked on your profile at what time.
Feelamazing, what do you mean by uploading it electronically? I never heard of this nor have I asked or been told by the NVC about anything.
-
My CC date just missed the cut off for a June interview... there were a few with dates close/on my CC who received interview in June, so I was really hoping to make the cut as well..... Alas, here I am with a July interview....
I was watching your timeline, really hoping to see you get a date soon!!
I cannot believe they've already closed the books on August
Still rooting for you!!!!
Fun fact: The nice old lady said the same to me on Monday.
Another man told me yesterday there are appointments available in August.
Thanks Christina, I am also rooting for myself big time!
I guess we hear different things all the time from the NVC. It would put all of our minds more at ease if there was more transparency as to the status of our cases. You would think it would be simple for them to say where I am in the queue. Also, why must I call the NVC just to find out if an appointment was scheduled? That's something that could easily be put on the CEAC website. Luckily today I got through on the second attempt and waited only 30 minutes.
-
Hi all Canadians out there (MTL):
I just called the NVC, and was told by the nice lady on the phone that they have completed scheduling interviews for AUGUST. Therefore, no open slots for August. She said to call back in the second week of August for September interviews.
My CC was May 12. Still waiting for an interview at MTL...
Any other Canadians have progress getting interviews?
Also, do the NVC reps have no way of knowing where in the queue I am? At least that information would be helpful - example, I am 10th in line, and if I call back in a few weeks and find out I am still waiting but 5th in line, at least I can breath a sigh of relief that things are moving. Just a thought...
-
feelamazing, did they tell you anything about being in the queue - like what place you are in? I wonder if I can glean at least that information from them! With a CC on May 12, I am feeling a bit annoyed...
-
I keep changing it Montreal but it defaults to Armenia - annoying!
What do you mean you haven't seen anyone with a CC in May to now with an interview - as in, no one with a CC from May onwards has an interview scheduled?
I know of one person who started the entire process around my time, got their NOA1 and 2 a week before me, had their CC a week before mine, and already had their interview :/
Is it worth pestering the NVC to see if there's a supervisor review that can be done? I can't imagine why there would be a two month wait for an interview.
-
Same! It could be because of the outage and the expected increase in workload (backlog)?
In any case I am a bit frustrated that nothing has been set yet. I may call the NVC back and ask for a supervisor review.
-
Hi there fellow Canadians and MTL filers!
Just wanted to get a quick status and see if anyone with Case Completes in May or before are still waiting for interview dates? My CC was May 12 and I am still waiting for a date. I called the NVC yesterday and was told no interview date has been scheduled yet. I was hoping for an August interview but nothing thus far...
Thanks!
-
I had my case complete on May 12 and am STILL waiting for an interview date for MTL.... I just called the NVC and it's the same status
-
Sounds good, the 12th of June is around the corner so hoping for some good news soon!
