Ok, I see you, Jen (Sereia-- that's her in the back, right?), Noura, Gabby... and now I see Maggie since I didn't know what she looked like before. :)

    Who is who?

    And where is Butterball?

He was EXTREMELY tired. I actually had to leave the party for awhile and walk him up and down the sidewalk in the stroller to get him to calm down and go to sleep. He and Ayman were asleep on the couch behind us in that photo.

Well I see Rajaa, Megan, Gabi, Janet, Monica, Jen & her German. I know Noura is in there but not sure where and I'm just getting the idea of who the other names to faces are. How fun! Wish I could have come. Did anyone get other pix on the Ducks tour? Who was the surprise guest?

Carrie and Ayman were surprises #1 and 1/2, Jen was surprise #2.

  2. this is Maggie posting under Gabi.

We need to combine our payments into no more than 7 credit cards total. So if any of you have cash or can write me a check for your portion, it will help narrow down the number we have to use, as will the fact that now we lost another family from the count. Dont you people love me anymore?? :crying:

  3. Congrats!!!!!! :D

    *peep*

Im an auntie again. Ahmed's sister had her little girl, Sarah, this morning. That makes grandbaby #10 for his mom :)

Ditto on the congrats! I can't wait to squeeze some Mehdi cheeks in Seattle!!!!!!!! :luv:

    mabrook gabi

Im diggin that lil man of yours. He sure favors his daddy :)

  4. I will not be late, I will not be late, I will not be late.... now if the pilot and airline will play along w/ me, all will be good!

My trip to NY a couple of weeks ago was delayed by 4 hours due to mechanical problems. When the plane was finally fixed and ready to roll, the pilot came on saying "Ok, we're gonna fly this plane like we stole it!"

LMFAO! I hope we have the same pilot for our flight. This will be butterball's first flight, so I hope its a quickie. Ive been flying since I was 5 and this is the first time Im actually nervous.

  5. I made photocopies of all the tickets my friends at work got for stuff like no seatbelt, speeding, weaving, etc. and showed them to Ahmed. I think that made him realize the seriousness of it.

Also (and Im not saying this is a good idea) I let him loose on the Interstate. He was pretty convinced he knew all about driving, so I decided to let him excercise his knowledge. Where we used to live there was a 2-3 lane Interstate with enough hustle and bustle to really scare the sheet out of him. I think that also helped him realize American drivers dont appreciate Moroccan driving tactics.

He's a much safer driver these days. Although, I did have some patience when it came to teaching him how to drive, but I think that's only because I come from a long line of teacher. You might try one of the online defensive driving courses to help him understand the rules of the road. Ive also seen online driver's ed courses, but that's for Texas.

And dont feel bad, my DH wouldnt touch the driver's manual with a ten foot pole until the last minute.

  6. Michelle- You want to see a fat baby, look at my lil chunk :) He's 6 months old and weighs 26 pounds. His doctor says it's just fine. He's a healthy critter. He was 9 pounds when he was born, 18 pounds at 2 months, 22 pounds at 4 months, etc. My husband and his siblings were all big babies, their kids too. My brother and I were both big, and so are our kids. They all leaned out after the crawling and walking got going. Babies arent even remotely considered overweight until at least age 2 and often not until age 3.

My hubby was also rather worried about Mehdi being so big, but he's grown used to the idea. And reassurances from family, friends, and especially the doctor show that everything's okay.

And I agree with everyone else, you've got cutie there :) All that adorable baby fat is just more room for kisses.

  7. My $.02 on the food issue: Its good stuff. Im a seriously picky eater and even more so since I started nursing, but Moroccan food is tasty stuff. I never touched it before my first trip to Morocco to meet DH, so I had no idea what to expect. The menu isnt too off-the-wall and for those unfamiliar with Moroccan food, couscous is almost always a safe bet. Its kinda like pot roast (with chicken) on rice (couscous).

  8. Id also like to add my heartfelt sympathy. I pray that God will bring you solace and peace. I know that no amount of kind thoughts and words will ever make life whole again for you, but I hope we are all helping to cushion your broken heart. Hearing about your plight makes me very humble and I count my blessings, no matter how irritated I may become with my DH.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayer and I hope I can help lift your spirits very soon (F)

  9. I believe it was the Ebay Customer Svc number that I called, am I supposed to call another number too?

Start with those links. They should help you. eBay isnt really going to be much help when the seller screwed you over because its an independent transaction. eBay cannot refund your money, but if you file a report and go through the Dispute Console the seller can be punished. Especially if everyone who got shafted gets on the bandwagon and files. You may want to contact the other buyers who got robbed and see how they are handling their loss and actions they have taken. You should be able to send them a message just by clicking on their username from the feedback listings for Mr. Evil Seller.

PayPal are the peeps who can help you get back your money. Ive never had to request a refund, so Im not sure how that works. But the link I posted should get you going in the right direction. Check out their Buyer's Protection Policy.

Best of luck to you hon (F)

  10. (F) I can totally understand your frustration. Im a seller on Ebay and Im getting some serious crapola from a buyer. She bid on my auction and never paid. I emailed her 4 times and finally had to file a complaint with eBay. When eBay went hunting her down, she said she wanted another 2 weeks to pay. I said no (twice). Well guess what? Last night she paid (almost 3 weeks late), and today she sent 2 snotty emails complaining about when was I going to ship and why isnt she allowed to bid on my other auctions. I fixed her wagon though. Refunded her money and deducted all the fees I was charged. Snit.

Anywho, Im sorry you got the shaft. The people you want to talk to are PayPal. If Im not mistaken, you should have a built-in protection policy on PayPal purchases. Also, go to the dispute console on eBay and file a report.

By the by, here's some linkies for you:
