  1. I rang USCIS but the woman wouldn't put me on with someone from tier 2 and she filled a status report or something. Should I ring them back and ask to speak to someone from tier 2 again?

    Unfortunately, status report means nothing.

Yes, request to speak to Tier 2. Tier 1 does not have the information Tier 2 does. Tier 1 basically has the same info you do. Tier 2 has all the details (whether your biometrics was scheduled, whether a letter was sent out, etc.)

  2. I got my NOA1 on the 29th of January but still no letter for biometrics! Should I be worried?

You definitely should have already called and spoke to Tier 2. At least a couple of weeks ago.

There is a high possibility that your Biometrics date already passed or the USCIS (don't know how this happens) doesn't have your address on file.

It should be stickied somewhere: If you haven't received your Biometrics letter by 2 weeks post NOA1 date, you need to call and speak to Tier 2 immediately.

  3. I will call with my hubby as well. Did you have to talk to a Tier 2 to get them to fax it to you?? feeling anxious right now. We don't have a fax machine, any chances they will email it??

There are many online fax services you can get.

I used HelloFax and have a free 1 month account.

Just setup an account (it's free for the first month and like 10-15 a month after that. You can cancel after the trial is over) and you'll get setup with a fax number.

Using that fax number you can send/receive faxes. Incoming faxes will be also be emailed to you.

Don't recommend EFax. I never received any faxes.

  4. This is probably a question for USCIS but what happens in the event that you get fingerprinting done after USCIS creates a Service Request to send you a brand new letter for another Biometric appointment?

We missed the Biometrics because we never received the letter. When we spoke to Tier 2, the rep said she would put in a Service Request for this issue and we would probably receive an appointment for Biometrics at a later date. She mentioned in the meantime, to attempt a walk-in.

Lucky for us, we received a fax from USCIS with the expired Biometrics appointment letter and we brought it in to the walk-in and my wife was able to get her Biometrics done.

Do we have to notify USCIS that we were able to get the Biometrics done? Does the Service Request and new appointment get cancelled by itself? What if a new appointment date is created and we don't go because she already had it done?

    Damn, I'm being paranoid now.

  5. So, out of the blue last night, I received a fax with a copy of my Biometrics letter that had already passed.

I thought passed appointment letters weren't sent out. <_< Uhh.

I didn't look at the letter too much in detail but something I noticed after doing the fingerprinting.

Is there only supposed to be stamps/fingerprinting for the I-485 and the I-765. Why is there no fingerprinting for the Advanced Parole?

On the Biometrics letter it only lists the I-485 and I-765. The fingerprinting was only done for the I-485 and I-765. When I wrote the Advanced Parole number on the sheet as well, the person crossed it off because that wasn't one of the items being fingerprinted for, according to the sheet.

Does the fingerprinting not happen for Advanced Parole (I-131)?

  6. Apparently, according to the other Tier 2 reps I spoke to recently, they cannot fax out a Biometrics appointment letter that has passed already. This is different from what other Tier 2 reps told me.

So we have no choice now but to wait for an official response by letter (please let me actually receive it this time Postal Service).

Just a headsup for future Biometrics appointment waiting individuals. If you haven't received a Biometrics appointment letter within 2-3 weeks of your NOA1, you need to speak to Tier2 immediately. Tier 1 does not see nor have access to the information Tier 2 has. Do not wait for the 30 day mark.

  7. Long story short, we submitted AOS at the end of January and received the NOA1's dated at the end of January. After 2 weeks we still didn't receive a Biometrics appointment letter.

I started having this uneasy feeling so I called the USCIS a couple of times and the Tier1 reps told me that the appointment still wasn't setup in the system yet and to call back after a month. This happened 3 times.

I called a couple of days ago, and I asked again to speak to a Tier 2 rep and they transferred me.

The Tier2 rep told me that my wife had missed the appointment!

I was beyond anger and shock. We never received any appointment letter in the mail. Plus the Tier 1 reps kept on telling us that our Biometrics wasn't setup yet.

Tier 2 told me we would be receiving mail in a couple of weeks regarding this incident. Not even an appointment day. Just a follow up to this incident.

They told me in the meantime, to try and do a walk-in. They told me they would fax me the Biometrics letter. Didn't receive it that night.

Tried doing a walk-in today and got rejected because we didn't have the letter.

I again called and spoke to Tier 2 who just said that they would fax it again to me today. Never got it again.

The Tier 2 reps said all they can do is send the request to the team that faxes it. It still hasn't happened.

I can't get a fax. Infopass has no openings for at least another 3 weeks.

I don't know what to do at this point. I feel completely helpless.

  9. Our AOS was accepted on January 8th, Still waiting for biometrics letter, called USCIS on February 8th to find out where our letter was at, the person on phone was very helpful she took all our info and was told to wake 2 weeks and if we don't hear nothing call back. On February 22nd we got letter that basically said "At this time you have not been scheduled for a biometrics appointment. When you are scheduled for an appointment you will receive a notice in the mail that states the date and time you are scheduled for biometrics." It is now closing in on 7 weeks since AOS was accepted, was wondering if any one else got letter like this and how long did you have to wait for biometrics letter. It seems like this is an excessive wait compared to some other timelines on this site who got letter in as little as 2 weeks

    Read my post above.

High possibility that your Biometrics appointment already passed.

Tier 1 has no clue what's going on.

You have to speak to Tier 2.

  10. Beyond pissed off right now.

So I finally call again for the 4th time to speak to a Tier 2 and they finally transfer me to a Tier 2.

It turns out the Biometrics appointment was today! Are you kidding me?

We never received any letter at all.

And when I asked the previous 3 USCIS reps they all told me that the Biometrics appointment still wasn't scheduled nor was a letter mailed out.

Now Tier 2 tells me that I'll have to wait until March 9 for USCIS to respond to me to setup a Biometrics appointment. Not even a appointment, just an official response.

How did Tier1 not know that a Biometrics appointment was setup?

What can I do to get this rolling? Wait until March 9th and pray that they didn't mess things up again?

Really need to leave the country by the end of April.

  11. What is the date on that?

Sorry to hear. Hope it is something easy to address?

The next few week will be the dangerous RFE territory for us Jan filers. From my reading, most RFEs get sent out in the window of a few weeks around biometrics...

But of course you can still get RFE'd anytime.

January 28th that the fingerprint fee was accepted.

The strange thing is that the EAD and Advanced Parole were received on the 26th.

  12. Yes, he talked about the timeframe after the biometrics.

did you talk to regular representative (not tier 2?) because they told me that my letter was not send out when talking on the phone and i got the letter in the mail the next day. they do not know anything!

I spoke to a regular representative and he also told me that my letter was not sent out yet.

Would it make sense at this point (23 days) to speak to a Tier 2? Or too early?

  13. I receive my Biometrics Letter today (February 15th, 2016). The notice date is February 6th, 2016.

I have my appt at February 24th, 2016 at 1pm at it in the Brooklyn office. I may just walk in tomorrow as it opens.

    I'm confused.

You mentioned your appt is on the 24th but you can just walk in anytime to do it?

So you don't need to go on your appt. date and can go in before, at any date/time?
