  1. Ive just been through all that. Yes you will get a letter with your interview date (unless they need something else) and trust me mine took almost the whole 180 days. I just had my interview Feb 23 and including weekends I jsut got my PR card yesterday less than 12 days !!!! when you get the letter it will state the time and place for your interview, and it will have a checklist of things to bring with you. Be real prepared and have things organized so there easy to get when the person asks for such item. Good luck

  2. Just be patient and try not to panic :) my sister is in the same (time frame) as you are. I am a step ahead of her. I just yesterday rec'd my PR card. My sister in Charlotte NC got her EAD in no time at all. Shes been working since I think last Nov. and her appt for PR card is this wed coming up. So you should hear something soon. I know it is hard to wait but they will contact you. now having said that I do remember I had my biometrics done July or aug I dont have my calendar in front of me, and my actual interveiw owas feb 23. first they sent out a "checklist' letter with the date on and things I needed to take to the interview. hope this helps. :)

  3. awww sweetie I am sorry that happened, I know sometimes they think there doing their job, and they are. But they forget they are dealing with"real" people. I wold suggest just hang in there for the time being, try not to panic and think positive !!!!! They just do things the weird way and try to come off as intimidating (they can be) I will pray for you and your fiancee. Be patient :) it will all work out

  4. The young girl that interviewed me was impressed with my husbands job he did at organizing. he took the check sheet and put letters by each thing required. He then got manilla envelopes (letter size ones) and put alpha letters on those to correspond with the chekc sheet. so when she asked do you have your (for ex) passport he looked at the sheet and that told him it was in envelope "g" for ex and he handed her everything as she asked for it. Hope this helps.

  5. I just had my interview Feb 23rd the girl that interviewed me after all the "stuff" that had to be done was done. She said welcome "offically" to the USA she then stamped my passport and told me I would get my card in aprox, 3wks. Today mar 3rd I got my welcome to the USA letter in the mail and that stated that I should have my card within 3 wks max. but when she stamped my PP she told me that stamp would be my 'temp" approval indicator until I get my card.

  6. I am Canadian now living in the USA. I just got my permanent resident card after a yr and half. My dh and I got married in Canada Oct 3-2003 he returned home and filed the paperwork to get me here and it took FOREVER. I went to Vancouver for my k3 visa the day I got that I booked my flight to come to the USA two days later I was in NC. Let me tell you border patrol in Edmonton told me NOt to try to come to "visit". Dh wanted to "ignore" that haha..... yes I did get turned away. we were later told my immigration that is not advicable at all to come to the USA while things are pending. Now haven said that it is the same as calling immigration you get different answers. My total time I think was 8 months in Canada waiting to get here.
