  1. Hello everyone! Pardon me if I am posting this in wrong place.

I have some concerns on AOS and SSN:

    1. I got my SSN as soon as I got here in U.S., how would I change my name after marriage?

    2. On adjustment of status, do we need to send copy of marriage certificate and wedding pics.?

    3. Since I didn't had vaccines from my medical back in Dubai, I need to go to the civil surgeon for the vaccination transcript, correct? And I need to do that before filing AOS?

    Again, thanks to you all!

  2. Yes, you should still be able to do them before you leave for the US. Just be sure to bring the vaccination record with you as proof for your AOS. Probably way cheaper for you to do it in your home country rather than in the US anyway.

I used to have the same fear of needles as you do so I know how you feel. :(

Thanks Mallari.... One last thing: I don't need to do them with the same physician, right? They're too expensive here in Dubai too about 200$ for 2 shots :-(

  3. Hello hello everyone! So, I have done my medical yesterday at NMC Deira Dubai and the Physician told me that the vaccines is totally optional for K1 visa...... And said I can do it later in U.S., is that right? I basically didn't do it as well since she told me that it was entirely up to me and that it is not compulsory to have it here (was scared with needles). Please advice if anyone have done it before and got no issues at interview or POE. Many thanks!

  4. Dear all,

Here I am again.... Haha! So, I am now preparing for my K1 interview and filling up DS160: On security and background information "Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?" I don't have any vaccination record and haven't done my medical yet. Should I say "YES"? since am gonna get it upon medical, right? Thanks a lot!

  5. Actually im not lying, the time my fiance filed for the K1 visa, im single, in my interview Nov 2013 i received a 221g, while its on process, my fiance decided to go back to philippines and get married which is March 2014 so when he come back to US, he will file for the spousal visa, but luckily my K1 approved, that why i fly to US August 2014.

But you didn't disclose the marriage in Philippines upon AOS?

  6. Thanks for your reply! I am From the Philippines working in Dubai for over 8 years.

That's exactly my confusion was..... On my legal documents (employment visa as well as I am also on company payroll) and just not working physically in company I am just under their sponsorship. For example: Visa is under company but not actually working there but the fact is I am working as house keeper for one of the bosses.

  7. Hello everyone!

So, I was confused on what to write down on G325 (occupation section), I wrote and followed what was on all my legal documents here in Dubai when in fact I am not physically working there, I was just under the sponsorship of the company. Now that I am preparing and waiting for interview date it is bothering me a lot. I'm afraid it may affect my future visa journey. Is there any way to make it right, if so, how? And if I leave it the way it is now, what would be the future consequence? Any advice/help will be highly appreciated. Thanks to you all.

  8. Hello everyone! I have some issues bothering me. My K1 visa is under processing now and I believed it's on it's way to NVC. However, I made a mistake on G325A on the "occupation" section. I have mistakenly put my previous job instead of current. I just realised it now while preparing all the documents I may need for interview. Is there any way to fix it before it will reach the embassy? Am afraid it may cause me bigger issues in the future, so as much as possible I wanna make it right now rather than later. Thank you!

  9. Be very careful. You could end up with a legal adoption with no means to bring her to the US.

US laws requires she be adopted before age 16 in order to qualify for a visa.

Thank you! Just feeling bad thinking about leaving her behind, since I am already working abroad and by getting married that only means the chance for us to reunite would be nearly zero.

Children being adopted abroad must be found eligible to immigrate under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) in order to reside in the United States. Because adoption laws vary from country to country, it is sometimes possible to adopt a child abroad who does not qualify for immigration under U.S. law; such children cannot immigrate to the United States.

Under the INA, a child who is adopted abroad while under the age of 16 and who has been in the legal custody, and has resided with, his or her adoptive parent(s) for at least two years may be the beneficiary of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) I-130 petition (Petition for Alien Relative) and receive an immigrant visa in the IR-2 category.
