  1. Hi, I want to do this but I am afraid that by doing that I will be resetting the review times on NVC. I submitted this forms last year. If I try to email them to me, is that going to screw everything for me? I know it did with DS-261 when I try to check something out..

NO, this wont reset anything as the form has already been submitted. This is not calling NVC this is just viewing your application online. Your free to view your form. I printed out mine recently.

  2. Hi,

When reading the instructions for Mumbai consulate, the Affidavit of Support only talks about 864 and 864A. My income and assets are good enough and my mother is the only beneficiary. Can I file 864EZ instead of 864 and 864A.

Can any one who filed 864EZ for Indian beneficiary please respond ?

If we have a question, regarding this process, who do we contact - NVC or Mumbai Consulate ?

    Thanks,

Well I didn't fill it but sure did consider so here is what I know . yes you can fill an I864EZ if you satisfy all the criteria. The form requires that the income is not from business( should be able to show W2), you should be the one who filed I130, as you mentioned she should be the only beneficiary, no I140 filled. For your queries try calling NVC. Also refer the link

  3. ok great! Thank you! :) Whew!

I was worried because the instruction on travel state website said at least one day prior to the interview appointment date. It made me think that date for biometric appointment should be selected closer to the interview date. :)

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-offsitecollectionservices.asp

They are just suggesting to complete the procedure prior to the interview so that it can be updated in the system. At least one day before is for the convenience of people who travel for their interviews from other states they prefer it. But if you are nearby your free to do it before hand. Good Luck Your interview :)

  4. As part of the pre-interview process for CR-1 visa, we read the interview letter appointment letter and instructions on the interview letter said to make an appointment online thru website for biometrics for my spouse. After my spouse logged in to make an appointment, the instructions on the website said to bring affidavit of support (I-864, tax returns, employment letter and paystubs) to biometric appointment. Is that true?

I wonder what documents applicants brought to the biometric appointment.

    Thanks!

well we just had to carry original passport, two photographs(2X2 in), appointment letters ( VAC and P4) and DS230 confirmation page. This is the first time I heard about a request for the documents you mentioned. But may be Delhi consulate has different rules.

  5. Yes, My taxes for 2014 should be filed by this upcoming week and I should have all my tax papers by the end of the week. I will start to get those ready adapt because I know I will have to send them to my husband before the interview. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I've heard Mumbai consulate isn't too difficult with interviewers just as long as you have all the paperwork necessary. Thank you so much for answering my questions and giving me some company in this thread lol! Best of luck for your interview! Hope you will get your visa issued right away and can finally be here with your spouse! Please keep us updated & let me know how the interview went! :)

Thank you so much. Sorry for the late response was collecting a few documents. Congratulations on the interview date !!! You made it girl. So happy for you. Good Luck , surely will keep you posted :)

  6. Oh!! Hahahha! In that case yes, you sure did scare me! I'm glad there's still a chance for April interview for my husband! Are you also at Mumbai consulate??? I guess I should actually be getting my updated I-864 together since I used 2013 as my most recent tax year on the form, but I guess one thing at a time lol. I guess once we actually get an interview date all of this will be more real to me. Right now I just can't believe we are so close to being done! So are you the one who will be interviewing or your spouse?

Haha I just wanted to convey that the waits short for the interview and you should start preparing the docs and enjoy the thought that its almost done but ended up doing the complete opposite I guess. OOPS!!!. Yes I will be interviewed at the Mumbai consulate. In Mumbai the Slots open up randomly so you might even end up with an interview in the mid of April so you should file taxes for 2014 as soon as possible. Your almost there

  7. I've actually called like everyday since Tuesday to ask if I have a date yet!!! Lol. A month??? Or two?? Oh gosh Idk if I can wait that long! I figured maybe since we got a CC at the beginning of the month we might get schedule for mid or end of April! I guess maybe not. Lol. That was wishful thinking. Ugh, can't stand the wait any longer it's been over a year already stuck in this process, but I guess it could always be worse.

Oh no no... I meant the actual interview will be within a month or two of getting the P4 letter( i got a cc on feb 2 and got an interview letter on 6 th and actual interview scheduled for end of march, so going by that logic you should get a letter by 6th ) so you still have a good chance of making it to April interview ... I guess I scared you sorry for that

  8. Hi! Thank you for your response the India forum doesn't seem to get much traffic, wasn't sure I would ever get a reply! I'm still waiting for a date to be scheduled. Looks like New Delhi consulate is getting scheduled for april. Have no idea about Mumbai yet. I wish they would hurry! Lol

No problem , I have seen people being scheduled for the interviews within a month or two from the date of cc at Mumbai consulate but due to the weather conditions I'm not so sure now( The interview letters start to arrive after 6th as I have seen). Try calling NVC they should be able to let you know about the interview if it has been scheduled. Good Luck :)

  9. I spoke to NVC operator and he told me the same thing. He said we don't need to submit the originals. photocopies are fine. But I don't get it, why does the attorney want to send the originals. I confirmed with him, and said your spouse will get back his originals after the interview. I am planning to send the photocopies. Thanks you. I really appreciate your help. and best of luck with your journey.

Yes the originals will be returned after the interview but why risk losing them by post or at NVC . No problem, Good Luck with your journey too :)

  10. I will confirm with him what he really meant. He said the following documents are required by NVC: "your spouse's original police certificate form both

    1) District Superintendent

    2) Local passport office in India

    And his original birth certificate

2 photos 2 by 2 inch white background

Actually this is our first time doing this process. So I am very confused. It took almost 8 months to get approval from TSC and now NVC is taking forever. NVU

You need not submit the originals to NVC, xerox copies would do( that would be faster and cheaper, ask your spouse to scan and email in the documents once he gets them ), your spouse can carry the original documents to the interview.

  11. hi people.

NVC requested police certificate from passport office. I wanted to know if we need 2 police certificate 1 from local passport office in India and 2nd from District Superintendent. Please help. I am very stressed out. !!!!!!

    Hello,

Yes you will require a PCC from Regional passport office( passport seva kendra) and from local police considering you reside in India.
