  1. My ,man was finally approved after a year and a half. He traveled from Nigeria as soon as possiple. We confirmed our wedding dates with the church and hall a week after his arrival.

His Mother attempted to get a visa to attend the wedding. She completed the appliction, paid her fees and discovered instead of the week wait for the interview listed on the web site the first interview date available was over a month later, 2 days after our wedding date.

We filed a request for an emergency interview and it was denied.

We are herat broken that she will not be at our wedding.

We had to pay deposits for that date and others made flight plans to attend so changing the date will be next to impossible.

Does anyone have any suggestions on other options?

    Thank you.

  2. My Fiance arrived 6/23 (K-1Visa). He traveled from NIgeria and had a connecing flight in Dabai. They took the sealed envelope and stamped his passport there and informed him he did not have to go thru customs at JFK and could just transfer to Orlando and pick up his bags in Orlando.

They also did not give him his original documents ie birth certificate divorce degree and informed him they would be sent forward for where we filed for our marriage (dont know where). They also did not provide any additional forms. The only thing that proves he went thru customs is the stamp on his passport.

He arrived at JFK and went directly to the gate to get his connection with no problms.

I thought I prevously read that he was suppose to receive additional forms to show that/when he arrived on a K1 visa that can be used to get SS card and other important papers. Is there something missing or are we OK?

    Thanks.

  3. After 4 months in AP (k1) the staus started to get updated about a month ago once or twice a week. I know this is good news that they are doing something.

We just have no idea what they are doing.

I am still confused why the staus says ready, and gives directions on how to schedule an interview that took place 155 days ago.

When I email the embassy, they give the usual answer you will be contacted when the AP is completed

Is it abnormal to be in Ap, and it is not updated even after they clearly are doing somehting with our case?

I hope we are all out of this soon.

We agree with you Mrs Bonsu!

  4. Thank you for the information, and happy for you It was just past the four month mark and we have finally started seeing updates a couple of times each week in the last two weeks.

prior to that the only updates were when we sent a mail.

He was given a contact sheet.

We were concerned that we were missing a call from them because he we was having phone/network problems so we gave them alternative ways to contact us today.

From all that we read on this site we are excited that we are finally seeing something happen. 411 days from application 142 days in AP.

Frustrationg but our love is keeping us strong.

  5. Sorry I do not have a response to your question however, we have the same story. The Interview was in Octoer 2014 in Lagos. A contact sheet was given. then nothing for months, except when an email was sent, then the status was updated.

The last two weeks the status was updated a fewtimes without emails being sent to them, but we did not hear anything.

If you dont mind please.I have a couple of questions.

Did the status change to AP on the ceac site ours never did?

Did they contact the people on the sheet?

    Did the staus update today?

I ask because he is in an area that has vey bad reception, and we are concerned that they are trying to contact him. I have to dial over and over to connect, or use alternative means to communicate.

I hope all goes well with your friends case.

  6. We had a long wait for the USCIS-Texas Service Center and I faithfully checked everyday. Then one Saturday we were shocked when I received an approval text, followed shortly by a letter in the mail.

We are now in AP since Oct 2014. We check the ceac site daily and there are no updates.

Others in AP posted that the site lists that their case is in AP, ours just says ready and how to arrange an interviw.

I wrote emails to Nigeria and the site lited on the ceac page to try to determine what is going on. I get the same response wait!

There is no answer to why the site has not changed.

We are concerned they lost our application.

did this happen to anyone else?

  7. We are confused about what is on the CEAC site. I have send at least three emails and it is always the same response. Wait your finace will be told when the case is completed.

He had his interview in October, they asked for additional information (names of friends and job contact information)

The CEAC still has not been updated to say administrative pocessing, it continues to say ready forfor three cases( case numberXXXX 01-02-03) and what appears to be information on how to schedule the intial an interview.

I specifically asked the question about the CEAC site update, including sending an email to the email listed on the CEAC site for questions.

It appears all of the emails go to a site that sends the same response...no matter what I ask.

Reading this thread has me think I may be missing something about the interview and ready status. Does anyone else have any ideas what this might mean?

    .

  8. Thank you.Congrats you are finally together.

I notice some posts about the CEAC site saying that it actually lists Administrative Processing. Our site lists three cases the number followed by 01, 02, and 03. It has ready next to all of them, However the site gives direction on what to do to schedule an interview. He already had an interview and when I write to them they respond with he was told at the interview that he will be notified of the outcome after the AP is complete.

He was given a form asking for his past employer information, some neigbors and friends contact numbers he turned it back in the same day as the interview. No one on the form has been contacted.

I know it is a waiting game,

  9. Thank you for your support.

We presented pictues, phone logs, emails, and proof of visits from passport stamps, and printouts.

It is not a short/fast relationship

No income issues, or legal problems.

I thought there was a short list of things that the k-1 visa can be denied for.

I tend to think it might be the age/race difference but I might be wrong. Is it up to someone else to decide who we fall in love with?
