I know. Which is why I'm providing some proofs that I can get my hands on.
Hi, so far the DNA test is the strongest evidence for parent child relationship but you have to wait till the immigration office requested for DNA test between you and your father. They will send you a letter if they will ask one. And tell your father to use the ptc lab, little bit costly but fast and nice representative. I used their service in March 2021, thanks to them. My son is already here in the US. Goodluck.

Hi, request to expedite your case at NVCExpedite@state.gov. My son got DQ'd on 5/2020 too and his already here in the US 2 weeks ago and started his 1st job here last week. Goodluck and God bless.

Hello everyone.! I just need some advice if which the easy way to file petition for my son who is going to turn 14yrs old this year. I am a us citizen and planning to start the paperwork to bring my son with here in the US but I’m not really sure I’d do I need to hire a lawyer or I can do by myself? Maybe anyone of you here have same questions on me that could help.? Please share your experience and how did you start or did you apply online or by mail? Thank you so much.! Godbless and be safe everyone ❤️
Do not waste your money with the immigration lawyer. Applying IR2 visa for minor child is very easy process. My eldest son got here 2018 and my youngest son's flight will be next Friday (4/2). Goodluck.

Nothing yet unfortunately. Who do I send the interview expedite request to? Also, what happened after your interview expedite request? correspondence and time? Thank you
Hi, request an expedited interview to NVCExpedite@state.gov. Once your case is accepted by the US embassy Manila. Send email to ACSInfoManila@state.gov to request an expedite interview appointment. In our Case, expedited on 9/30/2020. Advance Medical exam at SLEC on Oct.12&13. Interview appointment at USEM on 12/17/2020 and his under administrative review due to birth certificate being late registered. On 1/5/2021, USEM recommended us to the DNA test. And on 3/10 visa issued. Still waiting for the visa. Hoping will get it this week. Goodluck to you and your kids.

Hi. Wondering if you have any updates? I have two IR2's waiting in limbo just like everyone else I'm guessing. We got our cases approved for expediting on Dec 7, 2020. When I check CEAC, says the case is still at NVC. We became documentarily qualified June 30, 2020. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. US Embassy in Manila also stated that the case is still at NVC after I emailed them inquiring about my case. Thank you
Hi, any updates in your case? You need to request an expedited interview. That's what I did. Good luck.

Unfortunately I cant remember all of the details from when we did the DNA test with the embassy, and it will be much different as of today due to COVID. This is done on the American Citizen services side and they are only working on an appointment basis and very limited staff as well. I would write to ACS at USEM and if no answer, contact the DNA company again as they may know or have a general idea. COVID has changed the normal processes.
I believe the embassy contacted me for the DNA swab and this DNA testing was only done on Tuesdays and Thursdays at USEM. On the day this was done, we first went to the embassy to complete some paperwork, then over to SLEC to pay for the swab fee (less than 2,000p) then in the afternoon we were back to the Embassy for the swab test. It was all painless, but it made for a long day. I was living in Manila when this was done so we all just did the testing in a room in the Embassy. For you, they may direct you a place closest to you for the swab.
Expect the embassy to be slow though as they are still working on very limited staff. It could very well take a month for a reply.
Thank you for the quick reply. I really appreciate you for giving me so much information regarding this issue. My DNA sample was collected on 1/15/21. Thank you once again and God bless.

I had to do the DNA test as part of my sons CRBA. When it was done I was living in Manila with my sons mother and my son. However, I ordered from a place in Missouri and they mailed and shipped everything. Lab payments were done at SLEC and the test was done at USEM. Results came in about a week. The company I used was great. It wasnt cheap, I think it cost around $750-$800 but I dont remember exactly. My other option was to fly to the province and get photos out of storage (ultrasound, etc) but that was too much of a hassle. The company I used I was great and I highly recommend them. If you need the name I can post it.
We did a three way test (son, mother, me) and if you are all living apart, the DNA company can help coordinate everything. The fee is a little bit higher but quite easy to do. I think you go to a designated place near your hometown, she and the son can go to USEM.
Dont sweat it. Its quite easy, straightforward, and efficient.
Hi, ptc lab is awesome. The embassy received the DNA test kit for my son on 1/19/21 but the embassy has not contacted my son yet. Do I have to contact the embassy and schedule the DNA testing? Thank you

The letter you received from the embassy is a 221g, it requested the middle name be corrected. A 221g is a refusal letter if the requested items are not completed.
Thank you so much Hank. My son is going to get a new passport on Jan. 26.

Based on your description and the attached PDF, the US embassy will not print the visa on the current passport with the middle name field indicating "Not Applicable." So I understood that leaves your son no choice but to get a new passport in the Philippines, as follows:
Surname: XXX
Given Name: YYY
Middle Name: (leave this blank)
Thank you. Stay healthy

usually if the mistake is from the immigration office you can ask them to correct them for u since this is not ur fault ? they can add on endorsement ( inside the passport ). very rare they are going to give a new passport with a new number
DFA office advice him to apply for a new passport. Thank you

I know of a few people that had renewed their passports after starting the process, they gone everything done, just need to keep both passports together.
Hank, does it necessary to correct the middle name while his still in the Philippines? Or can we do it here in the US when he gets here? As what I understand, the embassy will put the NOT APPLICABLE in his middle name just like in his passport. What do you think? Thank you

Hi, my 20 year old son is an illigitimate child so he doesn't have a middle name on his birth certificate, just blank. But on his passport, they put " NOT APPLICABLE" as his middle name . I have no idea how did it happen. And he had his medical exam done at St. Lukes in October 2020 and interview done at US Embassy in December 2020 but his under admistrative review for DNA test recommendation due to birth certificate as late registered and I wasn't able provide them my prenatal record. But in the 221g letter it also stated that " Also please correct passport middle name, the name on the passport will be exactly what will be printed on your visa. Currently your middle name is listed as NOT APPLICABLE.
By the way, I just had my DNA test today Jan. 15th. and they sent my son's DNA test kit to US embassy Manila yesterday Jan.14th. So, what do you think guys, does he need to apply a new passport or wait till he gets here in the US and renew his passport?
My concern is if he will apply a new passport, it means that his gonaa have a different passport number. So what will happen to his medical exam stamped at St lukes on his old passport? and all the documents in US embassy is his old passport number.
Please I really need all your ideas and suggestion. Thank you and God bless us all. Stay healthy
Oh FYI, my sister went to DFA office in Cagayan de Oro City and their advice is to apply my son a new passport with a new passport number because they cannot do anything to correct the middle name "NOT APPLICALBE".

Double check though that they are still on the list of approved DNA testing centers by the Embassy otherwise youll waste your time and money. If they are still on the list then I had excellent experience with them. In fact, there were a few times I sent emails and I had replies within 5 minutes. I also had a phone call with them on which type of test I needed to do and they were very helpful.
Oh by the way, I'm from NC. PTC laboratories is MO. So it's okay to use this?
1 hour ago, flicks1998 said:Youll pay the DNA company. They will handle everything for you. The only thing you will pay at St Lukes Extension Center is the Lab fee which is the fee for them to go to the embassy and do the test. I cant remember what that cost. Somewhere between 1-2K pesos I believe.
Thank you so much for all the info. I really appreciated,

**Update** 1/5/2021
After several attempts at trying to call the Visa help desk and even calling the Embassy. I finally received an email stating, they have her passport and are processing it. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
Also, we have our sons Philippine and US passports in hand now.
Can you give me the number pls? I need to call them too because my son's Visa is still Refused and we we already submit the documents that they need. He had his interview on Dec. 17th and his birth certificate is late registered. The date has been changed 3 times, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7 but still showing Refused. I dont know what to do now.

P.S. Ask him to remember the questions and the post them here. My stepdaughter will be around 18 when she interviews.
Sure, I will tell him that.

Don't worry. Tell him to answer honestly and don't offer information they don't ask for.
There are a lot of interview questions posted in the embassy reviews section. If you scroll through you can find some for children, but a lot of the normal questions will apply.

Yes, there is a delivery fee to deliver the passport with US visa. My son paid 450 pesos when they delivered his passport visa 3 months ago.
