Many folks are seeing Case Was Received At My Local Office in their online status because they have transferred the case to the nearest office to make a decision. From here you may or may not need an interview. Also sometimes they transfer cases between each service centers to balance the workload. You can track those here - https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers

Hi! We can find out about approval timing based on approvals from past years/months...look at approved cases and see difference in time between interview and approval and we can guesstimate...

  3. Hi all, simple question - in the i-751 form, the first page (and several pages later) refer to the petitioner - is the green card holder or the U.S. citizen the petitioner? I married a U.S. citizen and am applying to have my conditions removed. So am I the petitioner or is my husband? We are filing jointly, but the form asks for two separate signatures/information blocks - please help!

    Thank you!

  4. Hello, all.

i am wondering exactly what process to follow to file taxes in the US as the Canadian wife of a US citizen.

We got married in the US in 2014 and are planning on filing our 2014 US taxes as a married couple. I already filed my Canadian taxes and am waiting on my return.

Do I need to wait to get the Canadian tax return to file the US taxes? Since I won't get my Canadian return by April 15, we are both thinking of filing individually for an extension of our US taxes. Is that right? My hubby will file the 4686 - but what about me?

Should I file the regular 4686 extension form or form 2350 and then file the 2555? That's essentially my question - should I file a normal extension and then fill out a standard 1040 with hubby or do I file a 2350 and then a 2555 and then a 1040?

    Confused!

The good thing is i already have a SS from a previous OPT, so I'm OK on that front. Does this matter for anything?

    Please advise, brilliant immigration humans!

  5. Hi everyone, the feds don't have my most recent i-94 on the website. They have an earlier land entry, not my most recent. This poses problems for my petition because I may want to travel while waiting for my interview. I looked online - wrong i-94 (date of entry is my second most recent, not my most recent). Called the deferred inspection site, and two officials said 2 diff things - one said dont worry about it, uscis will figure it out, and another said they cant look up my most recent number over the phone. i have one final option of filing the I-102, but its $330 and there is no guarantee they will locate the right i-94. this is all a moot point normally, but i think i might want to travel outside the country while waiting for my interview, meaning i need my most recent i-94 (with the second most recent, i will be out of status technically at the time of filing for AOS, so can be barred from re-entry after i leave.)

does anyone have any advice? should i drive down to the deferred inspection site? should i file the i-102?

    help!
