I am not taking the surname of my spouse. In this case, I am the husband :)

The issue is just like what I described above, on my BC, my name is Mathew (with a single 't') and on my GC, Passport, Drivers ID it is Matthew (with two 't''s). There was never a real change of name, one letter was added. Essentially, the name can be written both ways just as the example with Matthew or Mathew.

    I hope this makes sense.

I'm on the same boat and had the same question. I have an E on my last name as per the BC, but all my life I've used A and consequently all my IDs contain A. I was wondering what you ended up filling the form with and how was your experience with that approach? Thanks.

Question - where are green cards shipped from? I have a notification on informed delivery that I have an incoming piece of certified mail from San Francisco but haven't received any updates on either on the case tracking sites. Csc filer, if that matters 😊

Yes, it comes out straight from USCIS production facility in Corbin, Kentucky.  If a mail is undeliverable, it gets returned to NBC in Lee Summit, Missouri for address verification.  If the address change is received, then NBC mail it out again.  If not, it gets destroyed for security.

This time it appears to be sent out from Lee Summit, MO. That is what the note on "informed delivery" (under packages) indicates for me. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow.

  3. I have good news to share. I just created an account at the new site, and found that my case is approved on Feb 5th.  While I wait for the approval notice and the card to arrive, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised to find the approval. The pessimist in me did expect a lot of delays going by the processing timeline on the website and everything you see on the news.

I hope the approval notice finds you all very soon and we all can get on with our lives with one less item to worry about.

Btw, for the record I had received my 18month extension on 08/18/18 as well.

So I've been gone for over a week on vacation and come back to over 200 new posts I missed on various topics.  I too am getting the USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.  Still no CSC biometrics yet huh, that's disappointing.  At least most VSC people are making some progress.  Seems like waiting for that 3rd year and then applying for naturalization is the fastest way to go.  Keeping in good spirits though!

Hmm. I'm getting the same message too " Cannot provide you with information ... " -when I check the online case status. Wonder what's up with that?!?

  5. Hi,

My husband and I currently live in New York. But he may get a job offer in Denver, and we would really like to move. We recently got married, and almost have all necessary documents ready to file for AOS.

    However, we have some concerns:

As far as I know, the wait time is few months longer in Denver USCIS office versus NYC USCIS office.

Can we keep our NYC address on file during our application, have new tenant (we plan to sublet our NYC apartment) mail us all official correspondence and fly in when needed (for biomerics first then for an interview)?

Or is it not a good idea, and we should either file everything from Denver or go through the change of address process once we file everything from NYC then move?

NOT A GOOD IDEA to lie to USCIS about where you live. DO NOT DO IT.

Best option : If its only a matter of few weeks, you can file after you move to Denver.

Second best option : FIle in NY, move to Denver, File 865 and AR11. Its not a big deal - After you receive the address change confirmation mail at your new address, schedule an infopass appointment at the Denver field office and check if they got all the updates correctly. You need to verify if the jurisdiction on the application has moved from NY to Denver. You are most likely safe this being so early in the application process.

  6. do i schedule a physical info pass appointment at local USCIS office in SF? I got an appointment at San Francisco office next available date was the day before my scheduled interview. Will they be able to figure out what is going on and give us a print out of the letter appointment letter we need to go the next day to my interview?

I called USCIS service center and they told me they could not give me any information related to the case as I am not the beneficiary and that he must be on the phone to give his consent…. this is extremely irrratating I am his spouse and petitioner don't I have a right to get information and resolve the matter.

Im going to call tomorrow as well just to see what happens and make sure they got the address change in June even though we received a hard copy confirmation at our new address. Also should i go ahead and request a new letter via online?

    I'm probably going overboard…..

    thanks mucho for the help!!!

I would strongly suggest taking Infopass and showing up at the local uscis field office as early as possible. Schedule that appointment right away (you can cancel later on if you dont need). Do show up at the field office on Aug 23 or before that (Infopass) at the office. There is a chance they didn't do the address change properly - they can look it up when you are at the Infopass.

Was there a change in the jurisdiction office when you moved to your new address?

  7. Just got a text which say "

On May 24, 2016, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number MSC15********, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by June 23, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address

I did not get a text that says Approved only New Card was mailed to me and my wife's I-130 still say's "On June 24, 2015, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number MSC15********, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case.

Is this something to be worried about?

Nothing to be worried about - In all likelihood, you should have your card in a few days. doesn't the online status show a tracking number?

Here's how my online status progressed -Interview schedule > Post office picked up the card -> Post office delivered the card -> your case is approved.

I received the approval notice when the online status showed "interview schedule" . The status changed to "case approved" after I got the card in my hand.

  8. congratulation i got my inteview date via my online case status since the 3rd and todate no letter in the mail , thats 17 days ago.

Did you get it in the mail? Maybe you should call and ask them to send the notice again.

Hi there, I am happy for all the people that got their greencard or interview already. Just wanted to share my frustrating story. We sent our AOS documents back in June and got an RFE in July 2015. I am pretty sure that they just lost part of the documents but whatever...We sent the documents right away and they said that they are going to start working on our case again. In September 2015 I got the Visa Waiver letter and I was super happy about that. Until now, I havent heard anything. I sent a case inquiry two weeks ago and got the answer today. ANOTHER RFE!!! I havent received it in the mail yet but it can only be the medical that obviously expired by now..I am just sooo frustrated and just want to give up on all that to be honest...

Hang in there. This could be your last hurdle.

  9. Thanks. So I took the Infopass appointment at San Antonio (Feb 8th).

Still waiting (local CIS office is San Antonio) . Raised a service request to query the delay on Jan 16th, but is still unassigned for processing.

Got an email response to the service request - says my case is ready for interview and that I should wait for the local office to schedule it when they are able to. (Online status say - fingerprint fee accepted on Jun 30th)

I have an infopass next week - keeping fingers crossed.

  10. Myself and two other people I know personally did infopasses and a few days after green cards were issued. Actually at my infopass I was told "you're going to wait for an interview for a very long time" and them bam, green card. So talking to customer service at USCIS is like talking to a child, they don't know anything and have no authority, they are contractors and nothing more. If you want actual answers you're better of speaking to a tier 2 officer but I find that in many cases and infopass gets a lot more done than just waiting.

Thanks. So I took the Infopass appointment at San Antonio (Feb 8th).

any news for the June filers who are still waiting like me?
