AOS packet sans I693 sent 8/19. Arrived at Dallas PO Box 8/22, CC swiped 8/23, text message for I485, I765 receipt numbers received 8/24.

May the waiting game begin. Best of luck to everyone.

Update with a better date format:

    8/8/2023 - Submitted I-130 Online

    8/21/2023 - I-485, I-765, I-131 Case Received and Receipt Notice Sent

9/5/2023 - I-130 status changed to "Case is being actively reviewed"

    9/5/2023 - I-693 Medical requested

I have since then sent in the I-693 RFE and it should arrive at DHS/USCIS tomorrow.
I have not gotten a notice for Biometrics, is this typical? How soon were your Biometrics scheduled? Getting concerned.

  2. @SusieQQQ and @Unlockable

For the student visa, I would need to prove that I can fund her whole year tuition and fees + living expenses, which I am fortunate enough to have.
I just wanted to give her the education and opportunity to start her career here. And she cannot start a job here when her F-1 student visa is up, and that's the only predicament I have.
I was not aware that there are talks about them removing that category :(

I think I know what next steps I need to take, thank you all for your help!!

  3. Wait... So if my parents immigrate here first, are we expected to leave my youngest sibling back home while my parents live here for the time it takes for them to process the F2A?

Also, is it possible to file for her permanent residence now, but when she graduates high school in 2 years apply for a student visa for her to come here and go to school while the green card process is on-going?

I really appreciate your input guys, thank you!!

  4. Hello all!

VJ has helped me so much along my journey and as of May 2019 I am officially a USC! With that being said, I need help with certain scenarios. Keep in mind, my main focus is getting my youngest sibling (15 years old) here with me so I can see her through college here.
I also have another sibling who is 23 years old but she already finished her college in Singapore. Both unmarried with no children.

    1) Should I petition for both of them? I know they are on low priority so it will be a long time before they become permanent residents. (Not ideal)

    2) Should I petition for my parents for their permanent residence and then get them to petition my siblings? Will that be a quicker process?

I hope I can get some help around this, I appreciate your help and insights!

Is there any San antonio, June/July filer in this thread???

    Here!
Filed for N400 at the end of July 2018 with a pending I-751, this will be based on 3 year marriage. I got a letter in December 2018 saying my file was transferred to Lee Summit MO, so I am uncertain what that means for my timeline.
They said my expected case completion date would be in Oct 2019.

    What about you?
Or anyone else with a similar timeline and situation?

  7. Hi everyone,

I just got this NOA today and it is for my I-765, which I filed alongside my I-485 and I-130.

I shall type the first paragraph from the NOA verbatim so that I do not cause any confusion trying to explain my situation.

" The above application has been approved. The separate application for adjustment of status has also been approved. (A separate notice of this approval will be mailed.) Since the applicant has been granted permanent residence, an EAD card will not be issued because this card is not for use by permanent residents to establish employment eligibility. "

Ok so, first of all, I can understand English just fine. I am just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if you were mailed your green card soon after getting this notice. Or if, like "Interview Waiver cases", you had to wait upwards to a year?

I am slightly confused also, since this is my application for I-765, and my other case statuses were never updated since USCIS told me they'd receive my stuff back in March.

    Thanks for your help!

  8. Hi

I am adjusting from F1 jus like you. I dun think it is necessary for u to wait for that long. I guess it really depends on ur local office. in Los Angeles, all the cases seem to be processed really fast. My interview got scheduled in two months after they received my application.

I think you can check your local office processing time frame on USCIS web, tho it might not be accurate cos it says in LA, it takes 5 months.. But truth is around 3 months. LOL

    Good luck on ur journey!

    Hi

Thanks for posting on this thread.

I just saw your timeline and I am nothing but jealous right now!

We basically sent our packages at the same time! They received my package on the 16th of March. I'm happy for you though, with no RFEs and with everything so smooth sailing, I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck on your interview!

  9. With USCIS current backlog you should expect an interview on average after 6 months of filing. If you're lucky to fall in a reasonable field office with slightly better pace maybe after 4 months. I also adjusted from F1 and my timeline is below. Yes you should expect to ha e an interview.

Oh my! They take a while don't they?

Thank you for sharing! At least now I know how long it'll take approximately for my case to be reviewed and whatnot.

  10. You are probably better of than adjusting from a K, most likely you will be interviewd and amusingly that is quicker.

Obviously varies by office if I was to pluck a number I would say 6 months. My GC arrived within the week YMMV

Just hit the report button below to report rude posters.

Ooohhh I can reply like this, awesome.

Well, I would love to be interviewed ASAP and get this over with, but then I guess that's everybody.

I sent everything to the Chicago Lockbox, but then it ended up at the National Benefits Center (Receipts start with MSCxxxxxx)

And for some reason, I can't seem to find timelines for AOS from F1 (Unless I really am that blunt to not notice it while scrolling through the webpage)

But then for March 2015 AOS filers, some already have interviews scheduled in June! So that's probably the earliest I have seen among the K1 visas.

So yeah, getting an interview notice soon would be great.

  11. Hello G Walters

Thank you for your prompt response. I asked a question on here a couple of months back and you were the only one that replied and I never formally thanked you because of how hectic it was for me to gather all the paperwork and whatnot.
So thank you so much, I appreciate your input here, and I am sure there are many others who do as well.
Your K1 AOS went really quick! I would say you're lucky, but I am sure you did everything accordingly and they had no reason to deny you. So kudos!

So far I have seen a bunch of AOS from K1 March filers having their interview dates set, and I can't help but wonder if anything went wrong with my package.
And no, I haven't gotten any updates on my I-130 or my I-485 and it's causing me to be slightly anxious..

  12. Hi everyone,

I am fairly new here and I never post as I am terrified by rude posters, however I am genuinely curious about AOS timelines so it would be great knowing that there are people going through the same processes.
If you went through a similar process, which is adjusting from an F1 visa, do leave a comment of your timeline and where your field office is.

A little about my visa timeline

Aug 2012- Entered the USA with F1 visa to attend school
    Dec 2014- Married my husband
Jan 2015- Moved across country to be with him for his job (Not attending school currently)
    March 10, 2015- Sent in AOS package which includes (I-130, I-485. I-864, I-693, I-765)
March 16, 2015- Package received at Chicago Lockbox
    March 20, 2015- NOA1
April 15, 2015- Biometrics was completed at Cincinnati OH ASC.
May 26, 2015- I-765 was accepted and my EAD is in production

How long did it take you to get your greencard?

Also, should this topic have already been in discussion, admins feel free to merge/delete. Thank you.

  13. Hi everyone!

My husband and I got married very recently on the 23rd of December, 2014 after his graduation from Officer Training School. I am very new to this and it is a lot of information to absorb and a lot of things to do, I don't know where to start and how to go about this, he is currently stationed in Ohio while I originally was attending school in Texas. Since he moved here, I am with him here also because I really...really don't want to spend our initial year(s) of the marriage apart, which also means I won't be attending school this Spring and potentially not until the Fall. What can I do so that I won't get in trouble with immigration? Also, will this affect my husband at all, since I am a foreign national?

I appreciate any help at all.

    Thanks so much!
