  1. Thanks a lot Hypnos.

The information you provided is really encouraging.

Do you know someone in the same situation confirming that I can stay in the US and obtain EAD and AP until my priority date becomes current in F2B / or is this mentioned somewhere on USCIS website :)

Other members please also share your ideas.

I am currently here on an F1 visa. My LPR spouse applied for I130 which was approved and we filed for AOS, EAD based on 'Dates to file' table. I am F2A and opted for adjusting instead on consular filing. I currently hold I797 receipts for I485 and EAD (did not apply for AP) which allows me to remain in US until PD is current-hopefully before June 2016. I am awaiting EAD which should be approved at the beginning of January. My PD is Dec. 2014.

  2. Speaking of driving licences, just wondering if anyone knows do us beneficiaries with our home country driving licenses have to take a driving test here in the US or can i simply apply for a state license to replace my current UK driving license?

    Thanks

It will depend on your state. Maryland allows you to take a written and driving exam without the required driving hours if you have an unexpired license from your country. Check the DMV online or call for clarification. It can be a complicated process if your license is expired or unreadable. Good luck.

  3. Unbelievable - I rescheduled biometrics because we were away on that date, and on the new date I will also be travelling.

    I think I'll try walk-in tomorrow.

Do they still continue to work on the application even though biometrics are not taken, or is it just lying on a pile now waiting for the results? That would be too bad, since I am applying for a job and would really like my EAD.

D.Ba, I was wondering the same thing. I haven't had biometric and hope it doesn't delay EAD

  4. Ok, please let us know as soon as the first EAD/AP cards start to be received. It should happen in the next 2 weeks for the early October filers.

I have pretty much the same timeline as Sean & Kristina.

    Cheers! :joy:

Have you had your biometric appointment?
  5. My husband's biometrics appointment letter arrived today. Since we live in Maryland, I expected that we would be required to report to the Baltimore field office... instead the letter is instructing us to go to Dover, Delaware. We do live in a border town within 15 minutes driving time from Delaware, but we are clearly residents of Maryland. Is this something new they are doing? Does this mean that the Delaware office will be handling us from now on? I can't even really find out any processing times for that office..

Yuna628, I wish I had an answer for you. I've been following your timeline as we are in the same state with a similar timeline. I have not received my biometric appointment letter though my case was accepted on the 3rd. I have no idea what's going on. Congratulations on getting your appointment; you guys are one step closer:)

  6. Hi Chejemmie. I don't think you can do that at biometrics appointment but it doesn't hurt to ask them when you're there. What I meant was that you need to bring you marriage certificate in case your ID or passport has still your maiden last name but your biometrics letter has your spouse last name. That was my case. I changed my maiden last name for my husband's and it shows it in the marriage certificate but my passport still has my maiden name and since I filed with my married last name, I had to show them the marriage certificate to prove it was me.

    Okay, I understand. Thank you.?

  7. Marriage certificate is needed to show in case you change your last name to spouse name

    Hello Lizb2013,

I have a question. I did not change my name at marriage as I misunderstood the process. Now my understanding is that I will first need to change it on my foreign passport before my SS, DL etc can be changed. Are you saying that although I used my maiden name in the AOS application, I can request to have my married name used at the Biometric appt? Pls note that my marriage certificate has my maiden name.

  8. So, does USCIS retain the PD from the I130 to process an AOS, or does AOS have its own PD? My petitioner is a GC holder and my AOS is pending at NBC. If yes, does this mean that the AOS will be processed based on if the date is current at your local office? My PD is 12/31/2014 and my local office is Baltimore. Baltimore is currently processing cases on or before 12/26/2014. Thank you.

  9. I am late OCT filer with case accepted in NOV. Just received my notice i-797 in mail.

    10/24/2015 - Documents Sent

10/26/2015 - Documents Received as per USPS

    11/03/2015 - Case Accepted - Receipt # received in eMail - SMS

    11/04/2015 - Check Cashed

11/07/2015 - Notice i-797 received in mail with A - number (All Forms). TODAY

I never had "A number" before.

Do we get "A number" first time in the receipt of i485, i131, i765 ???? who never had it before.

    Any thought or same experience?

We seem to share a similar case. Did not know you are given an A number on the receipt. I am awaiting the hard copies in the mail. My case was accepted around the same time as yours. Good luck!
