  1. The validity of the PCC is one year from the date of issue. You can check the date of issue on the stamping that was done at the back of your passport. Therefore, if your PCC is valid at the time of the interview there are no issues. As for Police clearance and passport clearance certificates (as mentioned by @Jot18) only the PCC issued by the passport seva kendra or Regional passport Office (RPC) is required.

    Thank you so much AOD132.

  2. So the long long wait is over and my visa is finally approved.

I reached the consulate at 0630 for a 0730 interview. They let us in at 0700. After the security check they asked everybody to wait in the immigration wait area.

After a few minutes they called me and collected my DS 260, PCC, Medical report, Marriage certi, passport and Birth Certi all these documents went for verification. They gave me the domestic violence paper to read and i had to again wait for an hour since there were many applicants.

Finally my ticket number appeared on the screen. Window 16!! A young american lady greeted me. She looked quite friendly and all smiling.

She asked me to read out the oath while flipping at my documents.

She tells me that people go through bad marriages and if u face any kind of harassment u shud immediately contact the police.

Then she turns to me and asks

    1) What does your husband do?

    2) How did u guys meet?

    3) When did he go to the US

    4) How old was he when to the US

    5) When was the last time u went to the US?

    6) Was it a love/arranged marriage?

    7) When did ur husband visited you the last time

I said he was waiting outside, at that she smiled and said that my visa has been APPROVED

Congratulations Sunshine1311 !!!!!!!!!! Just need your advice i have interview next month and i am really confused about PCC, I have obtained PCC from Passport office in the month of Aug 2014 and they gave me 2 copies of PCC and they put a stmap on my passport too, so I have submitted 1 original copy to NVc and the 2nd original its with me so I am really confused do i need to apply once again for PCC or i need to carry the 2nd copy which i have to the interview??Please advice....

  3. AS far as the indian PCC's go the passport office should have issued you with 2 copies of the PCC and a stamping in your passport.

Thereby you have sent one and should have one for the interview.

If you don't it is highly recommended you speak to the passport office to give you one more as without the PCC the consulate will not let you in for the interview itself.

The passport office gave me 2 copies one i have already submitted to NVC and the second one its with me.....what is the validity for PCC?

  7. HELLO PEOPLE,

I Hope everyone is still on track mentally.I know this whole process takes its toll.

I have a question.I received an email from NVC yesterday which goes as follows :

    "Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview."

May be,if im not mistaken, this means my Case is complete at the NVC ? But i want to be sure. Did anyone receive this kind of email before a confirmation email of Case Complete from NVC ? What should be my next step? Your replies would be really appreciated.

I hope all of you have a smooth sail in this process.God bless.

    Thank you.

Congrats!!!!!!! I have received the same email 2 weeks back, now waiting for the interview date.......

  8. I applied for CR-1, my AOS status changed from "paid" to "n/a" on the 16th last week. Today NVC sent me this email "Dear Sir/Madam,

I don't really understand what this email means. Anyone who has received this email should please explain to me. I am so curious about this email. Thanks for your response.

Hi petrite, Congratulations on your CC, I have received the same email Yesterday I got my CC last week.......Waiting for the Interview date.... :)

  9. Hello everyone,

We received an email from NVC stating they received our checklist, but also they say to allow 60 days (again) for reviewing it. Does anyone know if it will really take another 60 days just for reviewing a checklist? Are there any hopes they will process it earlier? Any cases in similar situation? Thank you.

Any documents you send to NVC they will take 60 days, I have received checklist twice the 1st one they took 54 days and the 2nd one 58 days.......

  10. Thanks you so much everyone for your answers!!!!!

Me and my husband communicate with each other everyday through phone calls,Skype calls, viber msgs, since two years we got married my husband is supporting me every month i have all the receipts of western union, money grams. I have wedding album, invitation card, honeymoon tickets, our wedding DVD,I have photographs of our 1st anniversary,he came here in india so i also have a copy of his tickets, I Will also add few photographs of our pre marraige ceremonies..... its been now 15 months we haven't meet each other face to face as he gets stuck in something or the other work whenever he plans but on a daily basis we are in touch through calls, text and Skype....USCIS took 1 year to send the Approval and than another 11 months in NVC, twice we received checklist from NVC and each time 60 days wait notice we have received, the wait is really painful and now when we are so close I don't want anything to go wrong....So I am really Concern!!!!! please suggest, the proofs which i have mentioned will help or we need something more?
