  1. Alright peeps. I had the naturalization interview and same day Oath ceremony at Irving Field office last Thursday July 30th. Everything took around 3 hours. The interview was scheduled for 12.05 and it was done and approved at around 1.30 and the oath was at 2.30 pm. Quick and easy. Thank God. It was maybe 20 of us at the Oath ceremony standing at least 6 feet apart. The interview itself  took like 15 mins tops. Oh before I forget you can not apply for the passport there anymore. They give you the packet with everything in it but you’d have to go do it yourself at post office or a court

Anyone still active on this thread?

not really, but I'll put my 2 cents in I guess lol

My interview finally have been rescheduled for July 30th in Dallas after being canceled back in March due to COVID 19 of course. bummer. I would have been done by now ugh. oh well. just 9 days to go. I was wondering if anyone knows if USCIS does any same day interview and oat ceremony considering I would have to drive almost 300 miles one way just to get there?

I haven’t heard anything from USCIS since biometrics last August. No interview date scheduled. Is this normal?

no it's not normal. you should contact USCIS about it.

on the good note, my interview was finally rescheduled after it was cancelled back in March right when COVID 19 hit. I was so close ugh.

rescheduled for July 30th in Dallas TX. Wish me luck

  5. I came to the US on F1 student visa as a Grad student. While I was employed by the University I studied at I also signed up through another company to work on campus at Concession stand at sport events. I only worked there for a couple weekends within like 2.5 month before I received my work authorization a few months later. I’m concerned it will cause some problems at the naturalizations interview. I would have to mention it in the application because it’s on my tax transcripts for that year. I have read somewhere that’s unauthorized work is forgiven to spouses of USC.  Have anyone been in similar situation?

  6. I haven't posted much in this group for a while but I just wanted to let you know that I had my interview in Dallas Texas on November 9th and wasn't approved on the spot. Seems like Dallas filed office doesn't issue approvals on the spot much these days. On November 15th I received a notification that all my filed cases were approved and 10 year green card is being produced. Yay I thought there was no end to this hell. The whole process was extremely nerve wrecking and long.

  7. Here is my timeline - Dallas Field Office

Adjust of status based on us citizen marriage:

I might be off a day or so on the dates that I provide but at least you have a picture of Dallas field office processing time. Just make sure when ever you receive a letter from uscis, you reply quick so you save time.

    09/23/15: mailed package

09/30/15 : priority date (letter from uscis stated that the received my package)

10/10/15: letter for biometric finger print recieve do

    10/24/15: biometric was done

    11/01/15: letter received requesting a I-864 sponsor

11/15/15: mailed I-864 and was received by uscis in 3 days

12/15/15: letter from uscis requesting more evidences for I-864 (bank statements and others)

    12/27/15: mailed I-864 evidences to

01/22/2016: case is ready for scheduling, will schedule your interview and mail you a notice

    Waiting 8 months

8/15/2016: received a letter saying they schedule my interview

09/16/2016:interview completed and approved .. they asked me to send them some evidences and then I will received my GC so I sent them and now waiting for green card.

In total exactly a year from the date that I mailed my package to the date my case was approved

    (09/23/2015-09/16/2016)

I know it took some people in Dallas more than two years just because they are so slow and they reply so slow to uscis! So be ready and organized and mail them what they ask for quick.

    Good Luck

What evidence did they ask to send after the interview?
  8. nope, we were not married when we filed taxes. so we filed seperatley

You have worked here on F1 visa and USCIS will not accept your income unfortunately even though you have filed and paid taxes. You may get an RFE if your husband's income is insufficient, sorry. :(

You can send either 2015 complete IRS federal income tax return transcript or for last 3 years, it's up to you pretty much.

  9. My husband didn't enroll in the semester while our AOS was processing. We knew once he had his green card he would be eligible for in-state tuition and federal financial aid. Thus, it was an economic decision for us, and the right one. He continued with school once he received his green card.

I was considering this case scenario as well but I applied to be consider a resident for tuition purposes and was approved. So now I pay only in state tuition. Woo hoo. It was a challenge though. My school was kind of against it for a while until I proved them wrong. You should have done it too if you're quilified of course.
  10. She doesn't need to worry about low income from 2014. Is she getting any return from 2015 tax return she filed yesterday coz if she in fact owes IRS, the USCIS will not approve you the GC until it's paid. Similar with 2013.

Where did you get that information from?

USCIS is not IRS and they don't care if you owe taxes or not. They care that you filled all required income tax returns. He doesn't have to pay it all at ones, they can set up a payment plan and pay it out in 72 months. I'm talking from my own experience with IRS and USCIS.

  11. just got off the phone with tier 2 agent. she told me to expect 6-9months. I will get approved by year end as they are severely backlogged at this time. bs. by that time they might give me rfe for expired medical....and I will have to spend more money on the medical

Same here. I'm sure I'll be scheduled for an interview around the time I filed this year. I already know that I will have to redo my medical...
