Paid the fee back in April
-
No green card yet... Still waiting and waiting...
-
Ok so I wrote a post inquiring about green card procedure and I pretty much understood what you guys told me... But I have a question about my biometric appointment I attended some weeks ago. I was granted a CR1 visa in London and at the time of the interview they took my fingerprints. Then at POE they took my fingerprints again (normal)
Then after a few months I got a letter asking me to go in to have more biometrics done. On the letter is was showing this was for my case regarding the GC
I've never heard of anyone having to do this when on a CR1 visa.
Can anyone shine any light on this?
Is this normal?

I paid for it in April and entered at JFK on July 6

Thanks for your replies. I contacted USCIS a number of times with little response or help. After I got my cr1 visa accepted in London the officer told me to go ahead and pay the fee for the green card which I did in April. On the case tracker it said that I would receive my GC by August.
Anyway I called them in August and was told I would have to wait another few months as Aparently it's based upon entry to the USA. So I've waited and waited but still nothing apart from a biometric appointment that I addend. I called again about 2 weeks ago and a lady said she was going to put in a serivce request which takes 30 days to obtain a response.
I originally entered the USA 18months into our marriage.

Hey guys it's been a while since I've posted anything on here as I've been so busy getting to grips with life here in the USA.
So my question is I have still not received my actual green card in the mail as of yet and in two months time i would have been married for over two years. So will I receive a 2 year GC or 10 year GC? I did receive a letter from the uscis asking me to go to s biometric appointment that I attended but that was over 6 weeks ago? Not sure if this wait time is normal?
Can anyone shine any light on this situation for us?
I'm also planning on spending the month of December in my home country with my family, is this going to be an issue with or without a physical GC? I have the stamp in my passport.
Also do you think they would have an issue with my husband not traveling with me for the holiday period?
( he wants to be with his family and I want to be with mine this Christmas)

Hi Jana
Unfortunately even though he is allowed to drive on US roads as a tourist with his uk licence, the DMV have a ridiculous law that makes new residents with foreign licences retake the test from scratch.

Hi there
So at the begging of April my cr1 visa was approved. The officer asked when I would be leaving and I said July as that's when our new apartment would be ready....
Anyway my question is, after entering into the USA can I travel back to England for a month after with no issues?
I would need to go back to finish my contract off with work and also to ship more of my belongings.
I cannot wait until the begging of August to leave the uk as our new apartment requires me to be there to sign the lease too.
Any advise?

Well firstly you will need to obtain letters from all medical professionals you are under stating that you are no longer a risk to yourself nor do you have any ongoing issues.
All I can go off is what other members have posted but I'm sure other members will be able to help advise you better.
But for sure your past actions will affect you in for sure delaying your process. In saying that everything is dealt with case by case and situation by situation. No one can tell you if you will get a green light or not.
I wouldn't stress too much about it as there's not much you can do except gather medical letters to show you arnt at risk to yourself and you have no ongoing issues.

the second time AP is good news. u should see issued soon
I read that other people got a different creation date before you issued and also a change in visa type.
Mine still says same creation date and same immigrants visa type though.
Is this normal

Ok so I'm a little confused I had my interview last week and my medical didn't arrive on the day of my medical, it came a few hours after my interview. The officer kept my passport and told me I would get my passport back in 2 weeks time.
After my interview my case status went into AP. On Monday my case went back to READY, then this morning it changed again back to AP.
Is this normal?
Any help is really appreciated

If your application is denied you must update your ESTA VWP. If you don't update it then you might end up in more trouble at POE.
Sounds like your wanting to just use your VWP to go over to the states and Adjust your status.

Yes very easy to get US passport style photos from most major supermarkets.
When I just went for my interview he took the passport photos and scanned them and have them me back

If you have been married for 7 years then I wouldn't worry about it. There not going to ask questions he wouldn't know.
-
You just made a post the other day about your petition and being impatient.
There's nothing you can do to work out how many times your case has been looked at.
You just need to sit tight and wait.

If your last post and this post arnt negative then I don't know what is. Saying the words that's great but I still wouldn't count on it isn't positive towards the OP.That's great, but I still wouldn't count on him getting it in 3 months instead of 12 until it was actually in his hands.
Not negativity, but practicality. Some people just see what they want to see.
Try and put yourself in her shoes... And consider the family's feelings.
The OP wasn't asking for advice, just simply sharing an experience.

I wouldn't count on anything until he has the visa in his hands.
Why do you have to bring negativity in this post!
And she wasn't talking about obtaining his visa! She was being informative in letting people know the outcome of her husbands admittance to smoking a pot.

Totally agree! It seems very strange to me how people that are happily married seem to have some difficulty proving a bonafide marriage...but in cases like this it is so easy for one party to "prove we had a bonafide marriage"

Wait until you receive an RFE. Might have delayed yourself a few months

Just explaining what I have seen happen with 8 years watching UK forum on here and it wasn't the clinic's fault. There is a wait for the lab results to come back to them and a weekend when nothing happens.
Are you asking how you know the officer thinks your medical is acceptable? If there was anything wrong with it, the clinic would have called you. If the clinic has sent it on to the embassy, then assume you passed all requirements.
Hopefully it will all get sorted quickly, but don't think something is wrong if it takes longer than those who didn't get the 221(g). When it says "issued" you know it's done and will be handed over to the courier.
Thank you for your input on my post nich-nick I really appreciate it.
Knightsbridge emailed me this morning and confirmed it was delivered at the embassy yesterday afternoon. It's just too bad that I can't contact the embassy to get an update.
I hope it doesn't take long as it's not like they needed additional evidence just needed my medical to issue the visa.
Plus I'm supposed to be going to Spain at the end of the month for work and now I'm concerend about not having my passport back in time ?

So you are the USC? Living in the U.K.?
-
Okay yes you only need to use one or the other alongside his or her bank account number.
If you don't like doing it that way I suggest you check out HiFx as they cover your transfer all the way. They are the top uk money transferring service company.
Very easy to set up an account and money only takes a few hours to be sent and depending on your wife's bank, it normally clears in 24-48hours
-
Let me get this right.. You met your parents neighbor and feel in loved and got married within a 3 month period??????
-
Well it can take up to 45 days to get a case complete. Then it can take from a few days to a few weeks to get to the embassy.
Is this normal guys?

Well just to update you guys as far as the request I made with uscis. I received a email with an update saying I should receive my green card within 90 days of receiving this email.
Well to be honest i find the whole system to be flawed and take whatever they say with a pinch of salt. So I'm hopeful I should receive it soon, hopefully within the next 30days fingers crossed.
Just find it so unfair for those who follow procedures and end up waiting way beyond time frames but if we are late with the uscis we are punished.
I'm dreading the ROC already ?
