Got our case complete email early this morning. Had called on Friday and they told us about it on the phone but I forgot to ask the exact date.
The email is dated today but I have seen people say it takes 7 days. So if we got the email today does that mean our real case complete date was really last Tuesday?
Thanks

Thanks for the info.
I remember there was a spreadsheet of the interviews posted here before. Can anyone link me please?
Good luck everyone still waiting! Especially waiting on this week!
The link to the spreadsheet is in this monthly thread:

Hi
I'm also from Canada. How can you tell all the interviews are booked?
I'm currently waiting on my cc with scan date of sept 2 (got a checklist) so new scan date October 23.
Well I don't know for sure. But from what I have seen they schedule the next months interviews all by around the middle of the month. And I have seen people on here from Canada getting interviews for like December 15-20th a few weeks ago. So just an educated guess.
You should fill out your timeline more for your NVC step, helps everyone out.
-
Congratulations! All the best with your interview, we hope it will be sooner than that if this what you want....
I would have loved sooner, but from what I have seen they have already scheduled all of the December interviews for the consulate where I am going.

That's great!! happy to hear it
You will probably get an email soon, so you'll be able to really believe!
Thanks! I hope so...still not sure I believe haha.
Hi Brentos, congrats! I am happy with u
Thank you!
Congrats Brentos !
Thanks! Hope you hear something soon for your IV payment.

Didn't have a chance to post here yesterday.
Called and the agent I spoke to told me that it seems we now have a case complete and are waiting for an interview to be scheduled.
Originally sent documents by email September 7th. They lost the emails,. Resubmit with scan date of October 12th. Finally official case complete November 20th (not sure exact date as I forgot to ask when I called so going with the 20th...but can't be far off).
Here is to hoping for a quick interview probably in January!
-
Just got off the phone with NVC.
Finally the guy told me that our case is complete...I had to ask him like 3 times because I didn't believe him. Because he said "Well it looks like we have everything we need from you", which is what they have told me for almost the last month then tell me about the backlog creating the electronic file etc...so I asked him and he said no everything looks good and you are in line to be scheduled for an interview.
Finally!!
Originally submitted on Sept 7th electronically, they lost the emails
Resubmitted with Scan date of October 12th.
Case complete November 20th (not sure on the exact date...I forgot to ask him I was too excited).
I am probably going to call back Monday to ask again...as I am still like...."are you sure??"

They scan all the documents received from you for the IV and AOS package. They review every single document you submitted to make sure you have everything needed before completing your case and sending it to the embassy.
That is why they need time to go thru everything.
USCIS has nothing to do with NVC, as far as documents go.
This isn't true. Your hard copy file gets sent from USCIS to NVC. So they have everything that you sent from USCIS at NVC. That is what they are actually getting when they get your case from USCIS. USCIS does not send anything to the Embassy or Consulate, the NVC is like the go between for all that.
NVC will send your file from USCIS to the Embassy or Consulate for your interview. If you do electronic processing, they do scan your documents in to make an electronic file. Not sure of they have started doing that for all files. I know right now I am stuck waiting for my CC because they are creating my electronic file (scanning USCIS documents) so that it can all be sent to the Embassy or Consulate. There is some sort of backlog. They could have decided to start scanning everyone case if they are going to start making a push to do it all electronically. But that I am not sure.
-
in your place I would write the application acceleration, it does not delay your application rather progress if you have a positive response. It takes around five days to respond .... go there
Ok, thank you for the advice. I am just concerned because the agent on the phone made it seem like it could delay us by another 45 days as all processing on the case will stop until they received a reply. But NVC agents don't always know what to say.
-
Called NVC again and they say that my case is still basically complete but that they are waiting to create the electronic case file still. Not sure really what to do at this point. Agent I spoke to on Friday said I could submit an expedite request. Agent I just spoke to now said I could but it could take 45 days to get a response which could actually make my case slower.
Really not sure what do to at this point. The agent now said there is nothing they can do to help me but for me to wait. Other people submitting electronically like I did are getting case complete already...I am worried I am just stuck some where. It shouldn't take this long without any timeline. All they tell me is that it is back logged and as soon as it is done they will let me know. I mean can't anyone there help any more besides to say that? I asked if a supervisor could help and he said no.
-
They are still telling me that my case is backlogged creating the electronic file. So I basically have a case complete, but they still need to scan in my USCIS documents and make an electronic file.
Agent on Friday told me that I can submit an expedite request. Another agent I spoke to today, says I can submit a request. But that submitting a request can take 45 days to process and for that time my case basically stops and if I were to wait now, it could be shorter.
Does anyone have any advice on if submitting an expedite would be a good idea or not? I mean if they even approve it based on them losing things. But I wouldn't want it to take longer. You can tell the whole process is messed up when submitting an expedite request can actually take longer.
-
I can't even imagine how frustrated and upset I'd be if I'd been waiting as long as you
I'm sorry they haven't gotten their act together for your file.
I hope you get some good news really soon!
Thanks. Just a frustrating day. I was hoping to get some good news today for at least a full case complete. But still stuck creating my file. I thought it was kind of a regular backlog but people that have submitted after me are getting done before me. Anyways I could go on a rant by I'm just depressed now. Hopefully I get an early January interview.

Lucky Friday the 13th for Canadians with case complete: so far 3/4 of us got December interview dates today.
Good luck, everyone!!
Wow lucky you. Congrats.
I must just be really unlucky. I submitted my documents electronically long before you, they lost them, submitted them again before you and I'm stuck with a half case complete while they are creating my electronic file (scanning in USCIS file) and you already have an interview date. I must just be really unlucky.

Yep, I also regret going with EP. There was no good info at the time about EP's problems.
I've had 3 N/As since Sep 3rd.
Technically I have had case complete (when you call and they say, we got everything from you, everything looks good, final stage) since at least October 1.
Currently my Case Complete is 26th, but they messed up by telling me it was complete on 16th. So, I guess I'll know if its complete on November 2, when I receive the email.
I guess this has something to do with very slow delivery of I130 of stuff to be scanned into your NVC file, or something like that.
Good luck.
Was just told that we are basically stuck at the same place. Case basically complete but still waiting for electronic file to be generated. Only thing she could say (even after speaking to a supervisor) is that there is no update and that she could give information on how to submit an expedite request. Really not sure what to do at this point....my wife is really starting to have a hard time with this all. Being alone with the two kids (one 3 months old) and us basically being in limbo and broke supporting two homes.
-
So I just got off the phone with NVC. Again they told us the same thing. That our case is basically complete but they are waiting to generate my electronic file (scanning the documents from USCIS) and that is backlogged and there is no time frame on this. She told me she can give me info on how to submit an expedite request (which I already know how to do). Really don't know what to do at this point. Does anyone know if sending an expedite request is worth it or will it just slow down my case possibly?
I would not recommend anyone to do electronic processing. It was just a mistake.
-
We were approved! I am so happy
I do not have good access to internet now so I will post later with more detail, but it feels like it wasn't even an interview. It felt like they made the decision even before the interview started - there were only 5 very basic questions:
1) How did you meet?
2) When did you meet?
3) What do you do for a living?
4) What does your husband do for a living?
5) Have you met his family?
I wish everybody a wonderful weekend.
For those still waiting, your time will come soon. Don't lose hope.
Your support here has made this journey a lot easier, thank you a lot.
Congratulations! That is awesome news!
-
That's a real bummer for you, I'll cross my fingers that you get some good news soon....maybe we'll see each other in Montreal
Haha well I live in Montreal....so that is the one good thing about the process for me in that the interviews are done here.

All I know is what they told me, and the lady said it was complete and they'd be scheduling my interview.
I resubmitted specific documents from both the IV and the AoS submissions because I got an email from them that they were unable to open the PDF files. I had used a 3rd party PDF app to add my case number to a bunch of the documents while in my Google drive, and I guess the NVC system didn't like that. So I re-sent the "naked" PDf files (no case number added) and crossed my fingers.
I can tell you that I had a very clear and specific cover letter for each submission that had all the filenames in it, and also each email body had the complete list of every file and filename that was attached, and I was diligent in naming the files the way the NVC recommends. When I re-sent, I sent as a response to the person who had sent me the request, rather than going to the general electronic submission address. Maybe that's why? there was no instruction about that so I just responded.
I just don't know. I don't know why my NOA2 took 48 days and some people's takes 20 days and some people's take 200 days. it's all a big mystery.
Good luck to all!
More power to you that you are moving through faster I guess.
I was more curious on how your case got done so fast at the NVC.
For the NOA2, you got it in 48 days because you were at the California Service centre, they are basically the fastest one. It does vary there from 20-60 or so days. No idea why but it is just the way it is. The other ones vary depending on the service centre. Nebraska is right around 5 months 130-150 days. Texas I think is similar. Vermont doesn't do many from what I have seen...so dunno.
I just callled (I had last called on Monday) and they told me that my case is complete and reviewed and that they have everything they need but that they are still generating my electronic case file to send to the consulate here. So I really don't know.
Good luck getting your interview scheduled, and on the interview

All I can suppose is that because my husband and I both have NEXUS cards, they have already performed a lot of the background checks on us? most of the info needed for the DS-260 I had sent CBP a few years back with that application.
I'm still completely stunned though.
I sincerely hope everyone else still waiting gets a speedy CC!
Now to wait for an interview...from other Canadians on this forum, it seems like that can take a few months, too.
Did they tell you if it was a total case complete or? I know you did electronic processing like we did. They told us that our case is "technically" complete but they are backlogged creating the electronic cases (I believe scanning in the documents from USCIS). So we are waiting for that. I submitted September 7th and then when they couldn't find them again on October 12th. So if you got it so much quicker to a total case complete...not sure what that means for us since we submitted before and have a PD way before haha.
Also I saw in your sig you said you resubmitted after only a few days, why did you do that?
Thanks

Still showing 2 N/A's on the portal.
Ah okay then it is something else I guess. It is really hard to tell with the NVC what is going on. It seems like every case is just hit or miss. They lost our first emails to them and told us everything was fine for 30 days...at like 35 days they finally said "yeah maybe you should resend the emails".
I think they are just backlogged all over the place and they seem to have different employees that work and handle cases very differently. Some seem to be quick, others slow. As for the call centre reps, you can tell who likes their job and who doesn't.
-
I have been. They put me on supervisor review on Sep 25th. The last supervisor told me that there was a system problem with the electronic processing cases. I don't believe her though. I actually did just get off the phone with one of the reps. She claims she opened up my DS260 and took a look at it, and that everything looks fine. She said she will pass it on to a supervisor to look at tonight. I got a similar response from another rep a few weeks back, which was bogus.
I also contacted my congressman just short of two weeks ago.
I'll give them a break tonight, and then give them some more calls tomorrow.
Do you have the 3 N/A's yet on the CEAC portal?
I saw yesterday that I had 3 N/A's and when I called in they told me that I "technically" have a case complete but that they are still generating my electronic file (I believe this is them scanning the USCIS hardcopy file into an electronic format). I asked about a timeline and they told me their is none. So I am wondering if maybe you are in the same place as me?

TN visa, or any visa, converting to green card is tricky.
I really hope your TN visa has enough time left to completely process your green card.
If you do, good. If not, you will be in limbo, and probably have to wait in Canada once your TN status expires, possibly losing job. Since you are married, you have already established an intention to make US your permanent home, rather than temporary, which was always meant to be your intention with TN visa.
In any case, you should start the process of filing I-130. Do it using premium processing. I recommend consular processing over adjustment of status. And DO NOT visit Canada or go out of United States until your consular processing appointment.
It is not about border guard anymore. It is about history of your entry. Every time you enter US using your TN status, you reassert your temporary intention. That history can be troubling getting you green card.
Disclaimer: I am not immigration attorney. Ask professional for particular advice on your case.
There is no premium processing for family based visa's. That is just for employment based ones. So you are looking at 10-12 months or more from submitting your I-130.

Hello all,
My wife the USC has to move in less then a month (long story, the house belong to her and her ex and we were paying for it and he was okay with that until I got there (as it was costing him nothing) but has now changed his mind and she had to get the house ready for sale in the last month and it has sold.
So her address will be changing in the next month. We are at the NVC stage right now and are just waiting on a case complete (we technically have one I am told but they are preparing our electronic file, god knows how long that takes). So at this point we are not sure what to do. She will be moving in with family until I get there and we will then rent somewhere or buy a home depending on the situation. What should we do at this point? Our address has not changed yet. Do I need to submit anything? Should we tell them when we go to the interview? Does she need to fill out a new I-864 and I bring that to the interview?
We are sorta hesitant to send anything to NVC in fear that it will slow us down even more and we are not sure how that affects the I-864, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I saw 3 N/As yesterday but when I called NVC they told me I basically have a case complete but since we sent our documents by email, seems they need time to create our electronic file (scanning or documents from USCIS I believe). So we are stuck with more waiting.

Well the date on the email is today. And everywhere I have read on here people say it takes a week to send it. And well I was told on Friday it was complete so it was obviously before today.
I don't see an update date in CEAC?
