  1. Well i have been waiting patiently for 73 days and Nothing. A couple of touches back in Feb. but since then nothing . Our reciept date for the I 129f is Feb.9/06. I thought this was to be away to reunite in a matter of weeks and not months and months. I am very sad , and getting ready to head back to Canada after a wonderful Easter with my husband. I see approvals going faster from people for different countries. You would think a Canadian wouldn't be a problem....

They've definitely started working again. My NOA1 date was 2/7/06 and i just received an email notification that it was approved on 4/13/06 this afternoon. So hopefully you'll be getting yours within the next couple of days. We'll be praying for you....

  2. I am filled with so much joy, I just checked my email and there it was an approval notificiation for my I-129F. I'm so excited and happy that one phase is ending and now we can move on to the wait for the next phase. I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for your continued support. And wish all of us the best of luck through the rest of the visa process!!!!!!:dance::dance:

According to the email it was approved on April 13th, but I received the email today. My NOA 1 date was 2/7.

  3. They'll send you an RFE once they get to your petition and ask you to send in ALL pages of your passport at that time.

However, and I'm not sure if this would work, you could of course mail the missing information to CSC after receiving your NOA1. Then, you would have your case number and you could ask them to add the information to your file.

So don't worry; your error will make things slightly more complicated but you will be ok.

I agree with fischkoepfin. You may also send them the photocopy of your birth certificate along with all pages of yoru passport. Write a cover letter explaining why you are sending all and include the photocopy of NOA-1.

You will NOT need to send both a your passport and your birth certificate as evidence of citizenship. They will accept either one. But you're right they will need all pages of your passport if that what you choose to provide them.

  4. i am planning to go visit in a couple of months. i do dread the heart wrenching moments we have to go through at the airport when its time to leave :crying: . Occasionally, i might get a nice NVC operator that will tell me how long it really is taking to get an interview. It just doesn't make sense. Our last VJ member that went through case was completed i think in Aug 18th and their interview was set in dec for Jan. Now, four months later they still have september folks who haven't been scheduled.

I'm sorry your having a hard time with the Lagos embassy. I'm sure I'll be in your position very soon. Have you tried emailing the embassy?

  5. Hey everyone. I just thought I'd share a little bit of good news!!! I just got my NOA2 (I-797) in the mail for my hubby who's in Ethiopia. Things have been going very smoothly so far and I'm pleased with that.

I'm embarrased to admit this but i haven't prepared my packet of information to send to him but I'll be moving at lightening speed to get it done. (I work well under pressure).

Anyway, thanks to everyone at visajourney for their good advice and information on how to do this process the right way. When I submitted my K-3 application I felt very confident I'd assembled it properly. My NOA2 was finished in less than 60 days. And now I have to follow through on the final leg of this process to bring my husband to the states.

I just realized I hadn't updated my public timeline via the signature.

Congratulations!!!!!!! ; I'm still patiently waiting...hopefully soon.

  6. I got married last year but my husband is not in the U.S. yet. We are still in the visa process. I've read through some old threads here and I know about ITN number and the W-7 form. Here's my question: is it neccessary for my husband to get an ITN number if my status is "married filing separately"? I don't care about getting the best tax break. I don't want to deal with world income and include his income with mine. His income is so small, it's not worth it. I just want to file my taxes correctly with the least headache. Is anyone in a similar situation? Can you share your story so that I can determine what I should do? Thanks so much.

    Elena

    Hi Elena,

The form W-7 is not required if you are filing married filing separate. It only applies if you wish to file as married filing jointly. In my case, I initially was going to file a joint return with my husband, however, the IRS wanted his original passport. Given that we are applying for the K-3, the K-3 is more of a priority for both of us (don't want to hear that his passport inadvertenly got lost  ), hence, I've changed it to married filing separate. Hopefully this helps you out. The IRS is also available to answer spefic questions you may have at 800-829-1040.

  7. I couldn't add ours for a few days, then it suddenly appeared. (Maybe on the 16th -see signature- ?)

Thanks, but I'm specifically asking of NOA1s dtd 01/31/2006 - there is definately a problem with that date.

Oops, sorry! I'm a bit hazy today and didn't read your post carefully. dunce.gif

    (Good luck!)

We *exist* and are approved. Good luck to everyone else who doesn't exist.

Congratulations "married my love" on your approval....at least we know they are working...finally.

  8. Join the club for there is no one who has received their NOA2 with that date believe me when I tell you that I have called those people twice a week for the past 5 weeks and I too have encountered a few rude ones And when you do get a nice one it seems as though the answers are always different

I've called them as well just to make sure they didn't forget to update the date :( , but was told the dates were accurate. I guess they feel like they've been working too hard and needed a break. I'm still patiently waiting...although I feel like I"m running out of patience at this point....

  9. If he is not there when you send off the petition, you don't have to fill out that he was just there.

Only if they ask for previous vivit (can't recall exactly but think they don't), you'd have to answer that one.

question 12 of the I-129F and question 14 of the I-130 asks 'If your fiance is currently in the US complete the following'. This is where it wouldnt have to be answered if he has left the US before the form is signed and submitted.

The OP was asking about G-325A where it is asking to list all previous US visits which would apply.

Thank you both for your responses,

    I have another question :help:

when filling out my G-325A-where it asks Citizenship/Nationality-do I put USC/Jamaican or do I just put USC???I am a little confused about this part. I really need to know seeing this is my third time tryingto type it up can't afford another mistake.

Please help, thanks in advance (L)

I would put US citizen - since you are a US citizen. Also if you plan on taking the K-3 route, don't forget to have your husband sign two copies of the G325A ie. a total of 8 pages since each one is 4 pages. this is something I forgot to do and it cost me about 2 weeks of time sending it back and forth. :crying:
