How many minutes did you wait to talk to the nvc representative? Cause my bf is still trying to call them for an hour but still there was no answring.

35 mins for me... still didnt help they said they just received it today and dont have the case number and o call abck like in 30-40 days (smh)

Thats so strange cuz i called today and they told me they will EMAIL me the results. And said they recieved my packet today and dont have a case number on it right now it can take up to 42 days ....

Please keep posting your status, cuz we r in the same situation as you. My fiancée is on a student visa and our case is STUCK at NVC since 1/20. We are still waiting for our status to change to "in transit". Due to the bad weather the past week and maybe this week too, our case will be STUCK at NVC for a while.

From what I gather I am GUESSING you'll get a RFE notice asking for a copy of PR card and/or letter. I was advised to EMAIL them the proof of PR and request that further communication be done via email and that they email you pack you packet 3 and 4. I think MTL email address is the same email address of the packet 3 link andymack provided earlier.

calling them to find out about ur RFE won't help because they cannot tell you what is needed thst information is not provided on their system when you call uscis they will onky tell you that RFE will tell you what info we need from you next to move forward with your case... i got my text email notification on the 3rd of January and my RFE came in the mail two days later 5th... hope you get yours soon let us know what your RFE says.. mines was intent to marry letter from my fiancé and I ...

Finally some word from USCIS today on our petition - unfortunately it's an RFE! Is it possible to call and find out what they need or will I need to wait for the letter? And anyone know how long that normally takes to arrive?

I received text and email alert that my RFE was received today, YAAAY! but then I realized I forgot to sign my intent to marry letter when I mailed it out!!! :ranting: :cry: OMGOSH!! Im so upset at myself for this tiny mistake that can add anotther week or so... !!!

Congratulations to everyone !!! I haven't been able to go on here as much but i just seen a lot progress on here with everyone receiving notices and NVC case numbers!! Very excited and happy to see this :)

Just received the letter of rfe yesterday. They ask me to give a visa type of picture but it does not indicates how many visa picture they needed? Anyone know how many should I pass??

I think send at least 3. I sent them 2 because that's all I had..

My update: fiance mailed out the RFE intent to marry letter tuesday, they said it should take 2-4 days for it to arrive to california. So now i am waiting for the letter in the mail.. cant wait soooo excited!!!

Hey guys! First let me say I know I may not say much ,but I constantly check in to see what's going on.... And I truly love and appreciate the support system within this group. My name is Kiera I left the U.S Aug9 to go and teach in Ethiopia...after having something traumatic happen my year before I left I need a change in scenery and wanted to stay productive if I wasn't going straight to Grad School...anyway I met my fiancé Abdu while I was teaching I was a 1st grade English Teacher and he was an IT teacher and administrator... In so little words The one year I spent in Ethiopia allowed me to do some self-healing,inspire others and most of all meet the man I always prayed to God for...the one man who opened my heart to love and taught me how to love again . Fast forward ..Abdu proposed to me on my birthday.....he said I was born for him...God created me just for him and led us to each other...from that day we decided to do the k-1 I returned to the states to teach and I filed our petition in Nov.we have our NOA1 just waiting now.however just w One thing I hate about waiting for approval is that it makes you think and second guess..."was there enough evidence in my packet?, did I triple check it ...lol etc. I say all this to say my waiting time is making me worry about do we have enough proof ...we sent pictures(we took a lot of engagement pictures...and a few others ...crazy but when we were together it never occurred to us to take a bunch of pics we just enjoyed our time), pictures of cards he had given me and flowers he sent me(all gifts while dating)viber chat logs,emails,phone cards,witness letter from friends and parents...a long statement in depth about how we met and why we want to be married. I also sent my proof of contract working there,my work permit etc and All necessary k-1formsforms.currently we only use viber ,and phone cards to communicate.However,being that as a teacher I have very few days off if we get approved do you guys thinkit would hurt our case that I didn't visit again...if I could I would but I need my job you know....though I'm wondering what other thing could I collect or do that we help make our process a smooth one.sorry for the long message...had a lot on the brain.

Thank you for sharing your story with us. Its so cute that he proposed to you on your birthday I wouldn't worry or stress about anything, If you are missing anything they need they will let you know you will receive a RFE in the mail shortly after. So just focus on yourself and keep yourself busy till then. I know exactly how are you feeling cause my fiance and I were feeling the same way with this wait and not receiving any updates, but we finally got an update, even though i wish it was a approval letter it was a RFE but thats okay atleast we know now that they are working on the cases. I think because of the holidays there was so much delay but it should be fine now and I hope you receive something soon. I have a feeling you will be getting something real soon all the best and keep us posted with your updates would love to know how your process starts going... All the best!!!

You should have sent this with your petition about how you guys met and all... Cover letter as in intent to marry? then read below v v

Oh okay, I just received that noticed few days ago so we are working on ours... If you haven't already done so then start the intent to marry letters, for me we both have to write one and he has to write one in his language and then translated to english word for word. So save time you should start on it now so that way if you do get the noticed you can mail uscis the letters and the envelope the you received ur fiance's letter in keep that as well to you can show proof that he wrote it and mailed it to you or else if dont they might think you wrote both letters and mailed it to them since you responded right away to their RFE letter.

Hi! im a newbie here! And I have lots of question running out. My fiance filed the I-129 in the Csc last november 20, 2014 and he got a receipt Letter from the USCIS last dec 4, 2014. Just wondering if he should make the Cover letter even if without any letter yet after the ReCeipt letter. Or do we need to wait FIRST for the Noa1 to arrive. Your help would be very highly appreciate guys. Thanks!

To my understanding and experience so far, Your receipt letter is your NOA1, after this you might get a RFE (request for evidence) letter where they will ask you for more info that they need to continue your case. If not then you should get a NOA2 and usually that would be a Approval of your petition case. However, I am not sure what you mean by cover letter?

Yes!! I agree with you both!! Its so strange!! I already did my intent to marry when I filled out 129 form but I guess they want me to do this again. I also called USCIS this morning just to verify and they said it doesn't have to be an "official" translator just someone that speaks and reads english and the foreign language that is able to translate word for word that intent to marry is correct and accurate in both languages. So he will mail it out to me monday... inchaallah. I am planning to make a trip on there end of February - Cristin can you inbox me the things are you taking with you or forms and things you will be doing there for this process?

Hey all!! I got my RFE today!! It says we both have to submit our "intent to marry" in his foreign language. Then have be translated in english and have translator certify it. I'm a little confused. I don't think it has to be typed up only in english thought.

Don't worry about it... it won't help you until you see the actual reason. Maybe you forgot something simple Thanks for the kind words... not thinking we are getting a transfer, but at least I will be back in Morocco in a month! If you're thinking of visiting... fares are very cheap right now for whatever reason.

I'm actually thinking about going on the 26th of this month yes i noticed also the fares were cheap. But if not then I'm going to aim for feb also. Its just difficult with my job because I am a contractor and i already had about little over two weeks off last few months ago so its difficult for me to take time off I reeeeally want to go visit him and his family this month or early feb. Im so excited to hear that you will be visiting morocco soon! thats sooooo exciting! :)

Although it's not an NOA2, at least you have notification that you have an RFE. Please let us know what the request is once you've receive the notification in the mail. good luck

Have you tried looking at the case file numbers that are a digit before and after yours on the USCIS website? It might show that they're also not approved ye

Let's just hope that the "Gov. workers" ( Ha, maybe that's an oxymoron) get back on task after the holidays now. Like you, we do hope to see the process speed up and receive our NOA-2 soon. What is also frustrating for us is that we had sent the original package back in August and it got ripped up in the mail and we had to start all over again... So many who have applied in August are now here in the US and married already... Our best wishes for you two... too!

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that! That is frustrating! Just be positive and think positive only. I've been trying to be positive as well and not worry about it so much anymore... My best friend keeps telling me maybe its for the better thats its taking this long.... But who knows, yes i agree I hope things speed up now that the holidays are over. And I also noticed petitions that were filed during the summer already have came to the US and married. I wish he was here already, this whole process and waiting its very hard to be apart for this long.
