  1. Got approved yesterday!!

    WAC17291xxx (filed July 19th, I believe).

Had not filed for n400, the last status update before the approval was the vague "case received at local office" in February.

Biometrics had been waved previously and interview was not requested either.

So happy that it's finally official :) wishing everyone who is still waiting the very best and a speedy approval!

Been a really busy week at work - I come back and **BAM** approvals falling all around!

    CONGRATS ALL RECENT APPROVALS <3

and HANG IN THERE, my friends!!!   I was mentally prepared to be the last or second last July filer to be approved so this caught me by surprise! We will be cheering with you sooner rather than later <3 <3 <3

Any July Filers here not applying for N-400 anytime soon??   We're not..... we have some time to decide (want to make the decision to allow time for it to happen before kids age out) but I think we'll take some time away from the grind before going down that road... LOL

We're not applying either. I'm a German citizen and don't want to lose my German citizenship so I need to file for retention of German citizenship before I apply for us citizenship.

  3. hey, does anyone know about the visa status once you submit your AOS and get the notification of acceptance? I assume it's ok to stay in the country while your AOS is being processed, even if your 90 days are up... we took a while to get the marriage cert arranged cos we were so happy to be together finally and were seeing friends and family. we'll be officially getting married on monday and then submit the AOS asap, which will leave us about 5-6 weeks before the 90 days is up.

  4. CONGRATS!!!!!!

We're still awaiting the interview but we think it'll happen very soon.

I'm a USC and when I come home (LAX) it usually takes me an hour to get through customs... Again.. I'm a USC.

A quick tip... if you can... sit as close to the FRONT of the airplane as you can. That means you'll get OFF sooner and into the customs line faster. I sat closer to the front of my last flight here (last month) and was out of customs in about 15 mins. NEVER has that happened to me before.

Also, I took my children on a trip and our layover was in Paris... and we ate lunch. Both kids got apples and took them on the plane with them. I didn't realize I still had them in my carry-on and they stopped us too. The dogs caught the scent and we were in customs about 1 hour LONGER than usual (so almost 2 hours). Grrrrrrrrrr...

ty for your reply and your tip! coming home to perth is about the same -.- they're so paranoid about fruit here, I always double check before I get on the plane to come back here. I'll try to book a front seat, makes sense :) I've noticed it helps getting into the line as early as possible, but never thought to book a seat near the exit for that reason haha.

I wonder if the immigration part will take longer b/c of the K1 visa or not ….

I hope you get you interview soon!

  5. Visa got approved on Tuesday and issued Wednesday!

Just want to give a word of support to any of you who are still waiting for yourinterviews and approvals - you WILL make it!!!! Just hang in there and keep going, it's so stressful,I know!

I also have a question for the ones already in the u.s.- how long does it take to go through immigration?

I have a long long trip ahead of me and I'm thinking of doing a stopover at my airport of entry, so I can recover and not stress about the time it may take to go through immigration. I will probably coming through lax, so I'm expecting it to be very busy and time consuming.

And I have a statement too: howridiculously high is the aos fee?! Jeesh...

  6. Thanks everyone!

    I was asked:

How did you come to be engaged to an american citizen?

Have you ever over stayed in the US?

When did you last see each other?

What does he do for a living?

What do you do for a living?

Bish, bash, bosh = APPROVED! :D

Congrats on your approval! I had my interview (in Sydney) scheduled for me on the 31st of March. I hope I can take that one, as I still have to organize flights there (I live on the other side of the continent).

Thanks for sharing the questions they asked you, I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who has had their interview too. If that's all it is, it seems slightly ridiculous having to fly for 4.5 hours for a 5 minute chat, but oh well...

  7. Great, ty. Still haven't gotten through -.- but good news nonetheless: as I was drifting to sleep last night I thought maybe notifications from nvc have gone to junk mail and when my fiancé checked, there was indeed a notification saying that our file was received by the Sydney consulate! No case number, but at least we know it's already moved around the globe :)

Finally got through and got all the reference numbers we could possibly need :) My fiance also found a notification email in the junk folder, telling him that the sydney embassy had received our file (two weeks ago *sigh*). Have emailed them with the required info and followed the instructions in the email. On we go! :D

  8. Yes, when you call make sure to ask for the Case Number, Invoice Number, and Beneficiary ID number as you'll need those for the DS-160 and visa payment.

Once you get your case number, you'll be able to track where your case is on CEAC. Hope that helps! Good luck!

  9. NVC letters are rare-like unicorn in a rainbow meadow rare-you need to keep calling the NVC until you get through. Considering it's been about a month and a half-your case is more than likely collecting dust in Australia. Keep trying, I know it's painstakingly boring hanging on hold for 30-45 minutes, but you need these numbers so you can move forward with the next steps.

    haha!

so, I need that case number for things to move forward here? I assumed the embassy would just send me a letter/parcel that I can work with.

I don't care about being on hold, I just wanna know what's happening

    Thank you for your replies

  10. You've been waiting for almost a year?! Wow, you need to call the NVC and make sure they have your case still. Because you are probably way out of your petition's expiration, you might have to start the process over.

EDIT: Nevermind, I've just looked at your timeline-call the NVC. They've more than likely forwarded your case to the embassy already. When you call them, make sure you are persistent in making it through to the main switchboard. If the voice message says anything about due to high volumes, hang up and call again.

After making it through and you're talking with someone, provide your USCIS receipt number, beneficiary name and date of birth, and petitioner's name.

, I mis-typed! I meant 31.12.14 :P but yeah, no notifications of receipt of our case and neither of us can get through to nvc

  11. Hi guys, new to this thread. Been skimming over the last few pages.

Does anyone have huge issues contacting the NVC? My fiance has been trying to call them from the U.S. (I'm the beneficiary) and it's constantly engaged due to high call volume :/

Our NOA2 date is 31.02.14 and we haven't heard anything at all - no notification about the NVC receiving it, no case number. Seems liike it's taking longer than everyone else's
