  1. I personally can't hate on DACA! Lots of them were just brought here as kids and it was not a choice for them, they know nothing but this country, it's their home. It's not their fault their families made this decision.

Not that I approve some law where parents can just send their kids here from now, but the ones who have been here for long time deserve it.

I can't blame them, if prostitution, crime and no future was all expected I would also do anything it takes to offer my family a better life!

There is no intention to have anyone act with discrimination in this regard. The immigration issue, specifically in relation to Mexican immigrants is a difficult one that needs to be addressed. Contrary to your statement, many of the children are US Citizens (as they were born in the US) however, their parents are the illegals. While there are other issues involved this certainly outlines the complexity of the issue.

Having a president acting on his own in total disregard to other factors within the immigration issue/process will surely result in the creation of undesired effects. Taxing an already overburdened system which is close to a standstill in processing visas for folks and or their loved one in this forum will be more than likely one of the first casualties.

In October of this year Obama approved a plan to allow as many as 100,000 Haitians to immigrate to the U.S. without a visa. Nothing against Haitians, it is about a total disregard for others going through the system that have spent time pain and money to get their loved ones to be with them in the US legally.

“U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the branch of the Department of Homeland Security that handles immigration benefits cases, announced Friday the program to unite Haitians already living in the U.S. with family members abroad will ramp up in 2015.”

“At that time the State Department’s National Visa Center will begin notifying families who may be eligible to take part in the program. Those immigrants will be allowed to apply for work permits while waiting for issuance of their permanent visas”.

“The agency said the program will expedite “safe, legal and orderly migration.”

It’s no wonder why it is currently taking the NVC 60 days to even look at a document. They would like you to believe the 60 days is compared to their previous 30 days to process a visa when in reality it is taking over 5 months from NAO2 to interview!!!

  2. Congrats on your NAO2!!! There appears to be timing issues currently all along the way at the NVC. 1st they have to receive the NA02 from USCIS (and then actually find it) to issue a case and invoice number which can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. Then there are several steps in between that take time such as invoicing and their recognition of fee payments and form submissions, each of which take time to occur. Once all that is done and they receive your document package the 60 day clock supposedly begins. If there is an RFE involved it will take longer, apparently even possibly another 60 days after they receive the RFE response. While there are always exceptions it appears many folks are waiting upwards of 5 months (without RFE's) for their interview from the time of receiving the NAO2. This is much different than in many cases prior to about July where it would quite often take about 45 days to get through the NVC. Hopefully things will improve before they get worse. The best thing to do is just know you are better than half way through the process, pay the fees as soon as the billing is available, and get all your docs together to fill out the forms and send in when they allow you to.

  3. As with Obama Care this is being done outside the whelm of government our forefathers intended and how the US government is supposed to work. The immigration issue needs to be fixed as in the case of healthcare, however, the malicious manner in which they are being done in the whelm of Obama self serving politics should be considered criminal. Just as the infrastructure was ill prepared to handle Obama Care, you can bet this will cause significantly more pain to those waiting for Visas in this community. It currently takes the NVC 2 months to just look at a document in the processing of a US Citizen's family member who has gone through the legal channels, paid the required fees, and all ready been approved by USCIS. In fact it is currently taking 5 months or more in most cases from USCIS approval (NAO2) to NVC approval. Add the additional workload of processing millions of illegal immigrants without the including necessary elements for execution, as in the case of Obama's intended next move, and it could very likely extend the total time of NVC processing to over a year!

  4. My guess is they have been losing the originals!

    UNCLASSIFIED 14 STATE 130716
Subject: National Visa Center No Longer Collecting Original Civil Documents
    1. Summary. The National Visa Center (NVC) will cease collecting original civil documents in
support of immigrant visa (IV) applications as of November 12, 2014. Most applicants will be
required to submit photocopies of supporting documents (such as birth, marriage, and police
certificates) and will be instructed to take their original documents to their interviews for review.
This does not include Affidavit of Support forms, which petitioners will still submit to NVC for
    initial evaluation. End Summary.
    New Instructions to Applicants
    2. After applicants and petitioners collect the Affidavit of Support form(s), financial evidence,
and supporting civil documents, they are instructed to submit all of the documents to NVC. As of
November 12, 2014, applicants at non-electronic processing posts will be instructed to submit
photocopies of their civil documents by mail. NVC will review the copies and, when the case is
documentarily complete, will place the copies into the file, which will be sent to post, increasing
the number of cases that are documentarily qualified. When the appointment is scheduled, NVC
will instruct applicants to bring their original documents to the interview for evaluation and final
case processing. Original Affidavit of Support forms will still be submitted to NVC for initial
evaluation. Applicants at designated electronic processing posts will continue to submit their
    documents via email.
    3. NVC anticipates this change will maintain the integrity of the IV process, reduce customer
wait times, and improve the customer experience overall.
