So, since some approvals had been coming thru, I started checking the USCIS site daily, but no changes, even as of this afternoon.
However.... today in the mail my husband's 10 year card came!
So if you're monitoring the site, there may be something wrong with how they're updating it. Fingers crossed yours comes quick!

Hi everyone,
I received my 18months extension letter today, it was dated 08/11/2018. It was sent from CSC, that means there was no transfer of my case file.
Am I the only one from CSC with this 18 months extension letter?
Nope. We got ours Friday night. Dated 8/11/18. CSC filers also.

Heya all... just checking in.
We're CSC and nothing, I mean NOTHING has happened with our case since we went for Biometrics on December 28. I see several of you got a notice that your case was transferred to a local office. That never happened to us. Should I be concerned? :/

Hi everyone!
Filed our ROC and got our receipt notice, dated 12/04. Filing with CSC though, so sounds like its time to get comfy with waiting again.
Incidentally, I tried to log in to the USCIS site and add our case number for updates, but it keeps telling me my number is invalid. Anyone else have that issue?

Yesterday we received the welcome notice by mail and got the email notice that the card was mailed!
Best of luck to everyone now, and in a couple years for ROC! -
My husband had a relatively easy time finding a job. Took about two months. Only had one employer that didn't seem to know what the EAD was, and didn't want to hire him.
He complains about the traffic and the drivers.
He's still getting used to the weather being warm in December, but likes not having to shovel snow. His co-workers have been very receptive to him, and there's plenty to do, which makes it easy, imo, to meet people.

When he had the Visa, and we knew when he was coming, I reserved an indoor pavilion at a local botanical gardens. My sister had actually gotten herself ordained on the internet, so she could perform our ceremony. I purchased a cocktail dress on eBay a couple months before, and employed my friends around town who do hair, cakes, and flowers. My sisters and other friends were more than happy to help me day of with set up and picking up flowers and such.
He arrived on Friday, and the week before we bought him a suit (without the jacket) off the rack at a department store, and purchased the products we needed, like plates and such, and we picked up our license. One of my sisters works at Olive Garden and was able to get us a discount on food, so we had some light snacks. Ceremony went down in a shady spot in the park, everyone had fun!
Was simple, wonderful, and went down two weeks after he arrived.Best wishes to you guys!

Just got an email this morning! Card in production! No interview!

I live in Tampa too, and a co-worker of mine is active with this organization. http://www.pcfitampa.org/paat/
They seem to have events and such all the time.
Best wishes.

Yeah, the USCIS site says that my field office was on April 4th as of September 30th! His medical expires in March, so if we could get it before then, I'll be happy. He's gainfully employed now, so I don't complain. Just meditate.

Hi all,
I filed my AOS July 1st and I have not heard anything about interview being waived or scheduled yet . Most of people who filed with me got either their interview or their interview was waived. What should I do
We're early July filers too and have heard nothing since we returned our RFE in August. But my local office seems to be running slow. Dunno if there's much of anything we can do besides wait. :/

Congrats everyone who's been approved!

Again, nothing to freak out about. They do respond. Like Catherine said, there's a strong possibility you won't have the CBP officer. That was one incident on these forums, and there are many Canadians who pass through with no issues.
I'm a huge worrier and control freak too. But with this process there are many things we have to let go of. There's always a chance something bad could happen, but there's as much of a chance that everything will go swimmingly. Panicking solves nothing, but if something does go wrong, you deal with it head on.
So take a couple deep breaths, smile, and know that nothing will happen that can't be fixed. -
Nothing to panic about. They do respond, typically between 10am-Noon, EST. Whatever happens, you've been approved, so they'll do what they can to help you.

You can't call the Montreal consulate. You can only email them. They can be slow to respond (took them 3 business days to respond to us once *Iwantedtoscream*) so I would recommend emailing them as soon as possible. You'll pick up your passport from Loomis, not from the Consulate, so Loomis won't be able to help much.
Best wishes.

Congrats everyone!

We received an RFE in July, and it was received by USCIS on August 3rd. Since then, the status hasn't changed on the USCIS case status site.
My husband received his EAD in early September. With other timelines I've seen, it seems to be the norm when an RFE was received, until you're ready for an interview.
Best wishes to you.

Congrats to the recent approvals! We're still waiting to hear about an interview! :/
Hubby got a job offer today though!

Congrats everyone for recent approvals!
We're past the 8 week mark from our RFE too, but Tampa seems to be slower than everyone, lol.

Great .. Request for initial evidence . Is that the same as an RFE ? Cus I know last time I called I was told there is request for evidence and request for initial evidence but I don't remember the difference
I'm so drained . This is the 3rd RFE. My only hope is that at least they aren't denying it
I am so, so sorry. I hope its something different.
Why you continue to get these RFE? Is it the same affidavit of support? You need to get it right this time. I hope I can assist you because it must be real hard on you getting all those RFE. I don't think there is much of a difference between the two. However i think the Request for initial evidence is simply asking for SPECIFIC DOCUMENTS IN THE INSTRUCTION FROM USCIS. I maybe wrong but please follow the instructions....
She doesn't know what the RFE is yet. I'm sure she's doing her best to follow all instructions to the best of her abilities, and has been getting help from everyone on the forum.

Don't perpetuate what? Local slang? Sorry, myself and almost everyone I've ever known has said it that way. Perhaps my wording will change if I move, but for now, it doesn't bother anything or anyone.
Anyway, this thread isn't about slang or local colloquialisms, so I'm moving on and going back to work. Have an awesome day everyone.

Omg, I forgot about the free refill thing! Hubby loves that!
No, no, no, it is soda, or "coke" here! We use coke as a term for all sodas around here. As in.. "What kind of coke would you like?" "Oh, I'll take a Dr. Pepper."
And hello there fellow Tampa people!

I had never been to Aldi before he got here, but I dig it. I'd be a bad Floridian though, if I abandoned Publix completely. Which is another thing I've gotten him hooked on. He enjoys the subs, cakes, and free Wifi at our local Publix stores.
He's gotten really into some of the Tampa foods. He'd eat Cuban sandwiches and deviled crabs everyday.Gas prices in my area are usually lower than the national average. So for him, coming down, it was much cheaper than Canada.
-
My German hubs spent 5 years in Canada, and he was thrilled to see an Aldi grocery store. And even happier that they carry some German brands of food.
The lower gas prices made him a bit giddy too.

Nope. We had no idea we were approved until it came in the mail today.
