Thanks, so USCIS received my application around mid August, I got a receipt in 10 days (standard receipt notice) and another in a week stating that they would be reusing my biometrics from asylum so I don't need to attend one. After that nothing for 3 1/2 months, and in mid December my status changed to Interview Scheduled for January, hope that helps.

6 months! That’s fair. Good luck for you guys.

Hey guys! I had my Oath Ceremony at the Long Island, NY Field Office on July 23. The entire ceremony lasted 15 minutes. It was very meaningful for me, and I am glad that this is DONE! I filed for my passport the next day, so I hope this is the last waiting game.
I want to thank every one of you for your encouragement and words of wisdom through these past five years. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without Visa Journey’s fabulous people.

    Congrats 🎊 🍾

60 dollars only . Total I paid 215 dollars which include jumbo passport book ( which is same price as regular size) + passport card + expedite fees. It's worth to get expedite not only to travel but we are immigrants and our family lives abroad..in case of emergency if you don't have passport you can't leave the country.

Indeed, it’s worth it. I need to travel ASAP too. I’ll do the same when  I apply for a passport. Regular processing are up to 18 weeks.

My ceremony was on August 7th and I applied for passport on 9th and got it in hand on 10th.

Well best way to get passport quick is to get refundable ticket , for example I had my passport appointment of August 9th and I booked tickets for August 11th. After receiving passport I canceled the tickets. Actually my trip will be soon.

To get the oath expedite, I called uscis and selected the option that if I don't get oath on time I can't go to my business trip and because of that my company will have financial loss. Next day I sent the paper from my employer saying same thing on the letter and next morning the oath ceremony was scheduled. I received letter in 3 days. I sent documents by priority mail.

In my case I had to expedite it because of my business trip.

Thank you. Did you have to pay the expedited fee for your passport ?

I received my passport yesterday. Thanks to everyone. I got lots of guidance to expedite the passport from Timona.

For your info you can expedite your oath as well as passport. That's reason I got my process done within 15 days of interview. Thanks to everyone and best wishes to my friends whose interview is still pending.

    Congrats!

Had my oath ceremony yesterday. It was 500-600 people in the room. No family or friends allowed. Took a long time for everyone to check in and get their papers. The ceremony itself was about 2 minutes. Said the oath and got our certificates, and that was it. Feels good to have it over with. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

    Congrats!!

Please fill out/ update timeline if you didn’t already do it. Thanks and good luck!

Finally i got the interview letter N400 - Virginia based (Fairfax)

    Applied: August 5th 2020

    Bio: July 22nd 2021

    Interview: August 21st 2021

Does anyone know if USCIS Virginia office have same day oath ceremony ?

Congrats!!! That was quick btw your Bio and interview date.

what was the competition estimate saying right after you’ve done your bio?

I did my bio around July 10th and my completion estimate is 13 months!!!

  8. The Magic word worked for me too. There was no delay... as soon as I said the phrase I got connected to a human costumer service.

After verifying my identity and checked that Its been more than 90 days since my local office has reopened and still no Biometrics appointment,  they put in a request for my local office to reply in 30 days and gave me the tracking #. When they finished, I asked to speak to a Tier 2 agent, the costumer service explained that they will have to delete the request and put another one for me to be contacted by a Tier 2 agent within 7 days !! Because USCIS changed the process which allowed costumers to be connected to a Tier 2 agent on the spot by simply requesting.  Also, she said that the Tier 2 agent will basically do the same thing which is entering a request to my local office.

I guess i messed up...we'll see what happens.

  9. Hello everyone,

My mum has been in the US since December 2019 on a tourist visa. She was supposed return home on June 2020 right before her visa expiration, but due to Covid-19 and her airline company cancelling the ticket, she's been stuck here.  I have filled a I-539 back in June but until today we haven't got the biometrics appointment or any other updates from USCIS.

If my mum travels back home before the I-539 has been processed, does that mean she overstayed her visa? Will this create a problem next time she tries to en ter the US?

    Thank you!
