  1. Not sure exactly where to post this...

When we first got my husbands greencard, there was an error (not ours!).  His card had an expiration date of 2 years, not the 10 it should of had.  We send his card and I-90 in April 2016.....over a year later...and FINALLY we just got an update that our I-90 was approved!!!!!!!! :)

My question...how long are they taking to mail out greencards?

  2. I just called Friday and no news :(  They said they would put in a service request and to wait 30 days.  I tried to get an infopass appointment, but it says there aren't any available.  I called someone from my town who is a state representative and he told me to call a local congressman...I called and he wasn't available, so I left a message...and nothing.  This waiting game is not for the faint of heart. :(

  3. When we received my husbands original greencard in the mail the expiration date was wrong.  We had started the whole process as CR1, but he entered after our 2nd wedding anniversay, so his greengard should have been an IR1 when we got it.

Anyway...we sent it back to be corrected in April, he had his biometrics in May...and we still haven't heard anything...

How much longer can we expect to wait?  Anyone else in the same boat?

I sent in an e-request in January, on January 17 they said I should hear within 45 days....is that business days or calendar days?

Just when you think it's over, they stick you one more time!

  4. The visa in his passport says cr1...there seem to always be complications when it comes to this lovely visa journey. I haven't called because frankly with two small kids running around I don't have time to sit on hold forever. A friend in a similar situation called the other day for answers and was on the phone for 3 hours and still didn't get an answer!

I guess I'll just sit around and wait...what's a few more months :(

  5. When we received my husbands greencard there was an expiration date error on it...it had an expiration date of 2 years, when it should have been 10 years....we had been married longer than 2 years before entering the country. Long story short, I sent in the paperwork and he had to do biometrics on May 5. How long does it usually take for a new green card to come? The USCIS website it pretty much useless as it never has an up to date processing time...

Has anyone dealt with this recently for a more accurate time frame?

  6. We just got my husbands green card in the mail! (For those of you waiting for your green card...it took 7 weeks to get it from the time of payment...and I was never able to check the status online...so don't panic! ) :) At POE they asked when we got married, its been over 2 years...but since we started the process before the 2 years all the paper work was for CR1. Of course when I opened his green card today it says only valid for 2 years, even though it should be IR1 since we were married for at least 2 years before POE. :( Can I do anything to fix it?

  7. It is asking me for a receipt number. Which number should i enter???

I tried with the number assigned from NVC and it gives me the following error:

    You have the following errors:

Error: The application receipt number entered is invalid. Please check your receipt number and try again.
    Thanks for the help.

I get the same error message........ :( I just want to know when we'll get my husbands greencard...

  8. Yes the message on CEAC is generic and says that for everyone If your embassy has you register than that's how you will get your Visa. Congratulations. Way to move fast and be on top of things. woooo whoooo.

Thanks Dwheels....this site has been a huge help all through the journey and made it a little easier with advice and encouragement from others going through the same thing! We're looking forward to being in the States at the end od the month!!!

  9. Update on our case...

We had our interview July 30th...we were given. 221(g) because I had not provided enough evidence of domicile (ive been living in Honduras with my husband). The interviewing officer told me to get some more proof together (I.e. school enrollment, plane tickets, rental agreement....etc.) and email it to the provided email address.

Everything else with the interview went smoothly...they asked my husband 4 questions....how did we meet...when were we married...has he been married before and how old is our daughter.

So as soon as we got home I bought tickets and had my mom write a letter saying were living with her upon arrival to the States. So Sunday night I emailed the plane ticket copy and copy of a letter from my mom...yesterday the ceac still said ready but with a new date...this afternoon I checked again and it says ISSUED!!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm just a little confuses because ceac says the visa has been printed and to pick it up trim the embassy...but we registered on ustraveldocs....is that just a generic message?

  10. hi.... has anyone gotten an interview date for Honduras? my case was completed on april 09,2015. whenever i call the nvc i always get someone who apparently doesn't want to work and won't say anything besides we will notify you when your scheduled for an interview. heeeeeeeelp....

Nothing yet...my husbands cc was April 22 and still waiting. Let me know when you hear something!

  11. Familiasevilla have you tried downloading the magic jack app. It's completely free and it let you make free phone calls. My husband usually works all day and don't have time to call and I call thru the magic jack app without paying :-)

I have a magicjack but the calls wont go through :( not to mention my Internet is terrible in Honduras and even on the skype call the Rep could barely get my info....so frustrating.

And I hate calling anyway...my cc was April 22 and still no interview scheduled. :( I am with my husband and daughter kn Honduras but wanted to be able to spend at least some of the summer with my family in the States since my sisters a teacher and has the summer off...

  12. I Got my CC on May 1, how can i get my interview date out? Of the operators???... I think they don't want to tell me, cause they always tell me ill get a email with all the info and Date... But so far no email has arrived. Any Ideas? My Country is Honduras.

Sorry....not much help, but were in Honduras too. Our cc was April 22, I called and confirmed....but still haven't received the email and nothing yet about interview....

  13. Hi all, happy to join this group! Just paid the AOS fee and submitted the DS-261. Currently waiting for husband's police record from Japan, which will be available next week. Feeling very positive so far about the NVC journey :dancing:

I have a question about translation - can he just translate the document with a statement stating that everything is true/accurate? I was wondering if we need to have the papers notorized...

I had one of my friends translate the papers because I felt funny sending in papers I translated and saying I was competent to translate haha. But yes, you can translate them and attach a statement saying everything is true and accurate. And no they don't need to be notarized. I just got a case complete without problems with my translations.
