  1. Do NOT apply for PCC again.

Carry the second copy with you to the interview.

Make sure u make photocopies of the original PCC.

Carry both, the original and the copies.

Wish u all the best. Lemme know if u want some more info.

  2. I recieved my CC on Christmas day.

My hubby called the nvc on the 27th and they told us the intrrview date. They emailed the interview letter on Jan 3 and gave me Feb 4 as my interview date.

Quick question when was your case approved by the NVC and how long from then is/was your interview?

  3. U shud expect ur interview letter anytime around next week.

Talking abt my experience they re really nice people always there to help and guide u. The security staff, interviewing officers they are all there for us. If u have the complete documentation i dont think ull face any kind of problems. Just reach there at 0645. In order to come out early reach early.

Do not be nervous. They re all friendly ppl.

thank u so much for ur patient reply and congratulations!!! i received my case completed status on 2 feb :) i will also have my interview at mumbai can u share ur experience

  4. I had my interview in Mumbai two days back.

    1) youll receive ur interview letter by email. Print that out and carry it to ur interview.

    2) just make sure u carry all the required documents. As soon as u recieve ur Packet 4, scedule a medical appointment. No procedures to be followed before that. They ll guide u with everything. Your PCC and Medical is MUST. Do not forget that.

    3) you are supposed to take ur biometrics on the day proir to ur interview. You can get it done at the trade centre near the embassy. Its 1-2 kilometre away.

    4) you need to check ustraveldocs.com for knowing ur hospital. Ull have to call the hospital to schedule an appoint. you can eat before ur medical exam. Youll recv the reports on the same day.

    5) if uve not had any serious illness, long treatments, laser operations u dont need any medical records. In case u do then ull have to carry ur medical history.

  5. So the long long wait is over and my visa is finally approved.

I reached the consulate at 0630 for a 0730 interview. They let us in at 0700. After the security check they asked everybody to wait in the immigration wait area.

After a few minutes they called me and collected my DS 260, PCC, Medical report, Marriage certi, passport and Birth Certi all these documents went for verification. They gave me the domestic violence paper to read and i had to again wait for an hour since there were many applicants.

Finally my ticket number appeared on the screen. Window 16!! A young american lady greeted me. She looked quite friendly and all smiling.

She asked me to read out the oath while flipping at my documents.

She tells me that people go through bad marriages and if u face any kind of harassment u shud immediately contact the police.

Then she turns to me and asks

    1) What does your husband do?

    2) How did u guys meet?

    3) When did he go to the US

    4) How old was he when to the US

    5) When was the last time u went to the US?

    6) Was it a love/arranged marriage?

    7) When did ur husband visited you the last time

I said he was waiting outside, at that she smiled and said that my visa has been APPROVED

  6. I belong to the Mumbai Consulate, had my medical appointment on the 24th Jan, Apollo Hospital. The staff are very helpful. I reached there half an hour early for an 8 am appt. Its advisable to reach early. Dont wear any kinds of necklaces or long earrings(studs are good). Wear a simple t-shirt o/w for the xray thing ull have to wear the gown they give you(unhygienic).

Everything went perfectly alright. Was done with it in 2 hours. I hope this helps somebody.

  7. Every embassy operates differenly. I had to wait till they sent me the interview letter since i had to carry it along to the hospital. You should see what ur consulate requirements are and act accordingly. You should remember that it shudnt be more than SIX months from the day of ur medical and ur POE.

O/w ull have to do it again. So it better be a lil late. Somewhere right before ur interview date.

Your excitement clearly shows but u have to act wisely

Anyone thinks i have the wrong info are most welcome to correct me.

Mrsleman07 alll the very best for everything ahead!!

  8. It was dated January 2 2015

Today 10 days later its still showing at nvc

What was the date of your interview letter?

Usually cases are packed up on the business day after the date of the letter. The following business day (2 business days after the letter) the package is picked up by DHL. Then the next day it should show as IN TRANSIT.

For example if the date of the letter was Thursday, January 8.

Case is packed on Friday, January 9.

DHL picks up package on Monday, January 12

CEAC should change to IN TRANSIT on Tuesday January 13.

  9. This isn't a question or concern I'm sending out there, there are plenty of those I've already posted.

This is just a thank you to all the contributing members of this site and the administrators that have helped so many people, including my wife and me, these past years. My wife just got her CR-1 approved last month and I KNOW we couldn't have done it without this site's help.

Our case was pretty clear cut and simple, but it still took 450+ days from NAO2 to interview. But this site helped us understand the process, relieved tension/worry, and explained things without judging.

I feel sorry for the people who don't know about this site and go in blind to the details of the process. Sure the government websites do lay out the basic key info/steps pretty well, but the detail is not there of what to expect.

There was a guy outside the consulate office waiting with me while our wives were in the interview at Juarez. He looked upset/concerned, and could only complain about what a waste of money the lawyer he hired was. That talk made me realize how lucky I was to find this site. I think 99% of his worry/concern was that he probably didn't know the full process/expectation cause he relied on paying a lawyer to "take care of it". But when you do that, you have to trust someone you don't know, and NOT know exactly what is happening, hoping for the best outcome. During the interview, I was cool as a cucumber because Visa Journey and the people on the forums explained every detail of what we were about to go through, and that gave me the confidence to know things would work out eventually, without the added cost of a lawyer. (not saying people shouldn't get a lawyer if they need one for certain cases, but regardless, they should be reading and re-reading this site to know what the lawyer should be doing for them)

Thanks again, and keep up the good work. Even though the hard part of our process is over, I will continue to be on this site and try to help anyone that has questions that I can answer.

    tom

I feel the same way about this site:)
