  1. I need some help on the copies of my w-2, 1040a copies. I have them notarized with an aknowlegdement on the front with the legal letter. I forget that I didn't have my copies of my 1040s signed, and my wifes interview is march 16th @7am. Please feel free to write back and help me on this sisutation.

    Jose

well u can fed ex back an forth or just have someone forge your signature

  2. ok i spoke to sandy at the embassy ( the only person that has a clue) she says that age is a big reason for ARs . 90% of the reason for the AR's is the interviewers discreation. i looked on the web and if you search on google & yahoo type " manila and admin reviews" you'll see in other forums that even in 2003 this was an issue.

by the way she (sandy) had no idea about this forum ,and her no# being posted. i invited her to check it out she was very amused. hopefully she may post here, but i doubt she will.

ive told yovemyl (my fiancee) to get everything she can get just in case... her mothers an fathers birth certificates and marriage certificate letters of reference from her pastor baptism records etc etc... she may not need it, but better to have all bases covered.

  3. Good news....finally! I called DOS at 6am here in Cali and I only waiting for 5 mins. I was so excited that we have interview date I forgot to ask our medical interview so I had to call again. :D

Interview date April 11, 2006 at 6:30 am. Medical interview on April 4, 2006. They mailed the packet last Feb 13 but my fiance havent recieve anything. U guys think our packet is lost? Thanks...

nope its not really sent i found out that there not really sent till a few weeks before ( i have no idea why they say its sent earlier). you can go to st lukes and pick up the package, and you can go to the medical 1 month before your interview yove's medical is april 11th but she is goin march 20th. i suggest goin early as the medical can take a few days in some cases. yove is goin to take the CFO before the interview to so she can just get a stamp when she has her visa

  4. Just stupid question...if our papers had been recvd already by manila embassy...y call DOS here in US? Should I be calling manila instead if we already have interview date? Thanks for all your help!

well the best way to explain dealing with the manila embassy hmmmmmm ok take a nail place it against a 4x4 board of oak wood and use your head as a hammer. the manila embassy 18 dollar for 3 phone calls is a complete joke they didnt know yove (my fiancee)had her appt. but the state dept did. all they can tell you is what you can find for free on there web page. the state dept call is free except for local phone charges.

embassy = frustration aggrivation and costly

state dept = cheap easy and informative

  5. That's not Manila, it's from the DOS. I can't remember where it was but they don't use the years tax returns until that July date. Of course then they don't use the new poverty guidelines until then either. According to what i read. I don't see the big deal, you don't have to file until April 15th so why would they use the tax returns?

spoke to sandy at the embassy she said june is date they will accept 2005 tax returns, but if you have them completed they will use them. sandy is at +6325286300 hit 7 then 5184# shes in charge of the operation unit immigration branch. shes a filipina ,but has a very good grasp of what you need for your interview and extremely over worked took 20 attempts to get through. i will also call the state dept. to double check. i covered my bases with mine anyways i had my buisness appraised by a law firm. i draw an extremely lean salary ,and throw 90% back into my car dealership so im usually below the poverty level my 2005 i put myself above the poverty level. so i hope that 2005 is accepted

called the state dept they said its up to the embassy but that its not required till june but that most will use it if needed

  7. the call center in manila is a complete joke and a waste of 18 dollars  i just called up to find out why after 18 faxs they still cant update yove's address. not only are they clueless as to why. they didnt even know that her interview was april 18th , and were amazed that i could get that information without goin through them. (you can call the state dept There number is 202 663 1225 press1 then 0 then 0. )

  8. has anyone gotten there packets for april yet?? they mailed it on the 13th, but we still havent gotten it. when i call the embassy or the state dept. they still have her old address. (we've sent 14 faxs of the new address) yove has gone to her old address every day to check if its come, but still hasnt arrive

I wouldn't get too excited about it yet, Dano--Lye just got hers two days ago, and it was supposedly mailed on Jan 26th...and she lives in Paranaque.

Hope you get it soon, though! :D

ya but the weird thing is we've sent over 14 faxs (over 10 week period) called several times and they dont seem to be able to correct her address. plus she live less then 15 minutes from the embassy i think its a bit weird that mail takes 10+ days to be delievered in the same town. i know yove gets her bills on time so im sure the mail system cant be that much worse then the U.S. mail

  9. Update called State Dept today.

    Medical 17 April 2006

    Interview 21 April 2006

Packet was sent on the 13th of Feb. I have not recieved it yet

What number did you call to get the interview date? What did you ask them to get that? If you could please post how you did it, that would be much appreciated. Thanks Robert from California

You can call the State Dept and ask. There number is 202 663 1225 press 1 then 0 then 0.

my yoves K1 is medical is april 11th and interview is april 18th i was able to get this info on valentines day so it was the best valentines day present she could get . the only downside is im expecting an AR because we had to get her Birth certificate corrected so im told that has a great chance to flag a AR (admin review)

  11. Danoco,

Sounds reasonable to me, but I can't answer for the consulate.

How old is the appraisal? Things change with time, sometimes things can change rather abruptly.

    Danoco,

You can take more money out of the business for your personal use.

If you were to decide to sell the business, how would you set a price? And what documentation would you use to justify the price in negotiations with a potential buyer?

Keep in mind that if you were to show the business as something that you could sell to generate cash to support yourself and your alien fiancee - what is the impact on the income that you do have?

i own 2 usedcar dealership with over 100 cars which i own 100% no liens. i have a fully operational service shop in one of them. however my problem is i reinvest over 90% of my money back into my buisness, i dont have to i just choose too. so 2 of my years are below and my 2005 im just slightly above the poverty level. what if anything can i do to show that support is not an issue. ive been told to put 50k in the bank before the interview. is there any recognized way to show my buisness value to the manila embassy.

i had my buisness appraised in a child support case would that be considered or accepted by the embassy ???

most people in my buisness floorplan there cars with a bank. after sept 11 my credit was shot to hell so ive had to carry my buisness on my own. although ive restored my credit ive gotten use to not depending on banks. my buisness was valued last year at 500,000 by a law firm. but it was used in a child support case i dont know if the embassy would accept that. i basically work 7 days a week (no life) and whatever i cant right off i claim. up until last year i lived soley for my buisness. if push came to shove i can sell a car at the auction to free up money but i sell 400+ cars a year so its never came to that
