  1. According to the website for the TLC show 90 day fiance, the 2013 total number of approved k-1 visas was just about 30,000. That does not include the denied petitions !! And that is at k-1 interview stage !! Can any of us really imagine the total number of I-129F files that sent a year !!!!! I guess looking at that data, if an approval comes within six months of receipt date, I would be pleased !

While i think many of us appreciate the volume of petitions the USCIS is receiving, it is unacceptable that some people at getting their I129F approved in 1 month while others are waiting over 6 months, simply based on what state the petitioner lives in! Also, the general consensus is that Filipino petitions are being expedited due to a storm that occurred over a year ago and that seems to be the only reason for it.

  2. I'm not expert but I am pretty sure K-1 is actually an Immigrant Visa. At least the website of the US embassy in Stockholm says it is... Just FYI.

Hope you hear back from Congressman Himes, good luck! :)

Its my understanding that its classified as a nonimmigrant visa as the beneficiary has temporary status and can apply for permanent immigrant status after they are married.

    Thanks for the support!

  3. I just sent the following message to my local congressman and am hoping he can assist.

    Congressman Himes,

As a member of your constituency and a person who voted for you in 2010, I feel entitled to raise an issue with you that I am having with the USCIS, in particular the Texas Service Center and their response to a K1 Visa Application I submitted in July. I do not know how familiar you are with the K1 Visa and its process for approval but in simple terms, the K1 visa is a form of Non-Immigrant Visa that I have applied for on behalf of my Fiance so that she can legally enter the United States, provided we were to marry within 90 days. Applications are submitted to the USCIS and are sent to either California or Texas for processing. Unfortunately for myself and the rest of your constituency, all applications from Connecticut are sent to the Texas Service Center which has a lengthy approval time of about 5-6 months. Applicants lucky enough to live in a state that is serviced by the California Service Center receive a response in about a month’s time.

As I mentioned earlier, I submitted my application on July 9th and as of today, it has been 155 long days that I have been waiting to hear back from the USCIS. I met my fiancé when she was living in working in the United States. We are both honest, hard-working people and she wants to come here lawfully so that she can work and contribute to our state’s economy. I think that it is embarrassing for both our Federal government who takes such a long time to process these visa requests and it is embarrassing for our State to be “drawing the short end of the stick” and having our applications sent to Texas instead of California. Connecticut has some of the highest taxes in the country and I believe its citizens deserve the highest level of service the government has to offer. My Case number is SRCXXXXXXXXXX and I hope your office can look into this for me.

I hope to hear back from you and appreciate any response you can provide.

  4. I was really optimistic for a productive week from the USCIS since i figured there would not be much work done next week due to the holidays but as of right now, i see only 1 approval on Igors list for the month of June. Since we are talking about government employees (likely the least productive goverment employees are at USCIS- which is basically the worst of the worst) I am expecting everyone to be off for the majority of the week.

  5. Those random petitions from August - October are from CSC filers who keep screwing up the timelines posting the wrong service center. They see the comments about the service center and never change their mistake. When I check my status, I've memorized others similar to mine and see no movement with the I130s and I129Fs but the AOS, Travel Docs, and EADs are processing at lightning speeds. TSC is absolutely pathetic but there is nothing we can do but just wait patiently. . .

That is what I figured but in a way that makes it worse! If you take out the random approvals from August through October, TSC approved about 6 petitions this week! I wish we had some sort of recourse.

  6. According to Igor's list, as of 5:45 EST today on Friday 11/7, there have been only 11 approved petitions this week. This is a disgrace. I realize that Igor's list is not completely reliable as it depends on user updates but even if you account for users not adding their timelines to VJ or not updating it after receiving their NOA2, this accounts for such a miniscule percentage of June Filers. What is going on? Of the 11 approved at TSC, only three are current month (June), the rest are Philippines or random petitions from August-October. I am starting to lose my mind. If the USCIS was a public company they would be clearing house right now. If i did approvals by myself, i could approve eleven a week and be just as rigorous in the review.

  7. The title of her post is "So Fasttttttt". We know that is not the case for most people. She is just baiting people. Oh well, I don't begrudge her at all, just think it's like telling a bunch of people that just got hit by a hurricane that it only drizzled for them and he storm was no big deal.

Its a forum and no-one has to read anything on here, you can tell from the title if you want to read it or not. P&J are cool and have given lots of support on here to a lot of people. They are just sharing.

Its not nice to begrudge other peoples fortune. We've been stuck at TSC since June but I'm glad for every person that gets processed. Its not their fault, its the system.

Good luck P&J, and pray for us (seemed to work before right...;-))

  8. First of all this post was not meant to be rubbed in anybody's face. I have shown nothing but support and hopes of fast approvals to everyone. So frankly if you don't like what i have to say you can kindly remove yourself from my page. Your negativity has no place here. God bless you!☺

This was posted in a public Forum, not your page. Just honestly think there is nothing contructive about this thread and think its only intention was to make others feel bad.

  9. Anyone have any idea where VisaJourney gets their processing time dates located here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/times ? The dates here seem to be progressing everyday as opposed to the USCIS site which seems to be pretty static. For example, VJ says petitions from May 2nd are starting to be looked at as of this morning for Form I-129F at the TSC. How do they know that? Wouldnt USCIS have a better idea of what is currently being reviewed than VJ?
