  1. For EGYPT.

    UNFORTUNATELY,

I've just finished a phone call with one of the decent representatives who told me that they are done with scheduling interviews for December.

This is caused by the overcrowdness & overload from the Yemeni & Syrian people.

    Wait for January.

I'm planning to go back to Egypt to meet my family.

I'm going to call NVC tomorrow...we'll see if the rep I speak with says the same thing. I'm still holding out hope for an interview in December until November 14 (no special reason for this date, just that it's in the middle of the month). Most of the other embassies haven't fully released their December interview dates as of right now, so I'm praying that the rep just made something up because s/he didn't actually know why your interview hasn't been scheduled.

  2. can you tell us the august CC dates + interview dates and when they were scheduled? The only IR1/CR1 person (in Egypt) I know of who had an August CC date with an interview already scheduled is the user Lowlie (CC 8/4, interview 11/18), but their case was expedited.

There are several of us with July CCs (mine is 7/20) who are still waiting. Please join us in the December 2015 interview thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/573690-december-2015-interviews/page-1:):clock:

  3. No interviews yet .. No time frame !!

I hate it when the idiot NVC case representative keeps repeating the same phrases whatever my question is!!

They are like nerd robots with no brains to think before answering!!

I wonder what type of education do they have before being hired to this job!!

It's only Monday morning. They haven't had a chance to update cases yet. Last month, Cairo interviewees found out their dates around October 2...September 11 was the release date 2 months ago (according to dwheels' data). So theoretically (praying fervently!!) we could hear the good news between tonight and about a week from now...but I really think it will be before Friday! Also, it's better for the representatives to say "I don't know!" than give us false hope or wrong information. They only know what their supervisors tell them (which isn't much).

  4. i bet he will win, for the embassy is slow as hell. go to city star instead. khan el khalili is garbage. especially the people in there, they look at every girl that goes by.

I've been before. I like the novelty of it. City Stars is so much more expensive and the Khan has more variety...but yes, the merchants are awful.

Cairo is slow, but based on timelines and how long we've been waiting (more than 3 months since CC), we should be in the next batch of interviews that get scheduled. It's just a matter of when they release the info (if it happens like last month, it will be the very end of October or the first week of November). :)

  5. Got the medical exam appointment and it's just the day prior to the interview. We would have scheduled sooner, but my husband was calling unsuccessfully many times per day since the day we learned of our interview . That's sure cutting things awfully close.

Whoa, I was under the impression that the medical could be walk-in (you know...because Egypt...), but i was planning to have my husband call once we get the interview date. I guess they're super busy if the earliest you could get is the day before your husband's interview..? Do you think I should have my husband go ahead and schedule his medical without an interview date? The US embassy's website suggests having it done 3 weeks prior to the interview: http://egypt.usembassy.gov/consular/ivmei.htmlI can't see ours getting scheduled later than mid-December (assuming no unforeseen circumstances) since our CC was in July and I REALLY don't want to be in the situation of not having the medical done (or the results in hand) before the interview.

  6. Got the NVC interview email....

    Interview appointment November 18

This means I won't be making my usual Friday morning call which I have done for many months. I can't believe I don't need to call them anymore!

Congrats, Lowlie! You had me so excited that i made my husband call NVC a little while ago (it's now past 2AM here)..............but no luck for us. :( The lady said that the embassy sends them new slots every week, though... :clock:

  7. GOOD NIGHT EGYPTIANS..

Mai Shahin .. was scheduled for her interview .. CONGRATULATIONS MAI .. Was your case expideted?

Pharaoh7 & VJ visitor: Your CC are before Mai's .. Any secheduled interviews for you yet?

    How about you Kyrachos???

Just called. Nothing for us, but the rep confirmed our CC date (7/20)...will call later this month, but I guess this probably means we'll have the interview in early December. sigh :clock: was really hoping to be home in time for the holidays and that hope is now fading. Thanks, US Embassy Cairo.

  8. Kyrachos what the hell takes that long for my goodness. That is too long to wait I haven't seen my husband for almost 2 years now and do I sing up for that interview threads? Thanks so much.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. The average among embassies is something like 60 days from case complete date to interview date...Cairo is pushing 150-160. No rhyme or reason. just running on Egyptian time. click on the link I sent earlier to take you to the thread, but a new one for november will start tomorrow, like I said (it might already be up at this point).

  9. You should join us in the October 2015 Interviews thread (soon to roll over to November 2015 Interviews --the thread runs a month in advance). Right now, it's taking about 4 months from CC to receive an interview date in Cairo with the interview being 5 months after case complete (so a September CC might make your interview date in February). Lots of Cairo people waiting. :( Some who have CCs in June are still waiting. Hoping Cairo speeds up and we can all be home for the holidays.

  10. To the people who never received CC emails, ask NVC to physically mail you confirmation of your CC. The same happened to us and we pestered the operators about getting written confirmation. We expected to receive an email (after informing a rep that it had been almost a month since CC, she said "Oh, that's weird. I'll put in a resend request."), but they ended up mailing the standard CC letter, which was relieving. To this day, we still haven't gotten a CC email, but the letter arrived approximately 1 month after the CC (I think about a week and a half from the rep's "resend request").

  11. I read about resumes and stuff for bio chemistry people ..how about medical graduates or Doctors ..??? What's should they expect at interview??

Now I'm wondering, too. Husband is a veterinarian with some lab experience (vaccine production), but he's back to doing clinical work now.

I guess we'll bring his resume and proof that he's enrolled in the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates)...anything else?

  12. That's pathetic !

Do you think that there may be other available slots for October?!

Have you tried to apply for an expedite request?

    That's pathetic !

Do you think that there may be other available slots for October?!

Have you tried to apply for an expedite request?

Not everybody who is going through the process is on VJ and not every person on VJ updates their timeline/progress as soon as they hear new info, so it's impossible to know exactly how far Cairo/NVC got scheduling interviews, but I think the last person who was updated on the CC-to-interview spreadsheet was around May 20. :( I think Cairo will probably schedule many more immigrant visa interviews next month (November interview dates) now that the summer rush for student and tourist visas is finished. My husband (beneficiary) has several friends and colleagues who got student visas in a matter of a few months max (interview dates in July and August), so it stings a bit more to be held up for a year while others can move on with their lives relatively quickly (as I'm sure you know).

We have not applied for an expedite because we have no reason to. Cairo will only accept them in very extreme situations anyway. There was a person who had his NOA1 date in Oct 2014, got expedited through USCIS and NVC for legitimate reasons and still had to wait 4 months for his CR1 interview (June 2015) at the Cairo embassy. Not much we can do except sit back and wait.

  13. Any one from Egypt received any interview appointments for October?

Do you think that they will send e-mails earlier this month due to the upcoming Adha feast?

A few people with cases completed in May had their interviews scheduled last week...for the end of October. Your CC date looks to be 1 day after ours (7/20), so we should hopefully hear about our interviews around the same time. :) Unfortunately, it looks like Cairo didn't schedule any interviews with June CC dates, so we might not hear anything until November (December interview dates) based on the current wait times (5 months from case complete to interview). :clock:

  14. Wow, 10 days and still no email! This is why people should keep calling NVC to find out when they have an interview. The sooner a person knows, the sooner they can get their medical scheduled.

They didn't even send us a CC email! We had to call and call and finally they mailed a physical letter one month later and only because we requested some kind of non-verbal confirmation that our case was completed. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

  15. Cairo folks... Call the nvc now

    Dwheels76 plz update me

    October 19

yaaaaay, congrats! Finally! Just called NVC...nothing for us (but our CC was in July). We'll call again in 2 weeks, but it sounds like November might be our month. Oh well, I guess it's time to start getting the pooch and kitty's paperwork in order so they will be ready to travel by the time my husband has his interview. :energy::luv:

  16. EXPECT 101 DAYS TILL CC WAITING FOR APPOINTMENT AND COUNITNG ..............how bout that ...........7'aleek fl manga bta3tak

You don't have to be rude, dude. ;) We're all tired of the waiting; some have been waiting longer than you have. Writing in caps (yelling) and complaining every few hours is not going to get you your interview any faster...might as well do something productive and fill in your timeline to improve VJ stats. That's the purpose of this site (as far as I'm aware) - to help each other. (F)
