  1. Successful walk-in for biometrics today! They almost turned me away like Chewy, but told me I had to give them a very good reason for turning up early (which I then did) and let me through. Done and on the way back home in 10 minutes.

I only got my appointment letter 3 days ago (3 weeks after acceptance) so it looks like it can vary a lot, not necessarily a bad sign.

May I ask what your reason was?

  2. LOL...no way in hell am I filing anything against anyone in immigration. Who knows what they can do behind the scenes. They can be as rude to me as they want! Knowing our luck we would end up getting an officer doing our interview that knew the security guard I filed a complaint against :o

Chewy, LOL I wouldn't risk it either, but I wish we could!

Hey Rodeo, thank you for your thoughts. They are greatly appreciated and I think you are right since I submitted pay stubs, a tax transcript for 2014 and a letter of employment offer :/ Getting a joint sponsor is probably the safest way to proceed.

    1brit, Better safe than sorry!

  3. My walkin experience was horrible! Of course I knew it was a chance so I wasn't mad about not getting in...I was more upset with how we were treated.

We didn't even make it through the front door LOL! I handed the security gaurd my letter and he looked at it and said "Your appointment isn't until April 8th at 2:00" I said I know I was going to see if we could get in early. He then said to me "Ma'am do you need me to clarify what Appointment Time means" hands me my papers and said now leave and come back on April 8th at 2:00 pm.

I was a bit pissed off....but went to the beach and the tiki bar and had a drink! LOL

That is so rude! Is there a way you can file a complaint against him?

  4. I received the notice of acceptance and the status remains the same since 03/09 for all the forms but the I-485 which has "fingerprint fee was received ... We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice..." I hope not have any RFE.

Lanna, That is what our status said until it changed from "fingerprint fee received..." to "suspended until RFE reply"

    Walk-in unsuccessful :(

Chewy, Why was it unsuccessful? Do they just not allow walk-ins?

Just found out that my EAD and AP was approved!

USCIS website shows that card was ordered on 3/30/15.

Wish everyone else sees movements soon!

Does this mean you now have residency? That happened so quickly.

  5. No, zero fluency.

Some say USA citizens are lazy by not knowing a (or any) foreign language.

But actually we are just lucky.

English is the language of the world or the second language for the rest of the world where it is not the native language.

You can travel to practically any location in the world and find someone who speaks understandable English . . . except in the United Kingdom.

And, actually you are not doing a foreign spouse any favor by learning some of their native language. To do so will be to slow down their process of assimilation and economic progress in the USA.

I was just curious. My husband is fluent in English and Spanish, I am semi fluent in Spanish.

  6. I got an RFE for not sending in my own I-864. I thought that since we have sponsors I did not have to send one myself.

the RFE says to submit my I-864 and to also provide copies of my "most recent Federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (w-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules)"

Would this be my 2014 transcript? Do I need to send my actual W-2s

    Additionally,

Part 3 #1, do I put yes or no? My parents are the joint sponsors. My mother is the only one who filled out a I-864 though.

part 5 #3, do I put 1 here or 0 as he is both my husband and the person I am sponsoring?

part 6 #6.a, do I put his name here?

part 6 #13-14, I am going to include transcripts of my tax returns for the past 3 years just to be safe. should I check box 13, fill out 13.a,b,c, and check 14?

Part 9, do I just put N/A or None here as I prepared it myself?

  7. Additionally, on the I-864

  8. Received the paper copy of RFE today. I guess I somehow thought I didn't have to submit an I-864 since we have sponsors. we have 87 days to respond. The RFE says

Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, was submitted; however, it was not from the petitioner/sponsor.

Submit a completed and signed form I-864 (revision date of 03/22/13) for the petitioner/sponsor listed on Form I-130. Even if a joint sponsor will be used, the petitioner/sponsor must submit form I-864. also provide copies of the petitioner/sponsor's most recent federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents.

Include this letter with your response.
