  1. Jonathan's medical is today. Interview is next week. I'm obsessing over the interview paperwork. I think I've gone through it 1,000 times already.... and I still have 8 days to go.... so I predict checking it another 1,000 times! haha

This proof of ongoing relationship part is worrying me since we only have pictures and a skype call log/screen shots.

I had to go to Paris for the medical and for my interview, and I checked that I had all my paperwork only once, two days before leaving. I didn't have time to check before I got on the train. I would have been late if I had, and I had to make a choice: missing my train or checking if I had it all. I kind of knew everything was okay though, but I still had that lingering fear in me.

My bag was heavy with proof of ongoing relationship and they didn't even ask to see any of it. I just glanced over the embassy reviews in Canada and it seems like they don't ask them either.

    Hi :)

Glad to see it's been issued for you!

Do you have any FFM's with the airline you can take advantage of? That's what we did for my fiancé's one-way.

I don't :( So we don't really have a choice but pay the normal price. It's okay though, my mother-in-law is paying part of them as our wedding present.

medical done today.. along with our baby.. fiance received 5 vaccinations in two injections, baby was up-to-date and didn't need any injections. interview is on thursday, wish us luck!

Turned out I didn't have some shots that were required that I receive as a baby. I had them done 27 years late. Good luck!

  2. I had my medical yesterday and I had been scared that they see some kind of infection in my lungs, because that would have blocked everything for at least 6 weeks. It was reassuring to see I didn't have anything. I have my sealed envelope.

My interview is today but I'm not getting my hopes up too high as I'm not sure I'll be let into the embassy. I've been preparing myself to be turned away at the doors.

It would be heartbreaking if it happens but at least our wedding is for October 10 and we can wait some more.

I'll update you guys. If I don't update, just know its because I'm too sad to write.

It's terribly unfair that we have to go through such emotionally draining events to get married. I just want to be with the person I love.

We know a couple who have started dating only a year ago and are already married (both are Americans). My relationship with my fiancé has been more serious than theirs, and longer, yet we are the ones who have to go through a long and tiring process to get married.

Anyway I'll stop rambling. I don't want to bring the general mood down! I'm just a little stressed and already heartbroken at the thought I could be turned away.

We have contacted a senator and they assigned us a caseworker, so at least we have that.

  3. I've been so busy lately that I've barely had time to log in.

Well, my interview is Tuesday. I mean, it's SUPPOSED to be Tuesday, IF they let me into the embassy, because the US embassy just does not communicate and I have seen some people saying they needed to fill out a form of readiness and some people saying they didn't need to. Some people saying they were let into the embassy and some people like Chantuff9's fiancé who weren't let in.

I'm confused and I don't know what to do. The law firm we used told us the form of readiness was only for married couples. We contacted a senator to help us and a caseworker asked the embassy if everything was looking alright with me but the embassy responded they couldn't communicate anything for "security reasons".

    Nice!

I guess I'll find out the day of the interview.

I'll let you know. I hope I'll get through and just be approved Tuesday.

  4. Just want to clarify this to stop confusion from spreading: EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT AND 100% K-1's do not "always schedule their own interview."

It depends on the embassy. Case in point: OUR K-1 CASE (Riyadh, KSA) has to be scheduled by the Embassy.

My suggestion is to check the Embassy Info here for your embassy and see how they do things..

Yeah but nowhere in any instructions about the French embassy they say you have to wait for them to e-mail/mail you the instructions before scheduling. I would have scheduled my interview before I got the instructions e-mail as well hadn't it been for my lawyer taking too long to fill the DS160 for me.

  5. Hello ( I apologize for my rusty english ^^)

I had my interview June 25th at Paris Embassy too.

Out of the embassy the guards let me in without any problem (and they let in my mother also which surprised me !)

But at the front office where they gave you the ticket, a young lady ask me about the "invitation" with the Embassy logo on top but I just had the confirmation of payment with me where it says the date and time of the interview. She said to me it was not that but I insisted that I didn't receive any other email and she gave me my ticket and let me in.

After when i was called at the guichet the first time to let them know I was there, the lady told me that the invitation is only for the people who have to come from outside France ! If you live in France the confirmation page should be enough.

But I suggest you to not give up with your caseworker because this is a mistake from THEM.

    Thank you for responding.

Do you have any idea what the "invitation" could be? I'm from France as well and my fiancé (petitioner) received on his e-mail something that explained which documents to gather and the link to schedule the appointment, but it had no precise date given for the interview on it. I thought that was Packet 3. It had the logo of the embassy on top of it. It was not personal, it was the same information we find online.

Does anyone think that could be it?

  6. My fiancé's interview is this coming Tuesday! Its a daydream for us to be at this point now! Please send us good vibes! We also send good vibes to you all for the rest of the journey!!

GOOD LUCK! As one of my friend always tells me "If your relationship is legit, you have nothing to be afraid of". I'm thrilled to see us Octoberers at the interview stage now. It's beautiful, considering we used to be all waiting and frustrated. :dancing:

    Sinon, question :

Doit-on emmener les originaux (tax returns, W2, etc.) ?

La "lettre de convocation" qu'on doit emmener, c'est quoi ?

    Merci ! :dancing:
