  1. In regards to getting a drivers license you better do some research in respect to the state you live in ... He may be allowed to drive on his license from his home country for a certain time from from becoming a resident of your state ... I know I can drive for 90 days in Illinois although I am not sure if the 90 days starts when I arrive in the US of from when I get my EAD/AOS maybe someone else can answer that question for me ...

If he applies for the license before he gets his EAD or AOS then there is a chance his new drivers license will expire when his I-94 expires and he may be without a license till he gets his EAD or AOS because your state may take his drivers license he is holding from his home country (I know Illinois will take it upon giving you a Illinois State License) ...

Good point, I know he can drive on his current license....but if he applies for the NY one, they may take it away...he won't like that  Who knows more about this?

If you are filing the form online the Acrobat reader fills out the 4 pages automatically, just make sure to sign all of them once printed. They differ slightly in their appearance as far as I remember.

Also make yourself copies of all the paperwork you are submitting including all evidence you are submitting. When she attends the interview she will need to have all of these originals and copies present with her in the event they ask to see any of it.

  3. hi, quick question, when you check online about the imbra return, does it actually sayImbra RFE or it only show the most recent updatre and assume it is the visa received??

    thanks

No,it only will say that they sent out a request for some additional information. this doesnt make it IMBRA, it could just be a regular RFE. The online system will not specify this. Hope I helped!

  4. I havent been here in some time, I am so happy for all the couples that got approvals!!!yayyyyy for you guys!!!

I'm still waiting for some kind of news from the consulate in Israel, we've heard nothing

I really dunno what else to do, even if NVC sent the package out on August 18th (the date of their letter to me) the emabassy in Israel could have gotten it 3 times already!! Yet all they answer to my emails is that they still do not have it :crying:

  5. Mike, I wish I can say something that will help or comfort you, unfortunately I have no such gift. you have my deepest sympathy, it is unfair beyond limits that you have heard absolutely nothing still. I can only say keep praying, it has helped me through the very dark times, sometimes it seems like the sun will never rise, but you and I and all of us know that the sun does rise eventually even after the most terrible of nights and even at the North pole after many months of pitch darkness. keep the faith, because sometimes that is all we have to keep us sane.

  6. maybe it´s not the embassy´s fault afterall..

maybe it´s just taking longer for your petition to leave the NVC mailroom.

i think i might be in the same situation.

    good luck!

Aha! So you agree with me now, rlt?

    I have no choice!

    :)

Apparently neither do I, since I received a letter from NVC dated 8/18/06( a Friday  ) saying that the CIS re-approved my case and that they forwarded it to the embassy. BUT even if it was the 18th, I re-tracked with DHL and it was delivered! on the 21st. Go figure...I just hope next week is the week for us!

  7. Hello again to all,

here is the latest stupid person at USCIS Comment.

Today when actually getting a live person on the PHone at USCIS, I inquired as to our Case and as to where is it ?

It was returned after 3 Months in Guangzhou China, and now after more time no response from either NVC or USCIS. When explaining the details to the customer service rep at USCIS, get this, He asked me what is IMBRA ? Do they actually hire ####### that are this stupid ? He did not know what IMBRA was,who processes it, or how to find information. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but he got back on in two minutes claiming the supervisor had the same answers as he did. Thank God no terrorists are trying in infiltrate our Country ! What a joke.

The DOS in DC told me the case was returned on July 1, but on July 5 I received an email from Guangzhou China that they had not received the file, Hey how can You return a file before You have even received it Duh !

well. to conclude my opinion that there are many incompetants working for USCIS, NVC and the Guangzhou embassy, I wonder why my Fiance is unhappy as she has not received one scrap of paper since we applies back in April. and wonder how these people can even sleep at night making all of uswait for unconsionable amounts of time.

Of Special interest to You fellow New Yorkers, It seems our illustrious Senator Hillary Clinton does not have time for us either, I sent her a cordial email in July asking if she could look into where our file is and after the usuall automated response, Nothing ! Nothing ! Nothing !

I would say if You are thinking of the Future, Vote NO for relection, NO for her wishful Presidency., No for New Yorker. and for all of You seeking Your Visa'a let her know there is a BIG Asian population here in NY

That understands that she is not interested in a Young Woman from China that wishes to immigrate to marry here, To all Our friends Vote Your thoughts when the time comes. Remember Hillary and Bill Bought some of her Senate Votes thru Presidential Pardons right here in Rockland County NY for several men that embezzled $45 Million in Taxpayer Money only to buy her a Block Vote of 1100 Jewish Votes, I guess we should start with the more corrupt ones ! Bring Our Fiancee's Home Now !

Sorry to blow off steam but we Should tell people the truth

it's 10PM do know where Your Visa Is ?

I also contacted Hillary via email..which is not the best of ways as many have told you here i'm sure already. I do recommend contacting your local congressman/woman. At least they have the decency to acknowledge that you at least exist. Mine hasn't done much since I sent a letter via snail mail in July, but she did send a letter to the embassy in Israel...which of course has not been answered. Well, I do wish you better luck, but congress reps are a lot better in these immigrations issues I think.opinions opinions

its time to go undercover to the embassy in Tel Aviv to find my petition and demand an interview!!! :energetic:

The last email reply from them was in BIG bold letters "WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE FILE YET. "......after two emails from me....hmmmmm

I wish you luck with your undercover mission!

thanks!!!! i just hope I havent ticked off the wrong people so far

I hope the ones who answer the phones there can't possibly be the same ones who interview.

  10. I am officially pissed off with this embassy in Tel Aviv. The people are beyond rude! They are obnoxious. When I spoke to someone this morning about my petition being received at the embassy via DHL the most UNfriendly woman on the phone asked "and WHO are you? DO you work here?" :diablo:

I'm going to kick some a*$&%^ All she could tell me was, I dunno, I cant answer anymore of your questions. All this was in a tone of disgust and a get lost attitude!!! Grrrrr

Aw, aque, I'm sorry. Have you called NVC to check on the date your petition was sent? It usually takes them a few more days to actually mail it out, it seems. Then wait for a few days and call the consulate back, or try and e-mail them...

Thanks mew, Yes I did, NVC mailed it on the 14th using DHL. As I checked before there was only one going from DHL to Tel Aviv in the time between 13-16of Aug. I just know it was mine, and they received it on the 17th. (last time it took exactly the same time to get from NVC to israel)Apparently they are too lazy to get off their behinds and do some work there! :ranting:

I dont mind the waiting, if the waiting is for a reasonable delay. But when I asked her if it is possible to have received the petition and just not have entered it into the system yet.....again the retarded "I don't know i cant answer anymore questions for you" i'd like to strangle her!

  12. I wonder why some consulates are saying come anytime while others are saying in a month? whats the deal with that? I 'm nervous now

The Moscow Embassy schedules the interviews 2+ months out. Last time I looked they had interviews scheduled through the 2nd week in October. So our interview won't be for at least another 2 months.

Fortunately, I just returned from holiday with my fiance 2 weeks ago so I'm not complaining (at least not yet).

I just wanted to say that I have much respect for the people in our group. We've been through a lot - a very dark period, but now at least for all of us the finish line is in sight. I feel like I'm part of a championship team here.

My RFE is back at Vermont, at least according to USPS.

And Jello, start emailing the US Embassy in Moscow now. Let them know it's coming. I think and hope your speculation on 2+ months is overstated in our case. And my intel is at least as good as yours. :)

Yep, and we should all throw a gigantic party at the end of the finish line! It really does feel like "mission impossible" to get your loved ones here. All these super spy-like investigations being made just to find when and where our petitions shipped...haha

My baby still cant believe that I was able to track the petition going to the embassy

I'm not even talking about the multitude of information all of us collected from numerous "top-secret" sources!! My congressman representative still hasn't called me

  13. HI ALL!!!!!!

Well I called NVC and they said they mailed my petition on the 14th, YESTERDAY!! I went to DHL and tracked the way MEW suggested and saw only ONE packet leaving on the 14th to Tel Aviv, and it also says it has arrived at the DHL facility,in Belgium for now....not in Israel yet, but soon! :goofy: :energetic: :dance::dance: I think thats OURS!!!! I think its time to start calling the embassy in Israel in a day or two.

  14. YAY for everyone!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dancing:

I am overjoyed to see that petitions are finally making their way back to the consulates!!!!!!!! WHOOPI

I can hardly wait till mine gets there already!

I think this week and the next will be the greatest one of all for most members here

Best of Luck and all my love to you guys
